Pre visit contact awful
Well I not sure where to start! I have sent the hotel over 10 emails to over 6 different email address! addressed to management Vladimir Myllen, also Blue Diamond head office. One very helpful staff member Sergio, has repeatedly apologised and asked, copied in all emails to please contact me! As of today over a week later nothing! After reading all the latest reviews which are by no means awful. Very distressing. I work in the travel business and in over 25yrs of travel I have NEVER EVER experienced customer service like it, for what is supposed to be a 5star hotel, I am truly lost for words. Reading the latest customer awful experiences I am not looking forward to my visit at all. If any management do take the time and effort to read!! I suggest u speak to Sergio, econcierge who will give you my contact details and emails. service truly truly disgusting. I pity anyone trying to contact this hotel for help in anyway.

January 2023 review
Pros - food variety at restaurants and buffet - staff very friendly and went out of way to help - beautiful lobby - nice rooms (nothings too fancy) - mixology bar was different (in a good way) - lots of activities - nicest resort gym I’ve ever been to Cons - elevators were always broken - lots of seaweed on beach - someone went through out stuff and stole money from our room - very noisy pool (no quiet areas without party music and kids screaming) - water slides felt a tad dangerous lol

Agave Restaurant
Another exceptional dining experience at Agave with great food, and exemplary service with Raul as our Waiter. A great way to spend our last evening at the resort! We had the privilege of Raul's service for both of our dinners.

Great Family Vaca- with lots of fun for the adults too
We visited the Royalton as a group of 10, including children 1 to 8 years old. We had amazing experience, we stayed in the 5000 building and the housekeeping staff was incredible. They cleaned our room every day and did turn down service. We walked by when they were cleaning the rooms between customers and were impressed at how thorough they were being including moving the beds. The kids loved kids club, and the staff there was caring and kept them well entertained (including a kids foam party!). It’s also give you about some time to have fun ;). David, the activities coordinator was awesome and we played beach soccer as well as pool games- he took the time to know our names and always got our family involved in the fun!! Jose was our server at the pool and always took great care of us. We also enjoyed some amazing wines with dinner, these were extra cost, but well worth it (ask to speak with the sommelier- we had Fabián!). Our best meal was the habachi, but honestly the food was great including the buffet. The shows each night we’re also a lot of fun with live music every night. The only not great experience we had was with the front desk, they were pretty curt and unreliable. They probably deal with peoples complaints all day so I get it, but was hoping for better service. All in all 10/10 and would definitely go back!

Choose your room carefully
Be aware that Luxury Junior Suites in Building 8 with mangrove view are not as advertised. No luxury at all. Suites face a power plant that hums 24/7 and overlook the service road which is under the main driveway and runs the entire length of the building, It's a busy place (bins of laundry, skids of supplies coming and going ) plus it's illuminated at night! All that activity and noise render your balcony useless. We also found the furnishings and equipment to be sub-par; a damaged coffee table, tired linens and environmental controls that didn't work correctly. We couldn't regulate the a/c and overhead fan . Finally, line-ups for check-in and check out were very frustrating. Overall, this was not a five star experience. On the plus side, the staff are great and the other facilities such as the pools, the beach and restaurants were fine. We still had a great time!
