    Won't stay again

This hotel stay was for my niece's graduation at NYU. My uncle does a ton of business in Mexico and stay at RIU properties. He has a ton of points so he used some of them for our family to stay at this hotel. Positive aspects: 1. If you planning on seeing lots of theater, this location is perfect. 2 minute walk to 7th Ave. 2. Check-in was fast and efficient. If you download the app you can check-in the day before. Made it very easy simple. I had seen pics of long registration lines, but we didn't experience that. We arrived about 5:15pm and were the second family in line. 3. The lobby has a small bar with several tables. Good for meeting family/friends to plan the day or touch base. As well, there is an outside patio in front of the hotel. 4. There is a Dunkin' directing across the street. Made for the perfect place to stop for coffee before heading out or returning for the night. 5. The Longacre Tavern is next door to Dunkin'. Good pub like food and a fun atmosphere. Open really late. 6. Plenty of electrical outlets and USB ports in the rooms. 7. The elevators are fast and plentiful. Negative aspects: 1. This is not really a 4 star hotel. You're paying for the name. It's a nice property, clean and well maintained but is in no way 4 star. 2. The rooms are very basic. No closet. There's an apparatus for hanging clothes with 2 drawers and 2 shelves. It also houses the safe and refrigerator. This is something you would see in a motel, not a 4 star hotel. The desk is just a piece of wood attached to wall; no drawers. It was fine to use as an additional counter but that's it. The night stands have 2 small drawers; not even the height of a standard prescription bottle. Not useful at all. 3. The bathroom was a single sink and very little counter space. There's a small shelf above the toilet you can use. There's a makeup mirror. The hair dryer is attached to the wall. This makes it difficult for someone to be drying their hair and someone else using the bathroom or shower. 4. The shampoo and body wash are a combo product in a dispenser. Horrible. Buy or bring your products from home. This shampoo combo product makes your hair like straw. 5. 47th street is always busy and packed with cars. So if you use Uber or need a taxi, walk to 6th Ave. 6. No real doorman so be prepared to get your own taxi. 7. The AC unit has a mind of its own. Could not control the temperature at all. Not new to using a AC unit. This one was a stumper and it was either hot or freezing. 8. Lastly, the breakfast situation is ridiculous. Check in on the lobby level, wait in line, then go to the 5th floor. The wait on Friday morning at 8:30 was 50 minutes.

    Rui plaza manhattan new york

Lovely central hotel, staff Lovely but they don't have tea/coffee facilities in the rooms, which they need. Considering the size of the hotel the lounge area is very small and the bar area that serves food as well is no where big enough to cope with the amount of people wanting to use it. Breakfast Lovely but the queueing in the lobby before being taken up in the lift to the 5th floor, then queueing again is time wasting, had we known how busy it gets, we wouldn't have booked Breakfast. But overall a good base hotel

    Great place to stay.

On a family visit to New York , we stayed at the Riu Manhattan Times Square. Fabulous location right in Times Square and walking distance to many locations. However, despite the hustle and bustle outside, we were not bothered by excessive noise once in our room. Our room was very clean and of a good size with 2 queen beds. There was daily room servicing but no tea and coffee facilities. Staff were really friendly and polite. We took breakfast between 7-7.30 each day and although very busy it was well organised with minimal wait and plenty of choice and quantity. Later sittings however seemed to incur longer waits. Luggage store a bonus on check out day as our flight was not until evening. Would definitely stay here again.

    Nice Enough but………..

Hotel and staff were nice enough and fabulous location however as most people have said, breakfast is a nightmare!! Waited 40 minutes one day and found they were clearly everything away so no choice of anything which was understandably disappointing to say the least. You queue downstairs then queue upstairs then queue for food I’ve been to many hotels around the world and this was the worst breakfast system I have ever encountered!

    Recommend This one

Visiting this hotel is a must. The hotel has 49 floors, we weee put on the 41st floor but I didn’t like being so high so we asked to change to a lower floor. The staff were very helpful and changed our room to the 7th floor. The hotel is perfectly situated to Times Square and Broadway. Breakfast was excellent. It catered to everyone with plenty of choices. The only odd thing was you need to go to the lobby and queue and the staff take you in the lift up to the 5th floor to the restaurant but it was run very well and didn’t cause any issues All staff work hard and are always happy to help. The hotel is spotlessly clean. We didn’t hear any outside noise neither did our friends. It offers a small cafe/bar where the food is lovely and reasonably priced(beer is also good). I’d recommend this hotel.
