Best 60th birthday celebrations!
We stayed here in October 2023 for my 60th birthday. We went with our adult family group and friends. There was so much entertainment both day and night. Fun Size and her dancers were outstanding! They had unlimited energy, always friendly, happy and playful. Michelle looked after us at the bar, even remembering our orders each time so drinks were ready to go. The white party, the glow party, foam party, beach party, pool games, quizzes, mind blowing evening performances, there was something for everyone. The food was very good, we nearly always ate the Jamaican cuisine. I'd like to shout out to all the staff by name, but I'm afraid I may miss someone out, so a big THANK YOU! to all of the animation team, the bar staff, the dining staff and house keeping. We stayed at Riu Negril last year (Christmas 2022) for my husbands 60th we went with the family and our grandson. We had a Christmas we will never forget, the Riu made it a magical Christmas. I'll always have the image in my mind of my grandson waving to Santa on a bout as he sailed up to shore with gifts for all the children. So this is why we chose the Riu again because we were 100% pleased with the Riu.

Great hotel
This hotel is very close to the airport. You do hear the planes but you tend to forget them. This is a lively hotel. The entertainment team are 5 star. They work very long hours and defo need more pay. I seen them rehersing at 10am and staying till 11 or 12pm. Every day. They always had a smile on their face and good to help. Mj, speculular dancer. Funsize brilliant especially when she done her ballet dance peice. It not always about twerking. Colorz, kitty kat and many others. I will go again. They bring the fun to the resort. As for the hotel. My room was clean and a good size. The food was not authenic jamaican. Felt like it was watered down. No spice or scotch bonnet to the food. We deh a jamaica 🇯🇲 i come fi mi food. 40usd to go Kfc. Walk round the corner myself. 150usd for dolphin experiance with tui. 50usd per person for dunns river and ricks cafe. 7usd for a can of coke. 15usd for a rizla 40usd for sun cream 10 usd for a toothbrush. The prices are a rip off. U have to go into town for the locals price. My partner is white british and he felt uncomfortable by the amount of times men keep approachin him to buy things. When other people next to us wasnt being hassled. Some locals have the mentality if your British you are rich. Which is not the case. I think the hotel need to do a shuttle service for customers to go to the mall and strip and back without being charged 20usd per person for a 5mins ride. The hotel beach was man made and wasnt as smooth. The cocktails were nice but not that strong. They can put mkre run in it if asked. There was never any food at the snack bar. I think hotel need to put food out. I asked on more than 1 occassion at 1am is there any food, and they said no.

Had a great holiday the shows are amazing especially the Michael Jackson show not to be missed. The staff and entertainment staff are fantastic nothing is too much trouble. Love the music round the pool and pool games. Favourite restaurant was Italian the steak is to die for. We did Dunne River amazing experience, also Rixs Cafe was very good especially the boat trip to it. Beach is clean and sea is like a hot bath
