Already planning to return!
Just returned from Paradise! The Meliá experience was fabulous. Whoever advised to buy The Level plan was spot on. The beach was beautiful. The food was great with good selection. Any alcoholic beverage you could ask for whenever you wanted. Service staff was amazing. Very hard workers, friendly and there to make your stay a wonderful experience! The Level had benefits we appreciated including: upper level oceanfront views, reserved use of “bali beds” on the beach or poolside (basically cabanas), reservations at the restaurants (a nice break from the buffet), best seating at the buffet and super concierge service. They even had change for our larger peso bills. The Level also gave you a coupon for the spa which I was happy to use! This place has lots of entertainment available but we didn’t take advantage of it except for the music one night. There were planned activities daily. They have tennis courts, basketball and croquet too. There were kids there but there is an adults only pool which we appreciated. There are birds everywhere and they are fun to watch. Also look for the resident iguanas, especially as they jump off the roof of the Fish House into the pond.

We love Melia Cozumel!
We've stayed at Melia Cozumel three times now and have had a wonderful experience each and every time! Melia has one of the best beaches on Cozumel. the facilities are a bit dated, but are fairly well maintained and the landscaping is beautiful. One of the best features is the family swimming pool that is off the beach which means on a windy day it can be very calm at the pool and they heat the pool in the winter which is wonderful! Every staff member we've encountered has been amazing! I wouldn't describe the food as fine cuisine but there is something for everyone and always a good meal to be had. I highly recommend Melia for families. The entertainment directors do a wonderful job of looking after the kids so the adults can have some time to unwind in peace. Tons of sports and activities for adults as well! A grateful shout out to lupe, adrian, humberto, and Carlos in food service as well as Mary and Suzie in child care!

Beautiful resort.
Would recommend this resort for all ages. We saw families with young children as well as older folks. The staff was very helpful to everyone. The food was good and there was a wide variety available. Our room was very nice and cleaned in a timely manner each day.

Great Long Weekend in Level Grand Premium Room
Long weekend trip, 2 adults, mid January 2023, booked ‘the level grand premium’ room. We had a great time at this small, not crowded resort. We took a pre-booked shuttle from the airport (super easy and quick, through Cozumel tours. $13 pp for shared shuttle, but we were solo in a Prius) As soon as we arrived, we were whisked off to the AC’ed Level lounge to check in. We made dinner reservations and Bali bed reservations. They gave us a map and an info sheet, which was needed because the app was useless. As a few people mentioned, they are strict about the 3pm check in. We landed a tad early, and our shuttle was so fast, we were done checking in by 2. They did give us our bracelet so we could start drinking. We just relaxed by the pool in our clothes. If you are getting in early, pack easy access beach/ pool clothes to change into before you get to your room. Our room felt spacious and clean and we had a great view from the 8th floor. Bathroom was small (not a problem) and there was a vanity area outside the bathroom with a magnifying mirror. We had robes, slippers and even a complimentary beach bag and bottle of wine. Loved the in room nespresso. Air conditioner blew cold!!! Curtains blocked out most of the sun, but not all. (Fine for us but prepare if sun bothers you) Bed was soft, and had pretty big sags. We can sleep anywhere but worth mentioning if this is a deal breaker. (Bali beds were firm and had a pillow, tools plenty of naps on it) Water was perfect every day (no seaweed). Bali beds are great if you love shade. We had drink service on the level side of beach, I think from 11am-4pm. (I think they say only Bali beds get drink service but we had great service in regular level chairs, we tipped a few usd bucks every time) The Bali beds had outlets, so bring chargers if necessary. For regular beach chairs, the only shade was from palm trees on the level side. I think there were a few permanent umbrellas on the non-level side. Food- There are 2 sit down restaurants and a buffet. We ate at all 3. I felt like at the 2 restaurants, everything was cooked after you ordered it. (You can see the open kitchen in both restaurants) Mole (Mexican) was all outside. (Beach views) Fish house was indoors (garden views?) Buffet indoors with beach views. Buffet- they had 2 stations where a chef would cook right in front of you, I would stick to that as it was the tastiest. They did have a wide variety of food, so we always found something we liked. (Best French toast at buffet and fish house breakfast!) Mole- Was probably our least favorite, it felt like less options maybe? Soup here was outstanding. Fish house dinner was good. Friendly service! Pretty sure there are iguanas that live on top of the walls here? Keep an eye out haha. Fish house for the level breakfast was great! Tons of options. Not sure the hours on this one, went between 10am-11am and it was closed. On the level side of the beach there was a hut with a chef cooking made to order quesadillas during lunch with a table/chairs sitting area with beach views, completely outdoors. Food was good. Not sure the hours on this, they weren’t there our first day. The level lounge had delicious bite sized snacks and make your own drinks in the evening. Had a great time in there before dinner. I’ve been to a handful of resorts and I wouldn’t consider this a foodie experience. If food is only like 25% of your experience, and you prefer great beaches, delicious drinks, friendly service, clean rooms, safe environment, this is the place. Random thoughts: -We never left the resort. We did walk towards the pier, tons of fish by the reef worth seeing. -There is a basement, windowless game room that looks bare, but was actually really fun. 2 pool tables, air hockey, ping pong, and small basket ball thing. -Wide variety of delicious drinks. Made to order frozen drinks and fancy cocktails. There was a bar in the buffet too. -We celebrated a birthday and they had a few surprises to make us feel special. Recommend celebrating birthdays/anniversaries here!! Tips- Water was provided in non resealable glass bottles, bring a reusable water bottle for convenience. $10 pesos for a taxi from Melia to airport. They have a few waiting outside the resort so super easy We brought tons of small bills and tipped every person we came in contact with. Didn’t attend any shows, but you could definitely hear them from our room on the 8th floor. (We heard a singing performance loud and clear. It didn’t bother us but fyi) Wifi worked fine for streaming shows in room, did not work on the beach, or by the pool. Resort doesn’t have straws so bring your own. (We poured drinks into yetis, I saw bartenders making drinks in other people’s yetis, serving beer directly in yetis) The level experiment was worth it to us, I would recommend
