Mar 04, 2026It was great until it wasn't.
I booked a platinum deluxe swimout room and checked in on Sunday, Building 5, room 5005, it was great, atleast I had no complaints. The room was decent and I was really happy with the location. They were renovating the room next door, 5006, all week, no problem until today, Wednesday. I was out enjoying the swimout, the bali bed, the platinum pool bar all morning and then decided that I should probably go eat. So I went to my room for a minute and that is when I discovered that there was an intense noxious odor permeating the room due from the epoxy they were using next door. They kindly offered to move me, but they had no rooms available and so here it is a couple of hours later and I am in a "complimentary " room to rest in until they have a room, of the same level that I paid for, available. I am still waiting, all of my belongings are still in my original room absorbing all of the fumes and I am stuck in this room with no key, so I can't leave, no lunch, none of my belongings and absolutely wasting a good portion of the gorgeous day. Needless to say, I am not happy.

Resort is very clean. Buffet is very, very good. Service is excellent everywhere. Party pool is a lot of laughs and great entertainment. Enrique at the bell desk was awesome and really helped me out. High end liquor and heavy pours if you are on a mission. Once again superb staff.

Meet the Bellhops!!
Everyone! You have to stop and get to know these bellhops- fantastic guys. Very helpful, very friendly. Enrique, Javier, Amaury, and Flavio were the ones I saw the most. Always polite- helpful- and funny. Really enhanced the experience. Thanks again!

Most Amazing Evening Shows
Stayed Feb 16 to Mar 1 2026. Room 1014, or along 1000, great swim out rooms, with sunshine most of the day and away from the noise of the main pool. Good+ food, super clean, very friendly staff, comfortable beds, terrible beach because of seaweed and rocks in the water. Saw deer, racoons, coates, iguanas, etc on the property, entertaining. Unbelievably great shows Monday to Friday in the theatre at 10pm. Don’t miss any of these if you stay here. MUST SEE! Some are great fun, but the Michael Jackson was a huge surprise. By far the very best MJ show I have ever seen, and I’ve seen so many.

My husband & I have been traveling to the Princess properties for years having spent the past three at The Yucatán Adults Only. We were shocked by the complete downfall of the resort in just one year. We were informed upon check in that the Chill Out restaurant & beach club was “closed for renovations.” We were immediately disappointed as we knew our usual routine wouldn’t be happening this year. Instead we experienced the following: Rude & indifferent staffers Filthy bathrooms with broken soap dispensers and clogged toilets Dirty plates & half eaten food strewn in the hallways and stairs Floors that weren’t cleaned for our entire stay Hot room where the a/c could not be controlled Chipping paint, chipped tiles and chipped furniture Dirty and sagging beach cushions Drunk and unruly guests who spent their days saddled up to the pool bar bragging about their drunken exploits the night before. Upon check out - more rudeness and indifference from an obviously disgruntled worker. He appeared to be bothered just by our presence. Due to a call placed from the hotel midweek asking us how our stay was and we expressed our disappointment, the concierge on duty asked to speak to us prior to our departure. As we listed our complaints and explained we wouldn’t be returning ever again, she simply smiled and said nothing other than “ok.” No apology - just “ok.” Wow. Fantastic customer service on full display. The ONLY good thing about our visit was the spa- the massage therapists were lovely and well skilled employees. The property is run down and tired - just like its employees. It’s such a shame because we used to look forward to this vacation every year.
