Not Worth the Premium Price to be upsold throughout the visit
the resort and the rooms were comfortable and everything was quite clean. My kids had a great time on the beach, in the pool and the waterpark. The food wasn't very good. Our first night there we went to the the Wok restaurant. Service was slow for the most part. The food for our young boys came out very fast, but that's because it had been cooked for some time and was not warm at all. I ordered General Tsao's chicken and while it was tasty, some of the chicken was undercooked, which I only realized after I had eaten half of it. Luckily I didn't get sick. My biggest problem with the resort was that we had already paid a premium for this resort, with prices almost double the prices of other resorts in the area, but many activities were not included at the extra charges were exorbitant. It seemed like everything was geared towards getting you to buy the not included items. We tried to go to the character breakfast the first morning we were there, nope - need a reservation and for my wife, 2 boys and I it would cost about $200USD! $20USD for a shot of mamajuana or $310 for the bottle. The same bottle can be purchased locally for about $20-40USD. Our concierge called within 10 minutes of us getting into the resort, which was nice, but then his job was to sell us the timeshare. He would stop us a few times to sell the sliming or the character breakfast, etc, but his main goal was to get us into the timeshare presentation, which we refused. The concierges called another three times the next morning, until we unplugged our room telephone. I understand they're working on commission and want to sell the premium experience, but when you've already paid a premium for the resort itself, all this upselling just gets old and takes away from the vacation. Bottom line: I wouldn't bother to spend the extra money to stay there again.

Things I wished I knew ….
First time at this resort. Have to say the resort is very clean, workers constantly cleaning and maintaining the landscaping. Best resort I’ve been where the rooms are cleaned up nicely as well. The staff for the most part seemed friendly and attentive. The nightlife is amazing and so fun. The food is top quality along with the drinks. The only complaints I have since I was travelling with an 8 month old and 2 year old are as follows: the baby food as indicated on their website is not accurate, they don’t have Gerber Baby Food, they only have fruit packs for 6 month or 12 month age groups and not one or the either was readily available. My husband had to go from the breakfast Buffett at Sugarcane to look for them or the coffee shop or from the aqua bar. Some days they ran out and didn’t have any. I highly recommend that parents bring their own baby food, including fruits, protein, formula and snacks which I luckily did. Also, we had the upgraded swank suite with ocean view and luckily we got this room because the other rooms are so tight. I felt our room was big enough but still tight and felt that there was a lot of wasted balcony space. Our mini fridge in our room only got stocked up once the whole 7 days we were there. There was no working air conditioning in the sugarcane restaurant and no one knew when it would be fixed or cared. The kids were boiling hot and refused to eat. The restaurants that stated they opened at 6:30am were never ready with food or anyone to bring you coffee to your table. Even showing up at 7am we had to wait for the Buffett food to be sent out and waiting in no AC was brutal. The Karisma app was not accurate at all with the schedule of the kids activities and for the character meetings. Everyday when one character would be listed on the app, someone else appeared and it annoyed me each time because my son and I would walk to the specific meeting point and it would not be the character he wanted to see. By chance each day we found the character he wanted to see and we would take pictures. When I mentioned the issue to the staff at the water park they were clueless and didn’t care. They even had the wrong day on the screen at the front entrance at the water park and pointing it out they didn’t seem to care or notice or even know what day it was. I feel like the character greets were hush hush so that kids could miss a greeting with the character and then they make you want to pay to have a private character greet with your child for $150USD. There was no way I was paying for that. Also the character breakfasts are a waste of money because the characters just come out and dance around and it’s not like they go table to table to stop and take pictures: it’s just a show. I think the staff need to be a little bit more knowledgeable and more Disney like in a sense to cater to young children. I also didn’t appreciate being unsold on a Karisma timeshare at the reception when I simply went to ask when my airline bus was picking us up the next day. I eventually got my information through my airline. I was hustled hard by front desk team by taking my cell number and acting like they cared about my bus arrival when all they cared was to get me to come to a one hour meeting the next day. The staff really need to work on their customer service as representatives of Nickelodeon. The only time I can say it was amazing service is when we arrived at the hotel at 1:30pm and told our room wasn’t ready but went back at 2:00pm to plead for our room because of our long travel and crying baby. We finally got the room which was great. The beach was very clean and the pool was very nice.

don't waste your money and time
We usually travel and been to many family resorts and for sure this is has been the worse we have ever been. Please don't waste your money in this boring resort. They aren't nice, food is horrible. rooms were full of mosquitos, tub was broken. we had to check out the next day and go to a different resort.

