Rip-off
Our professional business group was offers dinner at a $240 group rate with about 50 dinner guests. Dinner was eggplant rollatini, grouper, meat carving station, one drink ticket. The buffet dinner wasn’t worth $240. And after my beer, I had to pay $6 for a tonic water, a glass full of ice, and the bartender didn’t even give me the rest of the 6 oz bottle. I only saw two hard working service personnel replenishing the buffet table. What a rip-off.

Still our Favourite Hotel in Naples
We have stayed at LaPlaya for approximately 17 years and have loved everything about it, fabulous private beach location, three pools, good sized rooms, the cleanliness and most of all, the lovely staff. We have stayed in the Bay Tower, the Gulf Tower and the Beach House, each have their own positives. Our favourite rooms are either in the Gulf Tower or the Beach house, the rooms and balconies are slightly smaller but we like the direct outlook over the beach and the Gulf, where we can watch the pelicans, dolphins and the manatees swim by and the beautiful sunsets. However, this year we were slightly apprehensive as the hotel had been badly affected by Hurricane Ian, late in 2022. We knew it would be totally different from previous years as the Beach House was still closed due to major damage, as were two of the three pools, the Tiki bar had been destroyed, but they had set up a satellite bar on the beach and the Baleen restaurant was closed. The Spa had recently opened, although we did not experience this directly and the beach which had also been closed had reopened. We need not have worried, because although the facilities were less than normal, the staff more than made up for it. There was an additional, very nice cafe bar with outside/ inside seating, the revamped reception area is fabulous and the hotel shop is very well stocked and open. The room was exceptionally clean, our thanks to our maid Arene (… apologies if spelling is incorrect) for all of the additional help, as well as cleaning our room. Our thanks to the car valets, the brilliant beach guys, the super luggage valets (especially Cornell for his additional help and always smiling happy face and lovely welcome) and especially to Rob Smith for the amazing welcome and taking care of everything we needed during and prior to our stay and his help over many previous years. During our stay the recovery of the hotel was moving forward at an amazing pace and with minimal disruption. We wish you all the best for the future. You are doing a great job!

Gotta Love This Place!
We brought my brother in law and his wife to Elements at Baleen at the LaPlaya hotel last night and it was WONDERFUL!! Our bartender/server Adriano was awesome and super attentive. He will even serenade you with some Italian opera if you are lucky!! ☺️. Our server Samantha was outstanding as well and super friendly. The dishes were very flavorful (although limited) due to the hotel/restaurant not being fully reopened yet. This place is a definite “must do” once they are opened fully to the public.

Upscale Casual Resort
Our first visit and we stayed in the Beach House. It’s right on the beach and easy to come and go. Lovely balconies with furniture for relaxing. The staff are friendly and attentive. Get a valet parking and breakfast option with your room as valet parking is $36/night. The resort is compact. Cute Tiki bar, multiple pools, wonderful Baleens for dining inside or out. External renovations underway on the Gulf Tower. We’ll be back!

Excellent experience regardless of repairs
While not all of the amenities are currently available as part of the resort’s repairs after the hurricane, my mom and I had a wonderful experience. The rooms are exceptionally clean and spacious. The service, from check in, valet, and beachside service, was wonderful. We would gladly stay here again even with the repairs being made.
