Excellent first RIU Antillas /Aruba Experience !
This was both our first visit to Aruba and to a RIU property and was an amazing experience for both. We stayed for two weeks in a Junior Oceanview suite with a king bed. The suite had been recently renovated and was very clean. (Housekeeping was great throughout our stay ) We were in suite 1310 (not superstitious) and this provides a wonderful ocean and pool view. There would be a fabulous sunset, however the new St.Regis under construction blocks this. Some folks commented that construction noise was problematic, however we did not notice this. Service at the Riu was above and beyond anything we have experienced. Our Sunwing rep basically abandoned us at the front door and we lined up at the front desk. Once our turn to check in the young man said Sunwing has its own check in area. Rather than just pointing he walked us across the lobby to correct area to unsure we were taken care of. Entire hotel spotless. Food at buffet restaurant Atlantis exceptional . Used for breakfast and dinner. Interesting experience first day...Ms. Melaria (management team) stopped by our table to ask how we were and we said we are finding our way around but really don't know about facilities or restaurants etc. She then spent 10 minutes table side to inform us where everything is and how the restaurants work and so on. Very informative and over the next 2 weeks she touched base with us to see how we were doing. So special ! Thanks to Kenneth aka Hugh at the bar near the beach (not pool bar) and Melania , Miriam and Sabrina who took such good care of us at Atlantis and sometimes Mamok."Pops" at the pool, she showed up later serving drinks at Carnival and Atlantis too. So many fantastic people to remember who made it a special experience. Our last contact as we left was Merlin at front door and asked how our visit was as he loaded our luggage and when we said Great, he said Well then I will see you next time. So from the first to last moment we were treated like family

Wonderful place, wonderful employees and great food. It was great coming back and we look forward to continuing. When employees remember you and show their happiness to see you again....that means something. We have seen the same people for years. Of course, the weather and water being perfect was an added plus.
Not worth the money unless your a boozer
This hotel was run down. Mold in the shower. The food was average but plentiful. The pool by bar was nasty nasty. We dont drink so it was definitely not worth what we paid for the package. Lots of drunk people. Hard to get into the better restaurants
