Be Careful What You Eat
Mr Belltre I responded to your offer of a privilege upgrade 2x's without a response, so I felt a review might open your eyes to my experience which you already know. First and foremost when my niece went to the infirmary to pick up two medications There were other people ill as well. She went to pay the dr over $300 for her visit to Our room and medication. I will not get that money back , and if you think About it, that is a close amount of money to an upgrade privilege anyway. Nor do I need a butler because that is more tip money out of my own pocket. So the upgrade in monetary terms does not add up plus I can not afford Another trip with airfare, ride to and from airport, and pay for a regular room. Did this even cross your mind from someone that got violently sick for 36 hours And missed out on everything. I could not leave my room. Read the drs notes please Would you want to return to a resort where I and my dr at home knew it was food poisoning. I came back to the US and saw my dr the next day because I still hadn’t eaten in over 36 hours. I do thank you for the offer but financially it is not feasible for me or my niece. Would you consider a 4 night stay at one of your other resorts that you are Affiliated with? We wouldn’t ask for privilege upgrade, we just want to have a good time. We were only there for 5 days and only got 2 days to check out the place. Thank you traveler

My First Trip to DR
I fell in love with the attention by all the employees I encounter with during my visit. The night we arrived it was raining so there was not much to see or do. We arrived at the buffet dining room the next morning and was greeted by some amazing waiters. Each morning we would go there just to see our favorite waiters, Keidy, Hector, Fernando, Jairo and Rafael. Our next was Mike's coffee shop, I am a coffee addict as my children would say. Here we met Maria, Dahiana, and Jhon. After Mike's we would head to the pool where we met Carlos and Reynar. We met a couple who was celebrating their 35th anniversary. the husband was in a wheelchair but they made the most of their trip. I liked everything about this hotel, the flamingo, peacock, the many cats and the well kept greenery. I was assigned a butler Wolgan, he was very helpful and made sure we were well taken care of during our stay. All my wonderful friends, Keidy, Fernando, Hector, Jaire, Rafael, Carlos, Reynar, Dahiana, Maria, Jhon, and Julissa. I hope to see you all on my next visit.

Return visit !!!
On arrival we were greeted with bucks fizz and looked after by the lovely staff who guided us to reception and helped with the luggage. A buggy took ourselves and luggage to our room ( in block 9). The room was huge- a HUGE double bed, a sofa, coffee table, television etc. We had emailed and requested a ground floor room and we got one- overlooking the pool !!! Just perfect Exploring the first morning revealed that the hotel is spotless, the gardens are maintained beautifully, and I did like the little "rock" speakers dotted along the main path playing quiet music. As the first morning is always an "early riser" I got some beautiful sunrise photos. The "action" end of the hotel- the reception and area beyond looks like a little town with the lake, eateries, coffee shop, casino, shops, bowling alley and more were also spotlessly clean with the added bonus of a beautiful adult flamingo which appeared to be living in the square. The lake was full of fish and turtles. The buffet was large and varied and even on a "themed" day, if you didn't like the themed food there were lots of other choices and the food was really good. The waiting on staff were brilliant keeping us topped up with water and any other drinks we requested. We ate at the steakhouse- which we had to book. The steaks were amazing and the atmosphere was lovely. Also ate at Route 66- no need to book which was American themed. Great food and plenty to look at all around the restaurant. For most lunches we found the Villa Marina buffet overlooking the beach was a great alternative where you could have a sandwich or burger or a full meal if you felt like it. Beautiful view as well. Mike's coffee shop is always a great alternative if you only fancy a coffee/lemon tea (delicious!!!) and a cake/sandwich Used both of the giant pools- both with a swim up bar. Warmest swimming pools I've ever been in- was like a warm bath during the afternoon. Both clearly well maintained and spotless. Staff could be seen each morning cleaning and checking the water. There were games on the beach in the mornings and by the pool in the afternoon. Not really our thing to join in but fun to watch. We love the beach - always very hot but a welcome breeze by the sea- also with a beach bar. I would probably recommend booking any trips with the tour rep- they are very well organised and usually a good day out- we went to Saona Island and Sharky's catamaran tour. Both were brilliant!! All in all I can't find anything negative to say about this hotel. We had a great time in 2023 and even better in 2024. Hoping very much to go back there

Great experience with friends!
I recently stayed at Ocean Blue and Sand in Punta Cana with a group of friends, and we had an absolutely fantastic time. For the price, I truly enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The food had a great variety and tasted pretty good. The hotel offers a lot of amenities, including a casino, several à la carte restaurants, a buffet, shops on the premises, and entertainment. There’s always something to do, making it a great value for what you pay. Of course, what really made the experience exceptional was the staff, who went above and beyond to ensure our every wish was fulfilled and every need taken care of. Special recognition goes to Leonardo on the shuttle, Elvin at the Privilege restaurant, Carlos at the Privilege pool, and our butler, Harry, for their outstanding service. Because of my exceptional experience I was eager to return to the Dominican Republic. I searched for singles-friendly hotels online. Instead of helpful suggestions, I kept finding advice about tipping with just a couple of singles. Let me be clear: tipping a dollar or two is simply not enough. The staff at these resorts work incredibly hard to ensure you have a memorable experience, and they deserve more than just a few dollars. If you’re staying in a room with butler service, like we did, they will go out of their way to accommodate your every request for an entire week. Tipping them with one or five dollars at the end of that service is frankly insulting. These staff members deserve to be properly compensated for their dedication and effort—tip them fairly for the exceptional service they provide.
