Do not stay at Melia in PV
If I can give a negative number, I would. I booked a reservation to stay here to celebrate my birthday with my husband for the weekend. Arrived on 2/14, checked in and turned out they gave me a double-bed instead of a king. Called guest service to make the change the first time, they put me on hold for a long time and no one reply. Called back the second time, they promised to look into the situation and will call back and of course, no one called back either. Decided to head to the front desk to request the change in person and the person there claimed he called but no one picked up when really I was sitting next to the phone just waiting the whole time. He claimed the hotel was full and unable to accommodate the 3 nights I would be there. After back and forth, he finally said he could do 1/3 nights. I looked around the hotel was dead and no way they were fully occupied! I then asked him to send someone to fix the light and change the bed sheets since they looked rough /worn out as if they have been used for over a decade. He promised these will be done right away. Went to the restaurants, they were dead with bunch of available staff standing around, but unwilling to take walkins and claimed reservation only. We came back to the room after wandering around for over 3hours and nothing has changed. Called guest service again and they sounded as if these were new requests. Doesn’t the team communicate with each other? At this point, I’m beyond annoyed on how they handled the situation, from the wrong bed size to the worn out bed sheets, broken light, broken phone, stained curtains, stained chair. Omg the toilet seat is so ancient that plastic surface bubbled up! No way this is Melia standard and this location is a 4star hotel. I have stayed at other Melia resorts and every experience has been extraordinary! But Melia in PV is just so poor in both service and facility itself. Staff doesn’t seems like care, says one thing and does another or doesn’t do anything at all. If there is an issue, address it and make it better instead you dismiss it! This location is an embarrassment to be part of Melia chain. How is management addressing these issues or just chose to ignore them completely? Thanks Melia at PV for ruining my birthday and my experience! You had the chance to make things right, but instead you did nothing.

good to very good
Good sides; the location, the food and most of the staff. Bad sides ; very, very dated. Hard to near impossible to turn very old sink hot and cold knobs. Sink and shower don't drain well, meaning hair in there, which is an easy fix, which for some reason they don't do. Curtains had mould spots on them. Some pool/beach activities were good, but beach volley ball only happened on 1 day, and they made only one anoncement and there weren't enough of us, so even that was a bust. Got told we we too late for one of our only 3 "a la carte" diner resevation, evn though we were less than 15 mimutes late. Apparantly the Melia chain has a 10 minute cut off, which we weren't warned about. Gustavo the door guy, at an almost empty restaurant seemed to take great pleasure in telling us about it though. It was written in the fine print on the back of our diner reservation! He suggested we could sit and wait in case any of the 7pm resavations didn't turn up, which seemed like an extra slap in the face, which he also seemed to enjoy. I became a little annoyed and security and a manager were called. {2 old ladies that turned up for the 6.30 just after us were also turned away for being too late.) i get that rules are rules but something weird going on I think. The restaurant in question, near the beach, moves all it's food in from the main building so maybe they have problems dealing with the resavations they have, let alone if a few people are a little late and they get a rush. By the way I read they were supposed to have 3 a la cartes and they only had 2.

A wonderful place
Overall this was such a Fantastic Resort and Holiday. My kids can’t stop talking about how awesome it was, it was really all we could have hoped for. Great Pool, great food, great bars, great staff and service, great location (so close to airport), and great weather! So many Pros! The only downside was the beds weren’t that comfortable, but if that’s our only con we were quite ok with it. Thank you for the Experience!

We had a Perfect Stay for an early Valentines Day! Sunny and 85 everyday...Best part, it was below Zero in Wisconsin!!
My wife and I just returned from 6 perfect days at The Melia. The customer service and great attitudes was extremely refreshing. The property was extremely clean and being well taken care of. I was told the new ownership has made great changes. The pool and swim up bar were very fun with the water aerobics and games. There were children but they have a great activities program for the kids I was told by a couple of the parents. They have 2 very nice restaurants with indoor and open air seating, The Mole & Taco and the Fish House, Be Sure To Make Reservations At The Concierge Desk Right After You Check In For As Many Days As You Can!! They book up fast. The Mosaico, a very large buffet restaurant has everything and its Very Good (Sit outside by the stairs) Jovita and Karen were outstanding representatives of great service. At every turn there was Great service, but I have to recognize a few! Alberto, The Concierge (The Best) Ana and Leo Leon at the pool towel and activities center, Hildagro at the outdoor Pool Bar and Stephanie and Hilary at the front desk. There is a lot of difference between the Ocean View and the incredible Ocean Front rooms, It is so worth the upgrade. The Best part about the location Is The Marina, it is a short 2 block walk with tons and tons of shops and restaurants and it is packed full of Beautiful Yacht's and sailboats! Beautiful at night, Very Safe!! Have Fun

2 weeks of relaxation
Melia is a well siuated hotel close to very good amenities. Walking distance to the Golf course, walking distance to the marina and farmers market on thursday, pubs with hockey game nights and of course free whale watching every morning from the hotel beach area. The staff were very impressive with their service and friendliness. Karen, Marco and Ignacio are to mention at the Mole restaurent for breakfast. they were displaying professionalism at its very best. Javier the concierge pay particular attention to details when asked upon any requests. Jesus the bartender displayed a high degree of services to his customer. Ulysse the "Hawk" person was always explaining his services to the customers of the hotel with a very professional matter. The activites by the pool on a daily basis were also performed by very professional and friendly staffs. Food at the buffet displayed a variety of dishes for all taste. Overall, this Melia hotel experience is by far a wonderfull stay that will not be forgotten. A+++
