    Ignore the negatives

We stayed at the RDC for 10 nights and I could have stayed much longer. Wasn't expecting much after reading so many negative reviews but was pleasantly surprised at this little part of paradise. All staff we interacted with were pleasant, friendly and approachable. Food was average but always plenty of it. Also plenty of choice at the bar too, cocktails were lovely. There's a 'snack bar' towards the end of the resort that serves only freshly cooked, made to order burger, chips or jerk chicken and this was lovely! Felt comfortable leaving the resort to walk to the supermarket and patty shop. Sharkies is a short walk from the hotel too so we did that on occasion. Arranged a taxi outside of the hotel to take us on excursions they were amazing. Dunns River, 9 Mile and more. Entertainment team provide daily poolside entertainment, music, quizes etc. Evening entertainment was always good, singers, dancers, circus acts, fire breathers and more. The grounds are absolutely stunning, the gardeners here do an amazing job everything was so tidy and clean, really really beautiful. The beaches too, sand is swept often and always plenty of sunbeds. I absolutely loved my time here and would return in a heartbeat. Thank you everyone at the RDC for an amazing holiday.

First time but not the last

We had such a fantastic stay here. We stayed in bungalow in thr gardens, it was fantastic. The room spacious had everything we needed for our stay. The grounds of the hotel and stunning. Our room was cleaned everyday with fresh towel. The main restaurant was fine always found something tp eat, only once there was no plates so i asked for them and they came out. We spent loads of time at the beach Odette was amazing at the bar. Get to know the staff like we did on his day off Sea Breeze took us out to show is the real Jamaica it was amazing. The snack bar was great. Amazing burgers. We had a meal at the tai restaurant too and we also ventured out for a meal and to get pattys. We did this when the locals came to stay as it does get busy. Don't be afraid to go outside we found it to be fun to get talking to the locals. The entertainment was ok and there are plenty of drinks to chose from either bar. The beaches are well kept as are everything else. We will definitely return.

    Hotel Decameron run away bay

The Hotel was ok on the hole, the room was lovely, but the staff in the dinning hall were so slow to clear the tables, it was planful. the food choice was poor, and at the weekends when the locals arrive it`s hard to find a table to sit at, and once you do your next problem is finding food to eat! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

    Poor food and service

Do yourself a favour and book somewhere else. The accommodation is clean but very basic and dated. The restaurant buffet service is to be avoided and the bootable restaurant service the same food as the buffet but don’t expect a silver service. The buffet regularly runs out of food specially when these is a local party in. We are 6 day in out of 11 and 5 day the buffet has been cleared. The hotel fails to replenish the buffet. The food is very poor school meals quality which would be closed down by Ofsted. You are warned.

Chef “Neal” was very obliging and varied at meal times!

As alkaline vegans, head chef Neal took the time to deliver great tasting dishes especially for us, he is an amazing and very talented chef, a true credit to royal Decameron club Caribbean but I feel his cooking talent is beyond his current position, all the best for the future Neal, head hunters are coming for ya! ;-)
