Winter get away
A good getaway with friendly service with activities available during the day and there is evening entertainment. there is a nice beach with easy access next to the resort. The resort is some distance from the nearest town.

Beautiful, calm and serene!
Just got back home from beautiful Costa Rica! Loved the entire experience. The Occidental Papagayo was great! We were in Building #1 so we were close to everything. No complaints about the huge resort, quiet, no children, great beach (unless it is high tide), good food and great staff! There are lots of stairs which is great to walk off the food and build up my calves but the shuttles are great! Great for paddle boarding until the wind picked up but early mornings the beach was calm and serene and the water was glass. Want to go back soon.

Great value, great location
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Service in general is beyond expectations due to very courteous and thoughtful staff. The location is great to discover wildlife and wonderful ecosystems. The beach is a little bit disappointing because it is pratically none existent half the day when the tide is high, but it gives the opportunity to appreciate the very nice pools that the resort offers.

Ok. You get what you pay for.
We got a great deal on this place so wasn't expecting anything grand. Good luck getting wash cloths and hand towels in your room. The view of the bay was worth paying extra. Food was ok. Not much variety. The Asian restaurant was my favorite.

2 Stars only because the Staff is doing the best they can with what little they are given to work with.
The food is the worst. The staff is friendly and helpful. The overall theme of this moderately priced all inclusive resort is to be as cheap as possible. things like maintenance, plumbing, and electricity are at times a luxury. Lots of dead trees and brown grass need to be overlooked to see the sceneray that is Costa Rica. Hot water is a major luxury and the food will eventually give you a stomach illness ruining a portion of your stay. Once you are sick the staff is extremely helpful in helping you feel better. The resort does little to embrace the local culture, and leaves the resort similar to anywhere. After my food born illness I refused to eat the bland food from the resort. I ventured out in order to find sustenance, I discover beautifully prepared exciting and delicious food. For this resort to not embrace the local food and culture, is a huge miss. The vibe on the resort is retirement home with the only source for a party being the disco, where few patrons ever visit. Costa Rica is an amazing place to visit just avoid this resort.
