Spa experience at Dunamar
I had a full massage from Teri I can say this was amazing .. I get regular massages at home as I wrestle and this was unbelievable at the Rui Dunanar The reception was so helpful with what you are looking for … The staff make sure you’re well looked after along the way and can honestly say this was a great experience right through and thanks again …. I’ll be back in next week before I leave
Good value. Limited all inclusive
This is a big nice resort, but limited in many aspects. Beach is great, food and drinks are ok, but certainly limited in several areas to make this a great all inclusive resort. Pros: - Budget. Overall good value vs cost. - Beach. Costa Mujeres area (north of Cancun) is a very nice one, less crowded and way less seaweed than rest of Cancun/Playacar area. - Food. Food in buffets and specialty (night) restaurants was ok. - Pools. Nice and clean pools. - Nice activities and kid pool area. Cons: - No room service. There was only one lobby snack bar with sandwiches and burritos stored in fridges for microwave, and it was not allowed to take food out of bar to rooms. However, there is a hotel store where you can buy snacks (chips, candies, etc.) that will certainly end up in rooms. - No snacks, fruit or any food choice between meals or late at night. During afternoon, only option of food in pool area was grill snack that was open only for few hours and always long wait lines, as food stream was slow. Both the no room service, and food/snacks availability all time is a big letdown if you're traveling with kids. - Liquor. Very limited selection on brand liquors on bars. Everything served in small plastic glasses (ok from environment). Only draft beer and one kind. Here is a must to bring your own tumbler to avoid spend a lot of time in wait lines. - Wait times at restaurants. We visited during peak/rush season, but overall, we felt we spend too much idle time waiting for table at buffets, wait at snack grill, beach bar, specialty restaurants, etc. It's vacation and no one is on a rush, but perception is you lose a lot of time waiting. - Basic rooms. We got the std room, and while it had everything you may need, felt basic, not luxury nor premium. Bathroom was small and had some qestionable design selections (ie. frosted glass on shower next to bedroom). - Far from CUN airport; including road works it may take you +2hrs to get to/from airport. Far from CUN hotel zone / entertainment area, expensive taxi. Way farthest from them parks or archeological sites (ie. Xcaret, Tulum), so not the best choice if plan to leave hotel within stay.
Would definitely recommend!
Actually I just recommend to my younger cousin bc my mom and her sisters have been to this resort in the past and they all loved it. My cousin was trying to figure out where to vacation before his wife start her new job as a lawyer. He and his wife and son are there right now vacationing.
This is one of the best. I went to the riu dunamar last year for 10 days, the service, food, beach and everything overall is amazing, that’s why we decided to come back this year! The beach is beautiful, almost no seaweed. The service here is unbeatable, we left tip all week because the staff is so pleasant, always smiles on their faces. This place is just wonderful for a break, hopefully we will be back!
Always a pleasure
Always a pleasure, great people, great atmosphere, ambiance is great, abunance of food, service is top notch friendly staff and people, location is great - beach has minimal seaweed as Cancun has been dealing with seaweed for a decade now.. so swimming in the ocean is great.... and the heat/temperature is awesome.
