    Worth a visit

After a 9.5 hour flight from the UK and 2 hours in the airport we walked into Live Aqua, first impressions were great, quick check in and shown to our room on the 3rd floor. The room was very nice, huge shower and nice washing area, love the double basins. Good selection of TV Channels which we used regularly throughout the week. The most comfiest kingsize bed. We had a quick look around and had our first meal in HIdden Garden, it was lovely and we ate here a further two times, both equally tasty food and loved the garden atmosphere. The pool area is great, plenty of loungers, we did debate about hiring a cabana but didn't feel we needed to, the waiters around the pool worked very hard keeping all guests drinks replenished. We tried all the restaurants and had some very tasty food, the buffet in siete has a huge range of food and even a picky eater would find something to eat there. We tried Marcos smoothies and they were delicious. They even offer mimosas for breakfast. Each day you could also eat from the Grill, Burger/Hotdog stand, Taco's or Paella on alterntive days, we tried them all and loved the grilled chicken. We had an anniversay meal in MB and the food was delicious, we both tried the Haberao Soup. We watched the circus show on the first Sarruday, it was a great show. Unfortunately we were poorly for 2 days whilst there, not quite sure what caused it and the weather took a turn for the worst and most of our week was cloudy, rainy and windy, the hotel did it's best to move activites inside so gests did not miss out. Our room was on a corner so the strong winds on a night made the balcony doors move and make a lot of noise, we reported it to reception and they did their best to fix the issue. We visited Chitzen Itza and a Cenote and it was a great day out. The mall over the road is a nice place to visit to break up the day and we found another mall out to the left of the hotel, which has a huge supermarket with a pharmacy. If anyone of my friends were to visit the hotel zone I would recommend this hotel.

5 Star food service and amenities!

The service amenities and food were all incredible and top notch! The resort was well kept and we felt safe the whole time. Amin at the pool kept the cold drinks and great food coming! He could truly read our minds knowing what we wanted next to make our trip the best. Carlos was also a great butler. Resort was so convenient to marina where we booked fishing trip and jungle snorkel tour. The hotel excursion specialist was very helpful booking this and coordinating transportation. Would highly recommend! Dinner at carnivor was added cost but well worth it! 5 Star resort!

    It keeps getting better!

Earlier this month we returned from our 11th visit to Live Aqua. Our first visit was in 2016 and we were impressed then (prompting us to return again and again) but it was even better this visit! What makes it so great? It’s definitely the people and the service, though the beaches, the pool area, the restaurants and the location are all amazing as well. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Ashley, the VIP manager, who is in a class by himself as someone who is warm and friendly, and genuinely concerned about what he can do to make things perfect every time. We have known him since our first visit and have remained in contact over the years. We stayed in a Tierra Suite, which provides us with butler service and access to the Aqua Lounge. If it’s in your budget, it is certainly a great thing to live the suite life! The Tierra Suite is one of our 2 favorites (the other being the Aqua Suite) because of the large balcony and extra half bath. The butler service is nice to have, and we had exceptional service from Isaias and Stephany. They checked on us daily both in person and through WhatsApp to make sure that every need was taken care of, from dinner reservations to special housekeeping needs. Both have welcoming personalities and great follow up skills. We’ve been fortunate to have other great butlers in the past, including Alex and Ruddy. We also like the extra bonus of having access to the Aqua Lounge, which comes with a suite. The service by Daniel (mornings) and Guillermo (evenings) is impeccable. Over our visits, we’ve gotten to know them both very well and they are genuine, service-oriented great people who are amazing assets to this resort. Honestly, they are a big reason why we keep coming back. Our restaurant experiences were great as always. The service was top notch, the food choices and preparation were near perfect. The return of Chef Cesar has made an impact already. We were just at the resort in February when he returned, and in a few short months his presence is seen both in person and in the food being prepared. During the day, we enjoyed the more casual options including burgers and hot dogs made by Porfi, who provides both the best food and interactions with guests. We had delicious tacos one day prepared near the grill area and also had food delivered to the cabana, which was hot and good. Twice we enjoyed Varena at lunch and the service, food and sangria were all outstanding. Kudos also to Jonathon, the food and beverage manager, who is constantly running between restaurants and handling any issues. Our only slight criticism in this areas was the location of the delicious crepe cart, which was too close to where smoking was permitted. The crepes themselves - excellent! We enjoyed a cabana with foot massage daily, which was included with the suite. The pool set up service by the individuals at the pool hut was efficient and always with a smile. Flavio and Eduard greeted us daily and made sure that everything was perfect. We were lucky to have the best of the best taking care of us with beverages, David, who we met on our first trip and has always sought us out on subsequent visits to greet us warmly. Overall the visit was nearly perfect – I’d say a 9.95 out of 10! There was a slight miss of housekeeping service which was corrected with the help of our butler. But this is what any guest should do – bring up an issue directly to the staff when it happens – and a resort at the level of Live Aqua will correct it immediately. We are already in planning stages of our next visit, and won’t even consider any place else!

    Avoid Fiesta Rewards Membership

Firstly I love the actual hotel and the staff in the hotel and I want to go back. However I stupidly paid $12,650 for a 5 year Fiesta Rewards membership. I am trying to book the hotel this weekend for next year but all the "benefits and discounts" for this payment is simply a scam. The only slight positive is the points give you perhaps a couple of thousand back if you can get a hold of them to make a booking. But the first sign of complaining or addressing the matter they cancel your contract and will not allow you to make a booking losing thousands because you make the suggestion that you are unhappy or send them travel agents links demonstrating it is cheaper to book elsewhere. They also will not call you back and no-one unless "assigned to your case" can talk to you upon calling them but no-one ever gets assigned. This is the worst ponzi type scheme I have ever been stupid enough to fall for. They promise all these benefits but simply put they are more expensive than travel agents for the same thing and there is zero upside at all from my detailed review of matters. Dealing with them or trying to navigate the website is horrific too. When I next travel I am going to have to hire a mexican lawyer to tackle my case out of principle and visit the sales area daily to warn as many people as I can to not fall for the complete deception about the membership. Live Aqua as a hotel on this scheme must take some responsibility for the chaos and deception it causes customers who do love visiting your hotel. I have visited your hotel twice last year and plan to do so twice next year too but this situation is making this concept impossible to navigate and not one person in the rewards scheme is helping resolve the problem. I would love to hear from you if you can help resolve this. My number is +44 7908 988388.

    Hospitality

Service was amazing! Omar and his coworkers at Egos bar served my fiancé and I like we were family. Omar and his coworkers really took care of us. I definitely cant forget about Crecensio and manuel. I met them at the beach bar with the swings. Such nice guys. I learned they would be at the swim up pool the days that followed so that’s where we went. The guy that I remembered from the last time was Badal. He checked on us every chance he got. We’ll definitely be back!
