Great initial Experience, but disappointed with Management
First and foremost, we appreciated the warm and efficient service we received at the bars. The staff were attentive and ensured that we were promptly served, without having to endure long waiting times. It made our evenings all the more enjoyable. While the rooms could use a refurbishment, we found them to be clean and tidy, which is of utmost importance to us. The comfort of our accommodation contributed positively to our overall experience. Another noteworthy aspect was the quality and abundance of the food options available. We were pleased with the variety and taste of the dishes served, leaving us satisfied after every meal. It was clear that the culinary team put a great deal of effort into catering to the diverse tastes of your guests. We were particularly impressed by the attention given to maintaining the cleanliness of the beach. It was reassuring to witness the daily removal of seaweed, ensuring a pleasant and pristine environment for all visitors to enjoy. Now, I would like to address a couple of concerns that arose during our stay. On two separate occasions, we were awoken by disturbances in the corridor caused by heavily intoxicated individuals engaged in altercations. As you can imagine, this was quite unsettling for our family, and we hope that measures can be taken to prevent such incidents in the future, ensuring the safety and peace of mind of all guests. Additionally, there was an unfortunate incident involving the cleaning of sunbeds near the pool area. The cleaning attendants used bleach, which unfortunately damaged my daughter's designer T-shirt. I promptly reported the issue to your reception, where I was assured that the matter would be resolved and that compensation would be provided. I was given a reference number and instructed to send an email to the relevant department upon my return home. However, I must admit that I encountered some difficulties in pursuing the compensation process with RIU. Despite sending four emails as requested, I have received no response, and I am disappointed to learn that due to bank fees, the company is unable to reimburse me. This has left a sour taste in our mouths, as it feels as though our concerns are being overlooked. Regrettably, this has influenced our decision not to patronize your company in the future and discourages us from recommending it to others. I trust that you will take our feedback seriously and address the issues mentioned. It is my hope that future guests will enjoy an even better experience at your hotel, with improved safety measures and a more customer-focused approach when handling incidents. I believe that by making these adjustments, you can maintain your reputation as an exceptional vacation destination.

Beautiful views, unhelpful people
Food and drink is great, plenty of options. Rooms are clean and simple. Although sockets are not the best only 2 worked for us. Views are amazing, beach is right on the door step. No real need to leave the resort. There’s a club that opens at 11pm and 4 bars to choose from plus the restaurants. However I had all of my belongings stolen on the beach, so be extremely careful with your stuff. And don’t expect any help from staff if that happens, you won’t get any. On top of this, staff really try get people involved in activities by the pool everyday, be very mindful of your belongings as its easy to be pulled away from your day bed for water activities. Leaving your phone etc behind. Taxis need to be haggled as they charge anywhere between 250-500 pesos for the same journey. (Be prepared for bribing police if you need their help or have to go to them or if they pull you on the street. Corruption is rife. Hotel zone police station is closed for most things, the downtown station is the only option, bare in mind very busy with locals.)

Best resort
Was my first time at the Riu and I had so much fun, the customer service is great, the best margaritas , the food is delicious, I don’t have anything bad to say about this place, I going to visit this hotel every year.

2nd time there and loved it!
Juan and Miguel and the buffet were outstanding all week! David at the pool bar was excellent as usual! Quiet pool was very nice, much cleaner and more peaceful than the pool bar. The beach was bad the first day with seaweed but they immediately cleared it and the rest of the week was perfect. Will come back again.

You get what you pay for
I would give 5 stars for the price, views, location (very close to downtown and beach side is swimmable. Rooms however definitely needs to be updated. Showers don’t have doors so water ends up on the bathroom floor, toilet is easily clogged? And there molds on the vents too. The beds, sheets and blanket are very thin/worn out. Food is okay I wish they offer more variety, drinks are definitely watered down. They have different shows everynight to keep everyone occupied. No room service, no pool butlers so you’ll have to get your own drinks at the swim up bar Price is very reasonable and if you book directly with them roundtrip airport transfer is included in the price.
