Amazing 5 Star Experience!
What an amazing 5 star hotel, Top notch stay and excellent service ! All the staff os friendly. The food was good and lots of options for all tastes. The pools are very clean and the beach is breathtaking. Special shout out to the best bartender by the pool bar Tobias and other staff Oscar, Terfi but they are all incredible. Thank you so much we had a great time and we will be back!

Great cold weather getaway!
This is the third year that my wife and I spent 5-6 days here in January. It's a great escape from the winter here in the US. The hotel staff is great (in particular: Armando and Houston as our butler, Ingrid at the Cigar Bar who made a great espresso martini every night, Eddie the yoga instructor and Daniela who was our waitress at dinner on numerous nights.) The food is great. The cabanas by the pool are great. There's a reason we come back here every year.

Gorgeous, but...
The grounds and beach were gorgeous, and the food better than the average compared to other all-inclusives where we have stayed. Also, the activities staff were quite fun. However, we found the staff to be pushy about a membership breakfast ("not a timeshare!") that we didn't want to attend. Also, we had a dispute/misunderstanding about how the resort credits worked, and found the management to be unhelpful/unresponsive to that.

Big bang for your buck overall
We spent five days here this month and found it to be a super solid value for sunny, pleasurable first rate vacation. My wife loved the yoga with Eddie, which she did every day. I loved the pools. It really is a superior value and was very relaxing. We loved our concierges Jose and Junior, rookie of the year. Had a great time with staff including, Tobias, Oscar, Terfi and Rafael our bellmen, and Misotto who we've seen the last three years at the lobby bar. The food is very good and was better than our 2024 vaca there. Also, this time, we enjoyed cheap $5 Blackjack tables at Iberostar's neighboring resort. Big bang for your buck overall IMO.

Almost perfect but one BIG problem
After being to a number of different resorts, we thought Joia was the the perfect one for us. Food was great, excellent service, large abundance of shaded beach seating. Also loved that they provided free sunscreen for their guests. However, the one BIG problem that we had there was that we got COVERED in sand flea bites. At first I thought that we just got unlucky with the time of year. However, after talking to others about this, we were told that the sand fleas were probably inside the lounger cushions. This makes sense as the bites we got were pretty much a straight line down the sides of our back and legs, exactly where they were making contact with the lounger cushions. It was the only problem we had, but when you are covered in over a hundred itchy bites, it prevents you from relaxing and sleeping, which was a huge issue. This review would have been 5/5 if it weren't for that. My suggesting for management is this. Either start doing regular thorough cleanings of the beach lounger cushions, or replace the loungers with ones that do not let fleas settle inside. I will settle for a slightly less comfortable lounger if it means not getting covered in flea bites. Unless this is remedied, I may not be coming back, despite the fact that everything else was absolutely wonderful.
