Beautiful Resort !
Very nice resort . Check in was a breeze . Staff was incredible. Very polite couldn’t do enough for you . Rooms were nice , spacious and upgraded. We stayed in building 6 which was on the quiet end away from restaurants and pool which is exactly what we wanted. Room staff was very good my only complaint was that they were loud beginning at 7:00 am . Beach was incredible!!! Only downside was people walking the beach and selling but if you said no thanks they walked away. If you sit back a little further they will not bother you at all . Beach servers were fantastic we never had to wait for a drink . Pools were clean and also had great service. We were not into the loud music and games during the afternoon but no problem we just moved to the beach . Food . Jerk chicken everyday at the beach was delicious. Burgers and hotdogs were not bad either. Dinner : First night we ate at the buffet and it was very average. For the gourmet restaurant people start lining up at 6:00 for 6:30 seating. We were able to get in the Japanese, Italian and Gourmet restaurant around 8:00 and all three were very good. I just do not understand why they do not take reservations? I probably would return because of the staff , beach , service and the beauty of the resort overall . The only hesitation that i would have would be because of not being able to make reservations for dinner .

Jamaica No Problems
We loved our stay at Riu Negril, it's naturally beautiful. But what made the stay wonderful were the people, the workers could not be more kind and caring. It was genuine and comes easy to them. We would highly recommend Riu Negril.

Great hotel,we like it.
This has been our 16th visit to this hotel, excellent. If we had taken notice of reviews before, we would never have booked. We only go in buffet restaurant, plenty of choice, we always find something to eat. Staff in restaurant can't do enough for you, brilliant. Bars, sometimes you have to wait, your on holiday, no rush Let's address the comments drinks are watered down, most definitely not, could I suggest if you want it stronger ask, also ice is water ask them not put too much in, yes you've guessed it, less ice no water, or make use of mini bar in room, have your drinks as strong as you like. Seller's on the beach, just say no, they carry on walking. The seaweed in the sea, is seagrass, natural. To many staff here to mention, they are all excellent, some day's they may have an off day, don't we all, just smile you'll get one back. And finally we have booked to go back end of October can't wait. One love enjoy yourselves, don't forget life's to short to moan all the time, you never know what's round the corner. Irie Mon

Family resort, No Elevators
I've been to one other all-inclusive in Montego Bay which was so much better. Check in was easy. Except we did not know how far away Block 4 ( yes, they are called blocks) was. We walked at least 10 mins. Our rooms were on the 3rd floor. I have a bad knee and they have 0 elevators! If you have issues with stairs, book a first floor room. Returned to the front desk and finally got my room switched to a first floor. It was my birthday and the front staff said I would get a fruit basket and a cake ( after informing the Hostess). The rooms were fine. The TV had awful reception and it was not working for two days. No communication at all from the hotel. The frig was stocked with beer, sodas and water. Above the frig were the hard liquors with a sticker. The food was hit or miss. I like smoothies and had them in the morning, until I saw they were not freshly made, they came from large jugs. Mango was consistently mushy and not fresh. I was hoping there would be more Jamaican dishes, like jerk chicken. That was available on the beach..waiting in a long line. The akee and salt fish was heavily seasoned and not very good. I tried each of the restaurants. Some of them had the same food as the buffet. The Asian restaurant was a buffet, nothing impressive. The sushi was not good. The Italian restaurant had limited seating and that, too was ok..it was like Olive Garden. The steak house is worth going to, but you need to cut the fat from the meat. My favorite restaurant was the Gourmet place. All of the food was Great. My friend advised the hostess it was my birthday, as the front desk had said they would bring a cake. Two staff members said Happy Birthday, but no cake. Returned to my room and a plate of fruit was given to me, not a basket..just fruit..very odd. We went back to the front desk to inquire about the cake. Excuse after excuse, 1/2 hr later waiting and being told that hostess got so busy she forgot. She wasn't busy and she wished me a happy birthday when I left. I finally got my cake, but missed out on sharing it with the other patrons at the restaurant. There was basically no outside entertainment. Other resorts have contests and constant activity. Inside you could play Bingo and other games. The entertainment was below par. The drinks were good, but very watered down. I was disappointed that Reggae music was not playing throughout the resort. Music adds to the experience. There are several pools, which was a nice feature. There is also a kids pool. The main problem was staff did not communicate with eachother. It was so apparent. I called to say my frig had not been restocked after 3 days. Someone came that afternoon and brought soda, water and beer. Then at 800pm, another person came to restock my frig. He was not friendly and looked in my frig and asked what I was talking about. I indicated that someone came in the afternoon. The majority of ppl from the wait staff to the cleaning ppl were very friendly and sociable. This is definitely a kid friendly resort. Stay out of the stores on ground. The prices are way jacked up. I needed a cheap pair of sunglasses, their CHEAP pair were $40.00 I walked onto the beach and checked out the tents; Jamaican art, food, and $7 sunglasses. Overall, it was not a horrible experience, but things did not run smoothly. The Hotel needs to let guests know that there are no elevators and the distance to #3 or #4 are far. They should invest in golf carts and offer to take guests to their rooms. This was a mediocre experience compared to a 5* in MO Bay. I will not be returning
