Don't pass this up!
Visited USVI for the first time on our honeymoon and stayed at the Margaritaville - St. Thomas. We were very happy with our choice! We had a big room and big balcony to relax with coffee every morning - I recommend floor 2 or higher for more privacy! There is a small table and couch for nights after you're burnt or the sun goes down (earlier than in the states!) manager Missy was so sweet and celebrated our honeymoon with a thoughtful gift. Our favorite bar tender Kevin became like a friend to us over the week; we typically found him at the lower pool bar! Hi Kevin!! We miss you! Margaritaville has a lower pool and an upper pool - make sure you check out both! Different views, vibes, and bars. We were able to walk to Coki Beach, the Sunset Sail cruise (highly recommend!) and take a quick taxi to Red Hook (where you can catch the ferry to St. John!) Magen's Bay is also a must!! The property itself is beautiful and fun. We heard an awesome band on Weds night, Lourdes & The Switch. There is security on the property and even the taxis have to say why they're visiting. (Dropping guests off, etc). Definitely recommend this location and property!

You have better options elsewhere
I don’t typically give less than 3 stars because there is usually some redeeming quality of a place, but Wow. I have not been anywhere with THIS MANY unfriendly people. There isn’t much to do on the resort. There are over priced excursions available at the concierge desk. They do not offer shuttle service so getting to/from the airport will cost you around $35+ (based on number of people in the van). The main pool is small but nice (goes to just over 3ft). Towels are available ONLY at certain times. You won’t find a hot tub. The hilltop pool has a much better vibe and view but opens way after 6am. Which means getting a nice view of the sunrise is out. One restaurant onsite and it takes forever to get your food. We tried eating there at different times to see if it was just the time or wait staff but even when there were only 3 other patrons, the wait time was beyond ridiculous. There isn’t a beach on the resort and if they say there is, they are wrong. It is all washed away from the last few hurricanes, and what little sand is there, is covered in seaweed/debris. It is really not located in a good spot so you are forced to take a taxi. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement. The positives: the room was ok and this resort thankfully is at least within walking distance to Coki Beach, Paradise Coffee Bar, and Sea & Sun Bar & Grill. ( Notice these items are off property.) We won’t come back to this resort.

Secluded resort without views from room but nice grounds and rooms
The rooms are very nice and clean with super comfy beds and beautiful bathrooms. One issue is the AC is either all the way on or all the way off so we found cycling it on or off would keep the room temperature comfortable. Only a microwave, fridge, blender, coffee maker, and plates & glasses. The BOGO drink happy hours every day are SO much fun. The pools were in excellent condition though many of the loungers were worn. Don't go expecting ocean views from your room because there are very few that have more than a glimpse of it due to all the beautiful green trees. The main restaurant's food was expensive and if you go during very off hours you get quick service and food ($20-30). If you go during normal hours expect a very long wait (18% tip is included). They do a lot to make this a special experience for people with the art on the walls and the hammocks on the beach, etc. We felt very safe there. The seaweed on the beach makes it non-swimmable from April on but I have heard when it is not there it is beautiful. They will shuttle you to Coki Beach for free where you can pay to rent chairs and umbrellas. There were several of the scheduled events that didn't happen and one at a later time than posted so we missed it. There is a small strip with a shop near the resort where you can grab some very basic groceries at a super high price. MV is a place where you can expect a relaxing (but expensive) stay with a beautiful view once out of your room. Except for Coki Beach expect a per-person taxi fare of ~ $14-24 each direction if you want to do something off the resort so if you have a large group rent a car and buckle up for hair-pin turns and driving on the left-hand side of the road.

Okay stay
The view from the room is great! The journey to your room, not so great. The hard sell is on for the vacation club. You can't get your keys until you sit through the hard sell. My room was cleaned, but "waiting for inspection" for over 4 hours. Everyone here is on island time, and is very, very slow. The attitudes are poor as well. The rooms are on the hills, and they do have golf carts to transport you- but they don't run until 0700. That means if you check out before then you are dragging your luggage down some pretty steep hills- or lots of stairs (over 70). The lobby doesn't open until 0800, so no coffee for free in the lobby. Restaurants don't open until 0800 or later- so the coffee shop that opens at 700 is your only option for grab and go items. The beach on the property is terrible. Worst one we saw in our time on the island. No swimming or snorkeling for sure. For a short, but challenging walk, mosey over to Sun and Sea Bar and Grill. Great food and awesome drinks. There is no housekeeping either. AND.....the roosters!!!!!!! They start crowing at 345 in the morning- they are everywhere and are very loud. Be ready to be woken up at 4am

Beautiful Visit
The rooms are beautifully decorated & clean. The staff were so friendly & welcoming, they greeted us every morning. There is always a bellman riding around on golfcarts to take you around the resort. They do have a cpl gift shops on the resort, as well as a little Market to grab Miscellaneous drinks or food. If you book the Condo room with the Kitchenette I highly recommend going into town to the Market or Kmart to grab a few groceries to fill the fridge The grounds are immaculate, they do a great job keeping everything clean & well maintained. The pool up the hill is such a beautiful view. Love the live entertainment, Top Notch Band on Thursday Nights was the cherry on top to our trip. Margaritaville restaurant was nice to have, service was a little slower, they are definitely on island time. My husband & I walked along to the beach from Margaritaville to "Shoreline Bar & Grill" for food also & it was delicious!! Nice Views! Highly recommend leaving the resort & exploring, the locals are so friendly and welcome you with open arms. Overall, my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Margaritaville.
