Stayed for two weeks in August and had the most incredible time. I'll get the only negative out of the way first. The pool area is not big enough for the hotel and despite the rule people put towels on sunbeds to reserve them. Onto the positives. All the staff were friendly and helpful, we were greeted by a very cheery lady who had great pleasure in informing us we'd been upgraded free of charge as it was my birthday during our stay. Rooms are spacious clean well equipped and modern. Reception area is immaculate and the bar/coffee shop are great. Breakfast is amazing with good food and plenty of choice. Buffet was the best we'd experienced again, good food great choice. We loved the Italian ,steak crystal and Japanese restaurants, but were disappointed with the Mexican although the staff again were amazing, sadly the food wasn't. There is pepes food for a burger chips etc near the pool which we used and found good. Scuba caribe are on site with a good variety of trips (cheaper than Tui). We didn't use the entertainment but there was plenty to do, you could be as loud or quiet as you wanted your holiday to be. Special shout out go to Graceila who's interpersonal skills and friendliness were incredible. Christina was also so friendly in the bar. Franchiso in the Italian was so welcoming and professional. German served us drinks near the pool with quick wit and funny humour but never unprofessional. All round incredible and would certainly recommend

Riu palace Riviera Maya
This was such a perfect little get away from all the problems … everything about this resort is beyond perfect. Everything smells so nice , compared to other resort that we been to Mexico where everything smelled moldy . This resort works so hard to keep everything cleaned , and you can smell as Soon as u enter . Food was amazing , it’s a 10 min walk from 5th ave so the location is right on spot. Beach area is breathtaking and the water is so clear.( at least when we were there it was crystal clear) The entertainment at night or night show could be better if they added more shows and kicked some of them out .. that said it needs work a bit. Other than that it was a great stay and we enjoyed it.

We had a great time! This is a great family resort! We have been there several times and will go back. Monica and Davida are super managers! Mendez in The Krystal restaurant is wonderful. Carlos at breakfast and lunch is really good too! Our rooms are always clean and a shout out to house leaping , I don’t think they ever go home,,,, we will be back again soon.

Outstanding
Been going to this resort since it opened. It has only become better and better. The food and service are 2nd to none. Will be going back for another vacation in December. The new year's celebration is just fantastic.

Its the palace ….love it and will definitely be back !!
First let me say I love RIU resorts and this one definitely did not disappoint!! It was absolutely perfect for a girls getaway ! Right off the top staying at this resort you get privileges to THE OTHER 3 properties down the street all walking distance from one another ! Can eat lunch at those and you have access to the bars and amenities! The beach here is swimmable just have to get pass the seaweed . There is a jet ski /parasail /banana boat rental company sharing the same sand as the hotel if you’re looking to book for a decent price 85$ 30 mins. Non motorized sports included with your stay here. There are lots of locals selling merch near the beach but quick no they do tend to leave. Sercurity was present but not enforcing anything. The rooms are amazing open concept not much privacy if that’s your thing. Unsure if they have rooms with privacy curtains ! My best friend and her mom both wanted to take the tub with them back to Texas ….they enjoyed thoroughly . Two sinks in room ..toilet room is stand alone. Shower head was amazing loved the built in shelves in there, bed was decent pillows my favorite. The food is of course is amazing per usual of the palace resorts. The lamb chops on the buffet and on the menu in the Italian restaurant absolutely delightful ! The grounds are well groomed and maintained. Check in smooth staff very detailed with information. You do not need reservations at the speciality restaurants they all operate first come first serve . Only compliant came with one of the robes hanging was very stained which I called and they exchanged quickly. Download the app it’s updated daily and very easy to use and you can keep with what is going on on the property. Silent disco was amazing , The all white party (neon party depending on what Friday you’re visiting the property is held here too) was super packed at the sister RIU tequila …. It was hot, crowded and bar lines excessive . Only stayed for about 1 hr ! Shuttles constantly running. I absolutely loved everything about this resorts and absolutely , undoubtedly would recommend it to all! The swim up bar pool is adult only love that it is separate . I wish they had the music playing there as they do RIU tequila . Umbrellas are scarce as ppl do get there early to move and save. I will definitely be back to this property
