“Not ALL INCLUSIVE”
They only allow you 1 every 3 days to eat at the 2 good ala cart restaurants. So during a 7 night stay you get 2/7. The other 5 days you eat at the buffet, which the food was not at all good! It appeared that whatever was leftover from the night before, got reinvented into something for breakfast or lunch. The cleaning crew was inconsistent in leaving towels! We had a birds nest in our bathroom, that had brown liquid dripping down the wall! The shower had a sewage smell coming from the drain! Not enough lighting on the paths at night! There’s a poisonous tree at the bottom of the steps when you get onto beach that has a sign that says poisonous, do not touch. Cut the tree down!

A great, quiet, chill place to spend a week.
This small resort was very comfortable, fun and relaxing. Our room was clean, spacious and had great temperature control for a very hot climate. I love that we had beach access if we wanted to swim in the ocean, plus two great pools to cool off in on the resort. There are a LOT of stairs and many hills at this resort so we got our exercise. The gym is quite functional and has A/C, which is great. The staff, mostly, were great. Diana and her entertainment team were so much fun, drawing us into water aerobics and pool volleyball most days. Carolina in the buffet was just such a ray of sunshine anytime she served us (almost all the other serving staff was super friendly too). And Byron in the lobby bar / snack restaurant was always so attentive and friendly. We visited during low season so perhaps that's why there were no serving staff around the pools, which was fine for us, but we did have to go to the bars to grab drinks. With only 1 buffet restaurant, the food become a little boring after a few days of mostly the same. But, the food we had was delicious - I wish they'd served roast chicken more often! Again, maybe a low season thing but there wasn't much for evening entertainment - the entertainment board mentioned something each night but we only saw entertainment on 3 out of 6 nights. The saxophone player was amazing!!! All in all, it was quiet and lovely to relax at this resort.

50th destination
did not live up to other Occidental Resort franchise's. if you want adult only try Secrets instead. Food quality and taste is poor. Beach and Ocean swimming was amazing, both swimming pools were HOT, not refreshing at all. Our mini fridge was not restocked everyday, housekeeping not done-had to ask and ask for it. upgrade service is NOT worth it. You get one extra bar only that is IT.

I would not waste your money
The food quality was absolutely terrible. I know that coming to an all inclusive it may not be great. It was so bad we actually ate outside of the hotel after the 3rd day. The alcohol quality was dreadful, no branded options, all extremely poor quality drinks full of sugar unfortunately. The only plus was that the hotel was set in beautiful grounds.

Enjoyable Stay!
We really enjoyed our stay! It was our first time visiting Costa Rica. It is not a huge resort so the buffet is smaller but nothing was lacking. There was variety and everything was delicious - especially the breakfasts! Our room was clean and cool and the beds were comfortable. Yes, lots of stairs to climb but we actually liked that. The pool was clean and not too crowded and it was fun to occasionally see (and hear!) the howler monkeys in the trees near the pool. The staff were helpful and friendly. The activity staff were great and a shout out to Jose who did a great job leading us on a kayak tour. The only suggestion I would have is to have more variety at the lunch place near the pool. JJ helped us book some great excursions and it was easy to take the shuttle to explore Playas Del Coco. Overall, we enjoyed our vacation so much and would love to come back!
