Meliá Cozumel
The resort is a very basic all inclusive. The good is basic: rice, potatoes, chicken, they don’t offer a grill with beef. We didn’t eat ir have dinner any day in the resort because we didn’t like the food. So, basically enjoying the all inclusive food was zero. The pools are very small, the hotel beach has nice chairs and cabins. The entertainment is very basic too. The people working there is friendly. Personally, I would never come back since it felt like a kind of all inclusive hotel but not really.

Dirty and infested. Manager, Edwin Gonzalez said not to expect anything less from a four-star hotel.
Whenever I check into hotel, I always check the bedding and surroundings to make sure it’s clean. After inspecting the bed, I found a long black hair and that’s the sheets and pillowcases had yellow stains. I contacted the front desk and was put through to a front desk manager, who is really combative on the phone. I requested that a hotel manager contact me. Approximately 30 minutes later, he and the manager Edwin Gonzalez arrived in the room. They asked what the issue was and told him and showed them pictures due to the fact that housekeeping was already changing the sheets and pillowcases. Edwin told me this is a four-star hotel. And what is wrong with having one hair and dirty sheets. We don’t give out brand new sheets like other hotels. This left me with the question why would a manager respond like this and really put off for the rest of the stay. After being really combative and rude, the front desk manager had an idea to move us to a so-called timeshare room which was a larger room. I ever smelled so bad and musty. They asked if I would need a humidifier to get the smell out. My partner and I got terribly bitten up in this room. On the last night, there was a swarm of insects that appeared in the room and all over the bed. The front desk person on duty at 11 PM was kind enough to change the room. When this was brought up to Management in the morning, Edwin Gonzalez appeared and said there’s nothing he can do to compensate due to the fact that I chose the replacement room. This is one hotel from hell. Here are some of the other problems. Had reservations for dinner however, they only had one chair for the two of us. Not sure why they would have a place settings and one chair. After the earlier reservations left, we were seated and then we saw them bring more chairs to for the empty spots at, the tables without chairs. No service at the beach/pool after 5 PM. The fridge with drinks in the room are a joke. Our concierge’s did ask if we’d like to change out some of the items, and it was never done. The water in the room is supplied at no charge. However, in glass bottles. Be careful don’t drop them as they break on the marble floors.

Another Excellent Stay
I am partial to this resort because they do everything well and they make sure that your trip is enjoyable. The entire Melia team led by Sandra, Carlos and Erik go above and beyond their duties and it is greatly appreciated. My wife and I have not only found a place to call home but also a place that really treats you like family.

Fish house is wonderful
We had a wonderful time at the Fish House at Meliá. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Thank you Humberto, Adrian, and Leo for a great time! We hope we can come back soon and see everybody again.

Great Server
Ruebel was an amazing server and had the best customer service I've seen in a while. Was prompt in his services and waited on My family daily. He remembered names, drinks, favorite food items etc. Wish him the best 👌🏽.
