Just Magical.
Please ignore all the bad reviews of this hotel, this must have been a unique experience. We were a family of 4, one 8 year old and one 15 year old and a mother in law. Got a taxi from the airport, was around 20 mins. Upon arrival the reception area is beautiful, we had a long stay of 2 weeks so was relieved. Yes we had to share a room with all four of us, my mother in law had her own room, we had a bath she had a shower not sure why?! But the view from both rooms was spectacular, the beautiful waterfalls, lagoon and rides in the distance were second to none. We had shopping delivered to the hotel and just had to meet him outside to collect. The beds were SO COMFORTABLE, literally we got home and our 8 year old made us buy a mattress topped because he missed 'his florida bed' haha. The rooms had a separate mirror and sink from the bathroom which was a godsend for me sharing with 3 boys, they will charge you for that fancy fiji water on the way out though. Everything was cleaned everyday and left spotless. The pool area was stunning! Prices to make your eyes water but we knew this coming to florida, the kids meals were good value and we had the nachos which were great. Lifeguards regularly testing each other on duty and saw 2 rescues, they are on the ball! Waterside really fun AND the red hot jacuzzi pool was to die for after walking around all day in the parks, pool open till 11 too which was amazing. Little firepit to do marshmallows on was a nice touch at night. Can refill water from the machines or buy a refillable cup which were such good value and cheaper than next door aventura I noticed (although they do have some better food options if you're craving veggies and noodles! Little coffee shop aswell which we used a lot for snacks. Boat ride to the parks was a beautiful relaxing touch, never too busy and always a pleasure. Some kids parties around the pool but never too overcrowded. We had one issue where our son had collected all the souvenir cups and left them in a plastic bag in our room and the cleaning staff accidently binned them. The reception staff were so lovely about it and although we never got them back they did credit us with some money to go and buy them again. We never ate in the steak restaurant so can comment. Got ubers from outside the hotel- really quick Walmart not far. Magical to watch the fireworks and drones in the distance. Our flight was late on and they let us use the gym facilities to get showered and ready. This was such a magical holiday for us and it wouldn't have been the same without this hotel, the beautiful relaxing decor was a welcome break from the overstimulating parks, I would go back in a heartbeat.

Great location, moderate hotel, very cold!
We got 2 rooms here - one with a senior with physical disabilities, the other with me and kids ages 10 & 13. The hotel rooms are adequate, not luxurious which considering the price, they could have a been a lot nicer. The beds and pillows are very comfortable, the lightweight blankets left a lot to be desired. This hotel is ICE COLD. The rooms were set at 65, which we reset to 72. The hallways, elevators, and restaurant on the ground floor are FREEZING! We had to wear coats throughout each meal. Bizarre really seeing as people come to Florida to be warm. The restaurants in the hotel are ok. The one on the first floor made us wait for about an hour before we got our food, and that was just way too long. They did discount the meal but it wasted a lot of our time. The boat rides to City Walk so you can get to Universal and Islands of Adventure were wonderful. Short security point, then onto the boat, 5 minutes to City Walk. From there, about 5-10 minute walk to either park. Very convenient. We walked to Volcano Bay from the hotel as well, maybe a 10-minute flat walk, very easy. Cabana Bay and Aventura hotels are right across the street, easy walk to get to either but no real reason to go to Aventura except the rooftop bar. Cabana has the bowling and lazy river. I'd probably save the money and stay at Cabana Bay next time, if walking to the boat launch or shuttle bus is not a problem. With my mom using a walker, this was the most convenient hotel we could afford. Pool feels a lot smaller than what shows on this picture. It's nice, moderately warm, and has a fun slide for kids. Shallow play areas good for little kids. The food here is very good at the outdoor restaurant. The smoothies not so much - just ice and syrup... no actual fruit. Again - for a hotel this pricey, you're really paying for location, not luxury. Annoying that our key cards had to get reset multiple times, but front desk staff were helpful and nice.

Great holiday!
I would really struggle to fault this hotel! We had the best two weeks here! The smell when you walk into the lobby is amazing, and the welcome from reception was lovely. The entrance area is really impressive. We were is guest tower 3 with a lagoon view and it was perfection. We had a great view of the water ways, and the parks from our bed! The room was large and really clean. Nice vanity area and shower, with full size shampoo and condition which were a welcomed bonus! It has a deli - the Dutch Trading company that does snacks, hot and cold foods and amazing iced coffees. The cookies were also delicious...I think we had one everyday! They also do lovely ice cream. We bought the resort mugs and these were definitely worth the 19 dollars for a two week stay. We also ate at The Strong Water tavern for food. It was more expesive but a lovely treat. The best food for us was from the Dhrum Club. We ordered food whilst enjoying the pool most days and it was really delicious and was brought to your sunbed which was bliss. The water taxi to the parks were so quick and easy, and such a lovely way to travel. You could also walk to the prks in about 15 minutes along the path. We usually stay at Cabana Bay, and obviously Sapphire Falls is more expensive but I do think its worth the extra cost. Everything was wonderful and cant wait to come back!

Great hotel.
Great location. Ten minute walk to City Walk and the parks through the gardens. Five minutes on the free water taxi. Five minutes walk to Volcano Bay. Large rooms with two double beds. Good sized shower. Room service excellent and reasonable price. Restaurants are nice. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Used the washing machine and tumble dryer (3.50 each). Highly recommend this hotel and would definitely return.

Very nice Universal hotel property.
Moderate star level hotel at Universal. Early access to parks, but no fast pass. Modern and very nice overall. Lots of meetings going on. We had a suite which was nice. Good bed and room was quiet. Took the water taxi to Universal City Walk. No waiting. Enjoyed the large pool and hot tub. Ate by the fire pit by the pool bar. Used valet parking.
