Spring break
This hotel is great. Had a great time last year, came back again this year (spring break). I made a small error on my reservation and Colleen went the extra mile to fix my problem which was not easy considering the hotel was full. The pool deck underwent a $10 million renovation recently with two great pools, hot tub, corn hole boards, bars, restaurants. and they keep it spotless clean (a crew every morning before sun up scrubbing decks). Perfect location with plenty of food options onsite or off. You can rent a surfboard at Start Beachboys for $10 for 2 hours or get a group lesson (waikiki has perfect gentle waves for learning to surf). I recommend using this as your base because Honolulu starts to feel too much like Vegas after a few days- use it as your base and go see the whales on the makupu lighthouse hike, take a dolphin tour/boat ride (turtles), if you have adventurous teens (or yourself), grab a couple Morey Boogie bodyboards from Costco $35 each (way better quality than ABC store) and hit makupu beach (big waves but not deadly like north shore). Tons to see and do- this hotel is well run with a great staff- every interaction was friendly. Also fun activities at the hotel, classes painting Hawaiian sunsets and flowers, fire knife dancers, yoga- something for everyone. This hotel has a great vibe and everyone seemed to be having fun.

Wonderful experience in Waikoloa
My husband and I stayed at this resort for 7 nights in March and it was wonderful! The grounds were beautiful and well-kept. The pools were great with multiple umbrellas for shade! We were upgraded to a one-bedroom suite which was amazing! The daily maid service was flawless and very much appreciated too! All staff we met were extremely friendly and helpful and the views of the ocean from the hotel were stunning! The coffee shop had great coffee and the best scones! I highly recommend their blueberry scone! The restaurant had a really good breakfast too. My only negative comment is that the other food at the restaurant wasn't very good. We ate a lunch and a dinner there and both meals were disappointing. The food was just bland and missing something. The service was great and friendly though! Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel for couples or families!

Not a good value for the money.
The room was very comfortable and accommodating. Did not have a microwave to heat food (had leftovers from the various restaurants near by. Rooms in the tower had to listen to the elevators going up and down. Plan on spending a lot of money for the breakfast buffet ($40 per person) and a hotel fee of $50 per day for two water bottles, a hotel bag, 2 pair of slippers, use of beach towels and chairs. Stayed 7 nights for a total of $350. Expensive give aways.

Not good
We stayed here for three nights on our way to Utah for some skiing. The hotel is chaos all day 15 mins to get into a lift. Extremely noisy you can’t open the window and watch TV / sleep. We wanted to eat at the Queen restaurant one night it was less than 50% occupied we were told 30 mins for a table 🤔🤔🤔 The front of house lady was rude and abrupt eventually the manager appeared and was most helpful seating us almost immediately ! Sorry but we wont be back 🥺

Good location
Nice hotel. Good location. Good location. Front desk was not pleasant. Think they are very important and act like robots. Wait staff at adult pool were efficient and nice. Elevators were very fast and quiet. Beds were very comfortable. Shower was really large, takes hot water quite a while to arrive but then plenty of it.
