100% Recommend this hotel!
This was the cleanest resort I have ever been to in Mexico! The food was amazing at all the restaurants and the buffet had a great variety of options. Cappuccino’s at the sports bar were delicious and drinks around the pool came often! We found the staff really friendly and have only great things to say about this resort!!

Clean R&R
If you’re looking for a low key, clean place to get some R&R – this is it. If you’re looking for entertainment and a “party” – this is not. We came down for our daughter’s spring break and while we loved the sunshine and warmth, she was beyond disappointed in the lack of events at the pool and in the evening. A couple things of note: you will NOT check in before 3pm. No exceptions – 3pm is check in time. The food is OK – nothing I would deem “amazing” but also not disgusting. The music at the pool needs significant improvement. Don’t bother with the resort spa – go to the beach and get a 60 min massage for $20. There is ONE bathroom for the entire pool. Elevators are slow/small. However, again, if you are looking for a clean, well maintained resort – this may be the perfect place for you. The end suites are worth the upgrade (walk in closet, nicer room, jacuzzi on the balcony)

Take your chances at a different property. This is a huge disappointment.
I will start with the best about this property because there are only 2 things worth mentioning. The food in the buffet area is excellent. The facility is very clean. This place is a huge disappointment for an All Inclusive, 4-5 star. This is a 1 star at best. Front desk gal was rude and disrespectful. No maps or paper information available about the facility, only an app that doesn't work. Bottled water is very limited. Only place you can get bottled water is the front desk; not at pool, not at restaurants. One pool towel per person, thats it. They have towel police. There is no way you can have any more towels, just one! No food around pool. Lounge chairs and tables around pool were disgusting. Dirty, filthy, sticky. Everything, I mean everything is run down, dirty or has 10 coats of paint. Sports bar is a joke. One bartender, no help. Food in a refrigerator that you help yourself and heat in a microwave, yourself. You have to pay to play Foosball, or use the pool table. Not a warm and friendly sports bar. This also used as the coffee bar in morning. Not acceptable. Our room was clean but everything was old and worn. Bedding was worn, pillows worn, bed is horrible and uncomfortable. Furniture and fixtures, worn and out dated. Just water, soda and beer in the refrig, not a single snack or extra. A/C was worthless. Musty and smelly. I had to wash everything on my return home. Shower tub combo was old and stained. One night we had no hot water, after I complained, we had brown, I truly mean brown hot water for a bout 45 minutes. We were afraid to shower in it. No one ever did explain anything about that. We had a room with 2 double beds. Two towels, two washcloths, thats all you get. Begging doesn't work. This place is not representative of an all inclusive property, nor a 4-5 star property. My concerns to employees went unaddressed and unnoticed. We have stayed at many, many all inclusive resorts for over 25 years. Try your luck somewhere else, not this Riu. Unless you like purple and red velvet furnishings and gold foil decorations from the early 70's, this my be the place for you.

Fabulous Resort
Our Riu Palace Pacifico experience was amazing! Fantastic restaurants, best smorgasbord we’ve had at any resort, cleanliness was fantastic. Staff always cleaning everywhere, the pool bathrooms were amazing clean always. So much to do at the resort there was no real reason to leave. Evening shows were great and the entertainment staff were amazing! Highly recommend this resort! We will definitely go back there!

Always excellent
RIU Palace had always been excellent! This was our 6th time at this one. Paeola, Alfredo and Julian at the main restaurant always go above and beyond with exceptional service. Hotel is always clean and food is terrific
