Amazing Staff hands down.....
First and foremost we would like to thank the most amazing staff at Royalton CHIC. Wonderful people, hardworking and anything you ask of them they reply with "yes, thank you, my pleasure" and with a smile. We stayed from Feb 19th to the 26th at the Diamond club. Rooms are very clean and the hotel staff are constantly cleaning around the clock. Our butler she was nice, but we met two other Butlers who deserve a huge recognition, they go by the names David and Amado. They werent even our Butlers but they were so nice and always looking after us too when we saw them, answered our every question, and you can honestly tell they trully and genuinely treat you like a close friend rather than a weekly client! David and Amado, we thank you for your kindness!! Diamond pool staff: Angel, Kuri, Kevin, Jessica, Rendon, Efrain, Arianny, Mauricio, I am not really sure how you guys can work so efficiently fast and never miss a beat and still make time to talk to the guests, but it was simply remarkable watching you work as a team. Thank you for constantly looking after us and for your hospitality. We thank you for making everyday a relaxing day!!! Last but not least, another exceptional person we met was the older Gentlemen Ricardo at Hunters. A man of few words, but even with a few words he had my wife smiling and I laughing the whole time during dinner. He is in a class of his own and even though we have been to hundreds of restaurants never had a pleasure of having a server like him. Please give this gentlemen a standing ovation!! Few areas of consideration: 1. Lobby is too cold. 2. Diamond club closes at 10 pm, keep it open atleat till 2 am plz. 3. Rooms are cold, thermostat didnt work well
RCC not all the Hype!
Overall disappointing for an Autograph. Perhaps our expectations were too high from YouTube reviews. One word, "Inconsistent". RCC preferred transport Nexus a mess... 45 min wait for private driver... after 1.5 hrs getting thru airport. Never got welcome drinks on arrival... check-in fast. Our Diamond Club concierge was great, other guests said theirs was non-existent. Room very cold regardless of setting... average decor... 4 hangers in closet. Dinners good to below average... none great. Lunch buffet good... Drinks average... coffee place good. Extra charge for Super Bowl party, even for Diamond Club! Service varied from very good to poor - many staff don't speak English. Get lounge chairs at 7:30am or quickly full, even Diamond Club. Mysterious towel service... learn tricks/process. Beach and it's cleanliness was fabulous. 20 vendors by beach lounge chairs per day, but polite. Night life OK... shows were average (violinist great)... bars good/friendly. Nicest guests we've ever encountered... people wanted to talk... unfortunately, everyone disappointed with RCC... at least a conversation piece. Elevators not sync'd so long waits... constant complaining. Solid 3/5 star resort... could be a 4 or higher with significant change. Beach only draw for us to return... instead, going to Iberostar Coral next... hoping for better experience. Will not recommend to friends/family.
Do some things very well & others not so much
Stayed at the Royalton chic. The room was fresh & clean. However when we check the mini bar, we noticed that there were no drinking glasses, nuts, diet, Pepsi, etc. They do not have ice machines on the floors, so we had to call for ice. Took an hour to get the ice. We paid for the Diamond service. When they ran out out of our top shelf drinks, they tried to push us to other alcohol, saying that it was the same! NO IT IS NOT!! Need to understand their customers. They had a ripping disco blaring on the top floor around 8pm, while we’re trying to have a nice seafood dinner. Asian food restaurant was very poor service. Everything came to us cold when it should’ve been hot. They had two soups on the menu but said they were out. They had a seafood main dish on the menu. But they were out of also so I ended up having teriyaki chicken and rice. The Diamond area at the beach is nice. However, waited 45 minutes for food to be served from our server at the beach. Food was cold again. Hunters restaurant French onion soup was cold. Did not bring our drinks before the meal, had soup and salad and still waiting on our drinks. Very noisy! Do want to point out that their daily buffet was excellent, with a wide variety. Warning Pools are cold, not heated. Diamond lounge is very small, 3 tables, no traditional bar, just a wall unit with a bartender who disappears to get glasses, as they only have paper cups available. The food offering was pathetic mostly vegetables, and some desserts. The entertainment that they provided was very good. Had a blast at the silent disco. The fire show was excellent. The pool parties were real fun! Our butler Steph was excellent & followed up on all of our request promptly. She checked with us every day! Sadly she left the position at the hotel. The person who replaced her tried hard, but let things fall through. We had schedule a bell man to bring out luggage down. He never showed up. The check out process is cumbersome as you cannot just leave your room and go to the airport. You have to go to the diamond lounge so they can a cut off your wristbands, (which I understand) However, you also have to get a release form or the outside guard will not let you leave the property! One patron told us that they would not let her girlfriend leave because she did not have the check out papers. they tried to explain that the other girl was still in the room and going to stay a day longer so the original girl could not leave without a huge fiasco at 6:30 AM.
We were in the chairman suite with the BEST Butler, the property has to offer!! Amado was very attentive, very sincere and passionate about his job. He handled every intricate detail of our trip and reservations. He even carried my sweatshirt to the room so I would not have to hold it while at dinner.. He made sure that my champagne request was fulfilled, and even went the extra mile to set it up and write a personal letter. He made every part of our stay enjoyably pleasant and I would not only recommend him to every guest i book, but I would make a special request for him on my next stay for sure! He even made sure that we were checked out and to our transfer safely!! a true gentleman
A party hotel with average beach/pool setting
There are shows every day. Tons of drinks in the mini-bar in your room that are included in your room rate. Lots of choices for buffet lunch. Dinners at Sky lounge were actually free (tips additional), but the information indicates charges (we were also told at check-in we would have to pay there). Thanks to a lady from customer service, who told us it was free, we got a wonderful dinner there by only paying tips! and there was no line. Service is almost the same as a Michelin stared restaurant! They recognized Bonvoy elite members. They gave you the same access as their Diamond club members, I believe. So you would have less trouble to find pool chairs, and you could eat served breakfast (a small menu though). Do not go there if you prefer quietness. There is no special with their pools and beach
