    Beautiful and Awesome Resort!!!

The Hotel was amazing, staff was awesome, special shout out to Jason bartender, Delmarie forgive my spelling at the Luxury section. There were others, and my housekeeper. There was a few hiccups, that to me was miscommunication at check in, but would return again. The entertaining was on fire. My birthday trip was awesome. Just one recommendation please to explain to the guest on certain amenities and try to be more accommodating at times especially if guests sympathetic and genuine.

    Our favourite place to be

First and foremost, Ocean Eden Bay is our home-away-from-home! We have been here 4 times which is unusual for us because we travel multiple times a year and prefer to try different resorts. Each vacation with Ocean Eden Bay is better than the last which is why we keep coming back. We were celebrating our 10th year of marriage and we both knew that we wanted to spend our anniversary with Ocean Eden Bay. Food: There are so many restaurants at this resort with great options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Seafood was available everywhere and traditional Jamaican foods were in abundance. The fresh fruits were also out and I probably overindulged in mangoes because they are in season. Specifically dinner: Lamb chops are still a good option at the privilege restaurant. I personally like them better than the lamb chops served at blue moon. Thali was incredible! We love Indian food and our last dinner did not miss a beat. We did the butter chicken and curry lamb; both were divine and served with fresh hot naan and perfect basmati rice. It was so good and such a good way to end our vacation! Blue moon’s seafood bouillabaisse was a delight to look at and eat with an assortment of fresh seafood - So good! Captains Market was great for casual dining. We had seafood stir fry, crab legs, and oxtail often. Marlin serves a delicious golden fried fish which I had with mash potatoes and veggies. Sakura was just okay. I think our table was distracted by other louder tables but the food was decent and we would return. The Steakhouse allowed me to order an entree steak and add shrimp for my own surf-turf dinner. The steak was cooked to perfection and the shrimp were just the right size. Unfortunately Red snapper was a bit underwhelming but that was our only not-so-good dinner. The octopus was just not tender enough which was disappointing. We did not order room service because we prefer to roam the resort to dine. Specifically lunch: Red Snapper and Marlin no longer offer buffet style lunch but do a la carte instead; which we enjoyed. Ocean Eden now has a poolside chef offering jerk chicken, rice-n-peas, salad, patties and festival. It is not available everyday but definitely a good addition to dining options. Privilege also has poolside menu service and options are really good. We loved the fish tacos, crab cakes, jerk chicken sandwich and the spicy fries; all really good options and made fresh to order. Marlin has a great shrimp Alfredo; it was so creamy. Beach: The beach is beautiful but definitely more seaweed has accumulated. I will say the employees do a great job of clearing it out by 9:00/10:00 am. The sea hammock has returned and seems larger than the previous. We saw many people taking naps and pictures. The rocks in the sea have definitely increased but nothing water shoes can’t handle. We did the mini catamaran from the resort. It was so refreshing that we wished it was longer. Next time we will try the glass bottom boat. In any case, the beach is mostly calm and relaxing. Entertainment: The Blue team has improved since our last visit in 2023; and music by the pool is more culturally appropriate. Let’s be honest, we come to Jamaica to eat Jamaican food, hear Jamaican music and be immersed into the Jamaican culture. On this vacation, the Blue team members were out socializing, playing games, doing activities and DANCING; which is what we love!!!! The foam party was still lacking more Jamaican music but I guess they were catering to the Americans for that particular event. Housekeeping: Service has gotten a lot better in terms of consistency but turn down service only happened twice out of our 7 day vacation so we sometimes ran out of towels, body wash and hand soap. In-room Mini-bar: We are not sure what was happening but the mini bar in our room would not get stocked properly; which means we would have to message privilege or call guest services to fix the issue; which sometimes took hours. Privilege as a service: We really enjoyed being privilege guests because it gave us access to both privilege lounges for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Also, our favourite bartender “RICH” was in privilege lounge so we loved having access to that bar. We also enjoyed the upgraded minibar in our room as well as the option to use hydrotherapy in the spa. The upgraded mini bar included plantain chips, orange juice boxes, small alcohol bottles "mickeys", red stripe beer, pop/soda, water, and el presidente beer. We didn’t get any robes but we didn’t need them. Privilege Cabanas with butler service are also available by the pool and the beach. Weather: The weather was surprisingly good for that time of year. Did it rain? yes, but not for long and not to heavy = Liquid Sunshine. We were blessed with mostly sunshine and beautiful days. Even on the days that rain/gloom were forecasted, Ocean Eden Bay was beautiful. June is rainy season; which is why we arrived May 28 and left June 4th. We were very appreciative of the sun coming out to play. Lastly: We have to send out special Thank Yous! Thank You to Ms. Gorgette Virgo and Mr. Andre Higgins for upgrading our room and service to Privilege for our anniversary. This was the best of the vacations and the Swim Up Room was spectacular!!! We enjoyed the welcome wine, fruit assortment and card from Ms. Virgo. We also loved our special delivery of Mangoes from Mr Higgins. Special thanks to our favourite bartender “Rich – Island Sauce”. Ask him for his ‘special’. In the end, we truly felt appreciated as repeat guests which is why we will return to this resort in the future. We had a great time and definitely recommend this resort. We’ll be back, sooner than later!
