    Third time is the charm

My husband and I had been to the sister resort, Iberostar Dominicana twice already, and liked it very much, so coming here was an easy decision. True to form, we enjoyed our stay. Our room was adequate and while this is not a big thing for us, we noted that the décor had been freshened up, which was nice. It's true that you cannot adjust the temperature, but for the most part, we were cool enough. A/C worked well. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. We appreciate Iberostar's initiative to eliminate plastic water bottles in favor of a filtered water system available throughout the property. The only thing is that the glass bottles they provide are somewhat heavy, so I brought a Camelbak from home for use in the bathroom. It was nice to be able to have cold water in the minifridge, along with the supplied beer and soda. Housekeeper Daisy did an excellent job of keeping our room in good order. Speaking of drinks, I also brought my own insulated bottle and filled it with one of the infused waters they have at all bars and buffets. I liked the rosemary water especially, but they are all good. The food is honestly good but not great. Having said that, we always found plenty of tasty options. I enjoyed a made to order omelet every day. The fresh fruit available at every meal is good, as are the multigrain rolls. We liked having lunch at the beach pavilion. The beach was gorgeous for the most part, clear turquoise water and good swimming conditions if you don't mind a little chop. The bottom is soft sand, very good. The days when the seaweed was a bit much, we found the pool to be a good option. We prefer a quiet atmosphere - not so much partying anymore, LOL. The lPunta Cana lobby bar fit the bill nicely. Bartender Ilianna made superb martinis. We met very nice people among the guests and staff. About the staff, they are fantastic, friendly and professional. Daisy and Ilianna stood out particularly. To sum up, we found Iberostar Punta Cana a lovely place and would like to return.

    Ocean View

Before I discuss the room, I would like to say the staff service was horrible. They are more interested in their own personal conversations than assisting the guests. They were unmotivated and lacked any enthusiasm. Common areas looked dark and dirty. When I booked the ocean view, I did not expect to also overlook the garbage. The room smelled of cigarette smoke, it was also dark and very dated. I approached the desk for an upgrade, which I was willing to pay for and I was offered a room at another Iberostar hotel next door “Coral”. We paid the upgrade then we were moved to the other property. The Coral turned us away and said a mistake was made they did not have a room, we went back the Iberostar Punta Cana. When I asked to see the Manager I was ignored. After waiting 2.5 hours for them to come up with a solution, I gave up and I asked for a refund and left. I am still waiting for a full refund for the booking company.

Worst resort that i have ever been

Food Variaty: 0 Food quality: 0 Entertainment:0 Entertainment team courtesy:0 Waitress courtesy:10 This resort is a waste of time and money. I really regret going to this place. In the evening they offer restaurants a la carte, but it seems to be the left over food from the afternoon buffet.

Not impressed, don't waste your money

My two sisters and I took our mom who's turning 80 this year on her first trip out of the United States. We stayed at the Iberostar Punta Cana. When we arrived our room smelled like mold and wet paint. Out couch was disgustingly dirty and broken (it looked like of fell of a balcony) later that evening we went to the front desk and made a complaint since our mom has COPD and we felt like the conditions of our room was not safe for her. After alot of back and forth they agreed to move our room. This room was much better, it was clean and had a full functioning couch. Sadly, the humidity made our room, our beds and bedding very wet. The AC kept the room and a bare minimum cool. It was always muggy and not ever cold and refreshing. On the 3rd night the power to the resort went out at 12:30am to 5:30am. Leaving no AC or power during that time. The food was not great. Most things had no taste and the beverages were barley cold. We did book two reservations for dinner. One for a "Steak House" that didn't exist, even though they showed us a menu, it ending up being a Smoke House that did not serve steak. The restaurant was okay I'd give it a 3 star, next we had a reservation for the Mexican restaurant. We waited for almost 40 minutes for our food to come out, the chicken was very chewy and flavorless. I'd give that restaurant a 1 star. We left and went to the open buffet to finish our dinner. The pools were refreshing but not very clean. The blue pool has tiny back things floating throughout the entire pool. It was even stuck to our bathing suits when we got out. The green pool or that's what we called it, needed a good cleaning. Lots of algae on the tiles and grout. The pool staff was okay. Some days they were good and other days they didn't come around at all. (And yes, we tipped) Sometimes, it seemed like when we gave a generous tip, they didn't seem to come back as often. The entertainment was just okay. We were not really impressed with any of the shows. The magic show was the best as for the shows that we saw. The dancers were pretty awesome. They really got the crowd out there dancing and they even taught you how to dance if you didn't know how. They were very patient and funny. We booked two sessions to have professional pictures taken on Thursday. When we went to the photo shop on Friday morning before our flight and we were told that we couldn't view our photos because our photographer was not there and the man who was there could not show us them. So we ended up leaving and not being able to see our photos. Overall the service was below any resort I have visited in the past. The front desk never understood what we were asking and gave us wrong information several times. I would never book at this or any of its sister resorts ever again.

    Terrible

Super bad, would not recommend because key card broke down 7 times within the 10 days of vacation and the food taste the same every day almost nothing new, and only got 1 bed and a couch bed for my 3 member family, while my friends family got 3 beds for 4 members??? Not just that, but the elevator broke down and 3 people got stuck inside for almost 2 hours, therefore will NOT come back
