    Pretty good!

We took our family of four (with a 6- and 8-year old) to Nickelodeon for a week in late February. Weather was perfect (low-to-mid-80s and mostly sunny all week). Beach was very nice, though the red flags were up during our last three days (full moon), which meant that ocean swimming (beyond some shallow playing for the kids) was off-limits. On the other days, the beach was rougher than certain extremely placid Caribbean spots, but nowhere near as rough as most East Coast (NJ, Hamptons, etc.) beaches. Anyone who complains about the occasional beach vendor seemingly does not know how to engage (or not engage) with their fellow man. The water park was a highlight. We went everyday. Beyond age 9 or 10, it would probably begin to feel tame, but it was perfect for our kids. We never missed a 3pm sliming. I've no complaints about the food. For an all-inclusive, there were of course hits and misses, but the Italian restaurant was actually quite good. Wok Wok was barely serviceable and Spacewalker (reservations required) was enjoyable, though EARLY reservations are required for that one. The buffet for breakfast and the occasional dinner was more than adequate. Fresco was a nice little pool bar, and the Water Park provided perfectly decent flatbreads for lunch. The Dominican stew - found on certain days either near the infinity pool or the water park - was always welcome. The staff was uniformly wonderful. Always cheerful. Each and every bartender and waiter was as pleasant as could be. Of course, you should tip a buck or two for each interaction, but even if you don't (and I did run out of cash near the end of my trip), their service and demeanor were never affected. And all of the bars served top shelf liquor. The character interactions were fine - thought it would have been nice to run into more of them - and the evening entertainment was adequate for the kids. Once your kids are beyond ages 8 or 9, however, it might seem lame. Relatedly, the kids club was not adored by my kids, but may very well work just fine for others. We booked a swim-up room, which was great. Nice to jump in for a quick dip whenever you'd like. The room was perfectly fine. The king bed was very comfortable, and the pull-out sofa worked just fine for the kids. We needed to call the couple of times we wanted the minibar refreshed (it should happen automatically each day), but not a big deal. Each and every shower I took, unfortunately, never even reached "warm". Not great. The "Personal Concierge" is only interested in sitting you down for a sales pitch, so don't bother with them once you've booked your Spacewalker reservations. For a place that caters to children, the pools (especially the Infinity Pool) was arguably too cold. Our kids were often hesitant to jump in, and they weren't alone. Check-in and check-out were seamless. There were a few spots under construction (the Lighthouse restaurant, the athletic facilities and some other locations), but we apparently didn't miss them. All-in-all, a perfectly nice trip for a family with small-ish children.

    sun and family fun!

We had a wonderful week at the Nickelodeon in PC! First and foremost Henry our Butler was amazing! We have been members since 2019 and he was by far the best butler we’ve ever had. I highly recommend requesting him for your stay. He was easily available to help with anything we needed from ice in our room, ordering room service for the kids, making all of our reservations, and even took care of booking our return transportation to the airport. So much More than any other butler has done for us on a trip. He made our time there so relaxing by taking care of every detail! The water park was definitely too young for our older crew of 9, 11, and 14. The Slides were small but they enjoyed the daily sliming and lazy river. The beaches at this resort are just gorgeous. No sea weed, bright blue water, and the softest sand! The constant breeze made the Waves perfect for the kids to jump and play in keeping everyone busy for hours. Thanks to Henry we had a cabana each day at the beach or the water park making it even better for the family to relax and have a break from the sun if needed. The beach had plenty of people braiding hair, selling souvenirs, and animal photo ops. Noel and Daniel at the members beach cabanas were also amazing. Always smiling and making jokes with the kids and ready to get us what we needed. The few opportunities for improvement would be improved entertainment at night (was definitely for much younger kids), room and water temperature could have been more consistent, the lunch options by the pool were just ok and they often ran out, the hydrotherapy at the spa was not in full working order ( sauna and hot pool not hot at all and steam room out of order), and the excessive amount of birds flying inside at the main buffet was slightly alarming while eating. All in all we had a great week at Nickelodeon and would recommend it for families.

Excellent facilities, very good attention from the staff in all areas and above all excellent personalized attention from the entertainment manager Mr. Rodrigo Valerin, who was at all times attentive to ensuring that we had the best Nickelodeon experience. 100% recommended for adults and children.

    Disappointing Resort Experience

My grandson was anxious to visit the Nickelodeon resorts for years, we finally celebrated his birthday at the Punta Cana location this February. I am an Exotic member which had included the Karisma resorts until last year so I am familiar with them, we did not book a member's room because it was more cost effective to book a package. I was quite disappointed in this hotel and baffled how it has a five star rating, the bath towels alone (although we experienced several other problems) would not qualify for such a high rating, they were dingy/grey and super thin, the kind of towels you would expect in a motel not a five star resort. We upgraded our room upon arrival to a swim-up and I wish we had not because the room assigned was not ready to receive guests: the refrigerator did not work, the TV did not work, the toilet stopped flushing within hours, the safe did not work, no soap was left at the sinks, no pillows left for the sofa bed and there were 3 of us in the room, the pullout bed did not look freshly made, the patio furnishings were dirty and sunken. I sanitize hotel rooms upon entry and the dirt gotten off light switches was disgusting. Housekeeping fell short in other ways as well - they did not leave towels in the room or too few for the number of folk in the room, each day the housekeeper stuffed the bed covering in the night stand vs. placing on the bed or folding it, and moped around a water bottle cap on the floor. We were offered to change rooms but after all of the mishaps were fixed we chose to stay where we were because the room presented was smaller and not in a better location. I believe they should have refunded the upgrade costs. Lastly, the food was not gourmet inclusive level I've enjoyed at other Karisma resorts, the food here is generally not good, there were only two meals during the four night stay that we enjoyed. Been there, check, will not return.
