We loved Diamond Club, we felt very spoilt and we can't wait to come back for our 4th holiday next year
This was our 11th stay at a Royalton and our 3rd stay at Hideaway Rivera Cancun as we have also stayed at other Royalton hotels numerous times including; St Lucia, Dominican Republic, Antigua and Jamacia. We love the Royalton brand and it suits our age group and budget. Diamond Club just makes your holiday feel more indulgent, with better room location, Diamond Club guest only Swimming Pools, Pool area, Beach Bar, DC Reception, Dining area, 1 hour free hydro pool experience, Butlers, additional drinks & snacks in your room, plus more. On this visit the Hotel had been recently renovated. The renovations and improvements made our stay feel really magical and excited to see the hotel makeover. I have booked to return for a 4th time because I still love this hotel as much as when I first visited in 2019 and the fantastic staff that went above and beyond to make our holiday so memorable. With each stay I think, it can’t get any better and this stay was our favourite. We had a beautiful pool view with our Diamond Club Hideaway room, which was newly renovated. Thank you to our two wonderful Diamond Club Butlers Sarah and Ulises whom booked our restaurants, came to see us every day, updated us with the latest events, decorated our room and were very hospitable. I would like to say a big Thank You to Daniela Flores Mut for ensuring our holiday was absolutely perfect and for your kindness, organisation and making us want to return. Make-Overs New Royalton Resorts App to download on your mobile phone, which is brilliant Diamond Club Beach Bar – With Roal our favourite Bartender Swings / hanging seats have been added to the DC Beach Bar and fancy Tiki lamp shades. They serve the best premium liquors as part of the Diamond Club service. The Staff at the DC Beach Bar are amazing, especially “Roal” who is a very experienced and knowledgeable. Roal, is very kind, friendly and would have our drinks ready before we ordered and remembered our favourite cocktails. Our Diamond Club Beach Waiters were so much fun and friendly, were the Dynamic Duo of Eddie & Diana. Diamond Club Pool area and Bar “Alfredo” is a great Bartender at the Diamond Club pool area, made us feel so welcome and created delicious cocktails with Diamond Club Top-shelf liquors, such a fun guy. Buffet Breakfast & Lunch Diamond Club Area I love the new Juicing Bike added to the buffet at Breakfast, where guest blended their smoothies by riding the bike. The Buffet was outstanding for both food quality and variety and never disappointed with service from the friendly staff too. Thank You to “Daniel” at the Buffet Omelette Station who made us the most delicious omelettes every morning. Also Thank You to Enrique the kindest and conscientious waiter in the Diamond Club Buffet Area. Enrique had our Tea, Coffee and Water ready for us and made us feel so welcomed and special. A professional and absolute credit to the Hotel. The renovations and new decor of the buffet area was really nice Lounge Bar I love the make-over of the Lounge bar in the main section of the Royalton, absolutely stunning The Agave restaurant had a total make-over and looked spectacular. Hideaway Pool & Pool Bar Swings / hanging seats have been added to the top/dry section of the pool bar. The main swimming pool and entrance leading into the pool had been renovated. The pool below Dorados had received a make-over and looks beautiful and Dorados Restaurant too. “New Entertainment Added” was the Pink Foam Party at the HW pool. Guest & Staff dresses in pink and we partied in the pool, it was so much fun. This event was only available to Hideaway guests. Our pool waiter Saul never let our cups go empty and brought our favourite & surprise cocktails, without us asking, a genuinely lovely kind guy. Fitness Instructors The Fitness instructors; Fatima, Jorge, Edger and crew were amazing and I took part in their group class every day. The best fitness sessions I’ve experienced on holiday. The Hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas and with a lovely Christmas atmosphere and Xmas songs playing. Needs a Complete Overhall. Leadership has failed
It pains my heart to write this review, because the people working here couldn't be nicer and more accommodating. They are all trying to do their best with the situation at hand. The situation is that the hotel needs a complete renovation. In addition, the following are SOME of the issues that need to be resolved: No hot water. Only warm No hot coffee. Only warm No hot food. Only warm Sewage smell in rooms Sewage smell in pool area My wife and I came here 7 or 8 years ago and I have to tell you it was a completely different experience. We did stay in one of the nicest suites I have ever stayed in. It was in building 4 on the top floor. It was expansive to say the least. It had a rooftop pool, kitchen, bar, jaccuzi and more. The bar and Kitchen were stocked with wine, spirits, beer, ice cream, soda, candy....you get the idea. I think they call it the chairman's suite. That was last time. This time, well it was nice but as mentioned before everything from the hallways, stairwells, walkways, bathrooms need a complete renovation. I estimate they would need to spend $50,000,000 to get this hotel back to a 4-5 star status. I could go on about the issues with the restaurants, reservations, but I encourge you to read all the other recent reviews. One last thing. Enough with the up charging. Well, two last things. They have an affiliated company Prime Travel. When you arrive they are DESPERATE to get you to join. It must be some type of subscription service for travel. I had to finally after the second day tell Camy ( the person assigned to us ) that we decided to NOT to join the club. I think that shut her down. I would of given the hotel two stars if not for the kindness and sincerity of the staff. We will not be coming back or recommending this propert.

Tepanyaki Meal
Brilliant night at Tepanyaki with Chef Hugo! Amazing tasting food and brilliant atmosphere he provided during our meal. Will 100% be back during our holiday to experience the tepanyaki experience again! All set menu was lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed our time.

The amount of complaints I have are astronomical lol this place is falling apart and the staff gives zero Fu}#s about what anyone wants .. the food is low grade from the Buffett to all the restaurants.. everything is an upsale especially if you came with more than 4 people .. be prepared to pay 100 US to get a seat in any of the restaurants or pay for any bottles of wine that equal to 100 US ..the smell in building number 5 all the rooms and in the Buffett is horrendous and you won’t get use to it .. the pool and beach furniture has never been upgraded since they opened .. this place is not worth your money .. it’s diabolical they charge 5 star prices for this dump .. I was dying for them to ask me how my stay was but they did not dare ask any of us that question lol ROYALTON WILL NEVER get my business again and I tell anyone and everyone to STAY FAR AWAY

Overpriced low quality hotel
Mediocre hotel with terrible service. Deserves Max 3 star hotel. We booked all inclusive with TUI holidays and utterly disappointed as it is a Complete rip off from TUI for booking this hotel. Poor entertainment , staff rude and unhelpful.
