Great resort, good food and great energy, would recommend to all ages and groups. Beautiful, clean beach with many activities on the beach and at the pool for family and friends. Many options of food from buffet to fancy restaurants, with shows every night to have something to do at anytime of day. All staff were very friendly especially our favorite bartender Domingo at the Piaza Bar!

Wonderful staff at the Majestic Colonial
This was our fifth trip to a Majestic resort, and third to the Colonial, so we are quite familiar the place and the Colonial did not disappoint! Our stay this year was enhanced by the staff, who were absolutely fabulous! Our butler, Samuel went out of his way to ensure our experience was top notch, and Elpidio, the manager of Le Gourmet was so welcoming and attentive during our breakfast and dinner visits (we didn’t make it for lunch, but I’m sure he is equally attentive at this time). Madelin, Jan Carlos and Miguel also gave exemplary service, as did so many other staff members who work so hard and have such positive attitudes. Truly a wonderful experience. Thank you, Colonial staff!

Great stay, will be back.
Second stay at the Majestic Colonial Club, had the oceanfront room which was spectacular with great views. First night we slept outside on the Bali bed falling asleep listening to the ocean waves, need I say more. Room amenities were great, our butler Edwin met all our needs and followed up with us daily to ensure we were looked after. As per other reviews, the rooms could use some TLC and are a little dated and cleanliness was slightly lacking (dirty surfaces and fingerprints from previous occupants which showed depending on lighting in the room). We enjoyed the patio jacuzzi, however we had no lights on the patio which wasn't a big deal but made it quite dark to sit out and enjoy the night. Again, just another maintenance item. Beaches, a la carts, entertainment and staff were fabulous. Got to see a "Maritime Canada" pool party with live music which was a bonus since we were from Canada, great job. Look forward to returning, think we'll try a swim up room as the seem to be a fun spot given proximity to the pool bar and you get to make new friends.

Awsesome staff in Samuel and Candela made for such a great time
The Majestic Colonial is a beautiful resort. But how do you add to what it already has? Well, you can start by having such a wonderful butler as Samuel who is so kind and attentive and made sure we alwasy knew what was going on. Then you can add an Animation team led by Candela who brought enthusiasm, fun and egagement on a personal level that is second to none. We had such a wonderful time, thanks to Samuel, Candela and virtually all of the staff who are so friendely and make such a delightful stay possible. Alan and Patti

We love the Majestic
Just finished our second stay at the Majestic. First time was in 2018 and now just took our kids in 2025. We love the resort!! Great food, great service! ESPECIALLY Oscar in the buffet dining. He was amazing and just a sweet and endearing human!! Loves people and shows it! We made sure to sit in his section every meal! My kids loved him so much they wanted to bring him home with us haha. Highly recommend requesting his section if you go. He may even show you one of his magic tricks. He was really a highlight in our stay there! The pool is amazing as it runs the entire length of the resort rather than just being near the beach like other resorts we have been to. There was a mess up with our booked room upon arrival which was kind of annoying because we had booked months in advance, but they put us up in their giant roof top suite for a our first night and gave us a credit to use in the resort for the inconvenience. It was inconvenient, but they did the best they could and our booked room was ready the next day. We had a poolside suite so being able to get right in and out of the pool via our own little “backyard” was really nice and you’re always guaranteed your own sun loungers cuz everywhere else its tough to lock down a few chairs. They fill up quick. The beaches had alot more seaweed this visit compared to our last one in 2018 tho. I dont remember much of any last time we were there. I remember them being groomed alot better then, but there were more waves this time so maybe just tough to stay on top of. The beaches themselves were very nice tho! Enjoyed many loooong walks up and down. Endless sandy beach in both directions. Seen some other negative reviews about the condition and cleanliness, but honestly id have to disagree. Id agree in the sense that some stuff here n there does require repairs, but it is a 20 year old resort. All fairy minor things that im sure are ongoing maintenance so you’re always gunna have little things here and there that need attention. Dont let those reviews deter you.. the resort is very well looked after and they have maintenance crews working daily on different things around the resort so there is no neglect. Its just older and that stuff is constant. Some people complain far too easily and expect absolute perfection, but thats not realistic IMO. Overall its beautiful and if you wanna nit pick piddly things then sure, you’re gunna find the odd crooked light fixture or cracked tile… big deal. Dont hesitate to visit the Majestic. We wouldn’t for a third stay sometime down the road. The resort could definitely benefit with a better coffee bar. There is only one coffee machine in the main lobby and that gets pretty backed up early in the morning. Be nice if they added a couple more machines. John
