    Great last minute trip

Had an opportunity to travel with a friend on a 4 night get-away to Punta Cana. Chose this resort mostly by price at the time and decent reviews. I have travelled to Mexico and the DR multiple times but never at an Iberostar resort. I was pleasantly surprised, given some of the negative reviews. This is the basic no frills portion of the resorts on Bavaro beach. The grounds are spectacular and well maintained. The pools are large and clean. There is no swim up bar, but there are locations for drinks easily accessible. The usual chair "holding" took place, but we could always find a couple of chairs when needed. The beach is beautiful, chairs are very close together but they are plentiful. The beach had no seaweed during our time, and the ocean was nice to experience. Again, no beach drink service, but walk to a bar was easy. Restrooms near both pool and beach, cleaned frequently. The food was pretty good. Unfortunately with a 4 night stay, we could only book 1 restaurant. Got a bit tired of the buffet, but the choices were good, lots of fruit, breads, several types of meat and veggies, rice and beans. Always pizza and pasta choices. We ate at the Mediterranean restaurant. This was the only location we experienced below average service. The room was large, well appointed, but dated and needed a facelift. Housekeeping did well keeping it clean. Couldn't adjust a/c, rust in shower. Of course the weather was amazing and the resort had so many lovely areas to sit outside that we really only slept in the room and it was fine for that. I would return to Iberostar, if I were to stay longer, I would probably upgrade the hotel I was in, but wouldn't hesitate to return to the Punta Cana either.

    Not a 5star Hotel

The hotel was clean and modern but not 5star hotel worth. The grounds were very beautiful. The staff was the absolute best part everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. The food left a lot to be desired. Not impressed by the food. The desserts although pretty we’re completely lacking in flavor. We loved the extra activities by the pool and the shows were ok. Not everything is included at this All-inclusive resort. It was challenging to get a tasty mixed drink. It was hit or miss depending on the bar tender.

Great holidays in Iberostar Punta Cana

It’s already been my second visit to this hotel and I’d love to go again. Fantastic staff at the beach star prestige area. Beautiful environment. Great choice of food. Wonderful bartenders. Fresh coconuts every day. Amazing place.

    Iberostar delivers!

Iberostar Bavaro review, FEB, 2022 Generally, a wonderful resort! Room cleaning: here, we had a bit of inconsistency. One day, the room was cleaned beautifully, with towel animals and flower petals. The next day, it wasn’t cleaned at all, but they showed up for turn-down service, so we at least got clean towels. The following day, it was cleaned, but just barely...no finishing touches, and the decorative stuff never made it to the bed. You get the idea...we just never knew what we were going to get. We are tippers: we leave money under the pillows for the maid. This usually ensures much better service than we got. The food: if you’ve read my reviews before, you know I have a food allergy. Buffets work well for me, generally speaking, and they have a decent variety of food available. A couple of days in, my husband noticed that they have some gluten-free items to the side...buns, bread, muffins...that’s a real treat on vacation. However, I did find the food to be hit or miss. Much of it was good, and there were enough options to have a good variety, especially if you like fresh vegetables and fruit. But in the restaurants that require reservations, be careful: they list 2 or 3 things that are GF, but you must make a point of also telling them! All in all, a wonderful stay!

    Day Pass - EXCELLENT experience!

I recently went to this property with some friends for a day pass and had an amazing experience. We chose this property because of their impressive sustainability efforts and wanted to see what they were like for ourselves- along with a day by the pool. We were able to visit their coral lab and speak with a new staff member about their efforts with coral. He was extremely knowledgable and it was fascinating to learn about. I love that they have a program for kids to learn about the efforts as well. We were also able to speak with another staff member about their other sustainability practices including the elimination of single-use plastics, reduction of food waste, and the blue flag beaches. They are definitely leading the area and industry with these efforts. In terms of the rest of our day, we really enjoyed the beautiful beach and delicious food and drinks. The buffet food was some of the best I've ever had and the staff was all very helpful. I even got a cool hat in the gift shop. We all wished we could've been there for longer! Can't wait to return to this property or other Iberostar locations.
