No way near 5*, the staff were rude and unhelpful with any issues just a blame game. The hotel was very tired in need of an upgrade and a lick of paint. The food was meh and if you wanted to go to one of the special restaurants it’s usually a half an hour wait and then barely any food out and the staff didn’t come to refill your drinks. There is also no enforcement of any rules everyone seems to do whatever they want resulting in dirty corridors and paths. There was drinks and food left everywhere for insects and animals to eat and the pools were filthy. The entertainment in the evening was okay but this is a part resort so if you wanted a relaxing stay don’t book here. The activity’s stated during the day never seemed to happen and if you want to go to the beach there aren’t any umbrellas or anything so you have to sit in the sun. Would not return to this hotel there are much nicer resorts near by.

Food Poisoning- Dirty
The hotel is not clean, at all. Pools are cloudy. Warm. Feels more like a roadside motel than a resort. 2 nights before we left, I got food poisoning from the main buffet. I had no drinks all day, it was only food at the resort I consumed. I was violently ill for 12 hrs. Fever and all. I think it was the salad I ate, that’s the only thing. But could have been cross contamination of anything. This is my second stay here. Last year it was a decent place for the price, but after all the reviews and TikToks on the place, you think management would take notice. They haven’t. The resort is on the decline. Stay somewhere else. Punta Cana is a beautiful place. Riu Replica is not. Also, they never came by our room to replenish water. I always had to put in a request.

We found cheap airline tickets for Punta Cana and decided to stay at RIU Republica. We loved it. Will go again.

Hotel is ok for the price, shops at the hotel or anywhere in the touristic area are a rip off, they will charge you up to ten times the regular price, everyone there wants your money, I bought coffee bags to bring home and the people at the airport took it from me, as far as I know it’s not illegal to bring coffee in the airplane , beach was beautiful

The Hotel overall was Fantastic Service from the Staff was absolutely Amazing The Hotel itself could do with an UPGRADE but that’s all as other RIU Hotels we have been too are a lot more up to date with Technology and Comfort
