Now An Annual Tradition
My family of 4 has been staying at the Riu Palace for the last 3 years and we LOVE it. My kids look forward to it every year. The property is clean and kept up well, the food is delicious, the entertainment team is fantastic and all of the staff are friendly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

Riu Palace in Cabo San Lucas - Great Bang For Your Buck
My wife and I went to the Hotel Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas for a 3 night stay in January 2025 and here are my thoughts in no particular order: - we are mid 40s Americans with grown kids, the kids were not invited. - we would consider going back with or without our kids - pricing was better than fair. We definitely got our money's worth. - rideshares are a problem if you want to leave the hotel in one as the front gate will not allow them to enter the property to pick you up. We found out the hard way by standing out front waiting for a ride that never came. You need to walk to the front gate, which takes about 10 minutes. You can arrive to the hotel in a rideshare and be taken directly to the front door. - we used the SJD airport and took an Uber each way. It takes about 40 minutes and is reasonably priced. When you arrive at SJD, you need to go up to the second level to be picked up by Uber. I wish I knew this ahead of time. - the hotel is beautiful and property is quite large. You will get your steps in. - there are several pool options, both family friendly and adults only. They also have canopies to provide shade for those who don't do well in the sun. - the staff is very nice and it seemed like everyone spoke English - I wish the check in process included a lot more information than we were given. This is my biggest complaint for several reasons. 1. The woman who checked us in was a bit short with us and said the mobile app would answer all of our questions. The app is bad and really didn't help much. 2. I requested a map of the property and got one, however the RIU property is divided into 3 areas - Palace, Santa Fe and Baja. The map I was given was for the Palace division and I didn't think twice about it. Two days later I found out that our room in the Palace also gives us access to the entire Sante Fe division. The Sana Fe section was not included in the map we were given, so I didn't know what we were missing. After exploring the Sante Fe part we were disappointed we didn't know sooner. I feel like I should have been given a map of the portion of the property we had access to. 3. There are parties and activities, but it's really not clear where these things happen. There's a chance different variations of the parties happen in each of the 3 divisions, but I'm not sure about that. On our last night we made it to the White Party at Santa Fe, and it was an absolute blast. 4. The rules are that Baja is the top property, with access to everything, Palace guests also have access to Santa Fe, while Santa Fe only has access to Santa Fe. There is nothing wrong with Santa Fe and I would say more children were there than Palace and that is where the water park is for the kids. - the food is average to above average and there is lots of it. Breakfast was my favorite. - we opted for a room with our own small pool. It looked cool, but really didn't get used. These pools would likely be best during the hottest times of year. You do not get to control the temperature, and it was colder than we'd like. The main pools were not cold, they were perfect. If you get a room with a pool, you want to be facing one of the main pools. - pool towels are treated like a currency. You get a towel card at check in, which you trade for a single towel at the towel stand and then when you return it you get the card back. You may not have 2 towels. The Palace has maybe 5 different pools, but only 1 place to get towels. If you are staying at the Palace but go to a pool within Sante Fe, they will tell you to take your towel card on a 3-mile walk back to the Palace towel stand while you are dripping wet. - similar to other all-inclusives, other guests seem to think they own a pool chair by throwing a towel on it at 6am and returning to the pool after lunch. There are plenty of chairs for everyone and there is no need to do this. - the views from the beachside pools and dining options are spectacular. You'll see rock formations, cruise ships and yachts. - the slightly older crowd (50+) hung out in the Palace pools, while there was more of a party scene in the Santa Fe beachside pools. - there is waiter/waitress drink service at the Palace pool chairs. You can get up and get your own drinks easily, but this was very nice. - getting a lay of the land when you first arrive would be a good idea. Maybe ask for a tour at check in. I regret not asking for this. - we really enjoyed morning walks on the beach. Hope that helps!!

Cabo Riu Palalce
The hotel was very nice. If I had to complain it was the quality of the food. Seemed like everything came from a freezer and warmed up. But it tasted good and had a great variety. I will defintely go again.