Dont stay at Nickelodeon Punta Cana
My review for Nickelodeon Hotel Punta Cana: Terrible check-in experience, no A/C in lobby, closed restaurants, awful food quality, humid room, uncomfortable beds, slow room service, missing items, unmotivated staff. Won't book again. Extra charges for character breakfast and slime picture.

Family vacation
Getting to the resort is about 40 minutes from the airport. Once at the resort check in is about 3pm so we arrived about 12:30 ish (it was so hot but they allow you to eat at their Buffett (which is one of the like 8-9 restaurants they have on the resort). You are greeted with drinks (slime drink for the kids and a glass of champagne for the adults). They ask for everyone’s passports (they take a copy). Only adults get an orange wristband (which is the key to the room). It’s water proof and everything. Once in the room, depending on the suite you have a balcony with a view of the wrap around pools around the resorts and their are several swim up bars (with alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks) everything is included. All the food at the restaurants are included with the exception of like 2 places (1 you have to make a reservation but the food is included but there’s a special kids non alcoholic champagne for $25 that you pay for at the end of your stay) at every restaurant they ask for your room number and if there are any food restrictions (which I can appreciate). Every restaurant is not the same you get different foods at each. Nice experience. The wait staff is so sweet everyone has a different responsibility and the faces you see around the resort most people are bilingual and can communicate very well. Bring $1 bills lol for tipping (again they don’t ask or pressure you but they really do go above and beyond). There’s 24 hr room service brought directly to your room you can order from your TV, there’s also an app that has everything accessible on the resort (entertainment, restaurant hours, etc). The room Service is free as well. There’s a minibar in the room that’s free and they restock it too just dial “0” There’s an ice cream polar and coffee place. All FREE!! The water park is nice too. There’s a shuttle that takes you to and from the main resort to the water park back down to the beach depending on where your room is on the resort. There’s a beachfront. There’s like 4 pools (2 of which are infinity pools) they are not high only about 3-4ft deep (adults can stand). Even at the water park the water isn’t high at all. If your child is under a certain age you have to be in the water with them. So I had to be in the water with my son. They have floaties (but I had purchased one from the gift shop was $22 USD). They also take USD so that made it a bit easier. I called my bank and told them I was traveling out of the country so no issues. The cellphone thing is a little different too. There’s Wi-Fi at airport but you are only allotted 3 hrs of free Wi-Fi and then you have to pay. But they send you a text if you want to pay like $10/day for some type of package to add onto your phone bill (I have Verizon so I’m not sure if that was a specific thing to them but whatever). I took screen shots of the important stuff I needed like a nap to find the amstar counter, the email info etc, I didn’t not purchase that package. The resort has Wi-Fi which is great. There was a beach party (they ask you to wear white which it says on the website but not mandatory), there was a barbecue at the water park one night, and there are shows for the kids, nightly face painting, popcorn, nightly entertainment in like the main square, and a bounce house, there’s also a little arcade for the kids. You can get a personal family sliming (which is like $59) I didn’t pay for it there’s a daily group sliming at the water park for free at 3pm 🤣. Oh yes and there was no additional fees to leave DR, and that e ticket thing must be filled out going and coming back (which I didn’t know so that took some time at the airport ), make sure to tell people to get their tsa precheck on their tickets or global entry. (Mines wasn’t there and I didn’t have the number with me no biggie but for sure will make sure it’s there).
