Iberostar Grand Paraiso for our 30th Anniversary
My wife and I celebrated our 30th anniversary at the Grand Paraiso in Cancun. We had an amazing time and we'll go back when we can. There are 5 different properties and the Grand is the most "Grand" of them all. It's an "Adult Only"resort which is what we were looking for. Our room was "Ocean front" and it was worth the price we paid. The upgraded room also included a butler which was a nice option. Our butlers were Irman, Fernando, Tania and Ana. They were all very kind, available and knowledgeable. We really connected with Irman during our stay. He was the one that we had the most contact with. He made us feel like family. If we go back, we'll request Irman again for sure. They also give you the option to "turn down" your room every night. If this is something that you don't want, I suggest you make the request to your butler so they don't knock on your door after 8 pm. The few times we took them up on the offer, the "turn down" service was nice. The food was amazing. They have 5 restaurants to choose from for dinner. 1 of them was being remodeled when we went. The 2 restaurants that we did go to were top notch. For most of our stay we went to the buffet with was always opened for breakfast (7 AM-10:30) and lunch (11 am-4 PM). The buffet was also opened for dinner 2 of the evenings during the week. The food was incredible especially for a buffet. Room service is 24 hours and it was also very good. We arranged to have coffee and 2 lattes delivered to our room every morning at 6:30. The kitchen also sent up a variety of delicious pastries every morning. We had reservations every night at one of the amazing restaurants but we ended up cancelling and going just 2 out of the 7 nights because we were more than satisfied with late lunches at the buffet and the option of room service. We chose to spend more time laying out and reading by the pool rather than having to dress up for dinner. The property is beautiful and very clean. The staff is constantly cleaning and beautifying. They are excellent and very professional at what they do. Everyone is also friendly. The butlers, concierge, the waiting staff, the gym attendants, etc. Speaking of the gym, there are 2 of them on the property. One is specifically for "The Grand" guests only. It is a smaller gym located at the indoor pool that is supposedly filled with minerals, comes with a juice bar, hot tub, steam room and dry sauna. I tried using the steam room and sauna once, neither of them were very hot in temperature. The main gym is in the middle of all 5 properties. It's clean, nice and well-equipped. It wasn't ever crowded when I went. It has everything you need including outside tennis courts, a basketball court and pickle ball courts nearby. There are 3 pools on the property. The "quiet" pool, the "exercise pool" and the "party pool". All pools come with several "hot tub pools" around them. But the hot tubs are not very hot. I believe it's by design. They're right at around 90 degrees which isn't very hot in my opinion for a hot tub. Other than that, the pools and the servers at the pool are phenomenal. We spent most of our time at the "party pool" which had activities throughout the day. Activities like "water volleyball", "water aerobics", "corn hole tossing", etc. You could join in on the activities or just relax as much as you'd like. Julio, the pool activities director was funny, entertaining and inclusive. Great job Julio! Every night they had a show/entertainment at 9:30 PM. We never went because we were wore out from relaxing all day so we were already in bed. We heard some of the shows were great and others were average. I can't really honestly give an opinion as I never took the opportunity to attend. On our first day there, the concierge invited us to a breakfast the next day that included showing us the entire property and purchasing a "special package" for future vacations at any Iberostar property. We declined the offer but we were asked several more times though out the week if we were interested. We just kept declining. After hearing from a few other guests, we were thankful that we declined. That's all I'll say about that. The beach is beautiful. White sand, huge waves, emerald blue and green water most of the time. They were having a seaweed problem while we were there. I heard from someone on our way back that the seaweed issue was pretty much every where because of climate change and not just in Cancun. The sunrises and sunsets were picturesque. So beautiful and breathtaking. Ultimately, our stay was memorable and one of our most favorite vacation experiences. I highly recommend the Iberostar Grand Paraiso if it is in your budget and you enjoy being pampered, the sun, tropical rains, amazing food and very friendly people.
Another amazing vacation!
My wife and I had another amazing week's vacation at the Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraiso early in December. I believe this was our 31st stay and we are scheduled to return mid- April for another week of great service, fine dining and relaxation. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted, as always, by Ricardo who escorted us to our oceanfront room on the third floor. This had to be one of the very best rooms on the property. The view from the room is spectacular! Thank you, Efren. As many reviewers have mentioned, the property is beautiful and the staff works very hard to keep everything looking pristine. A special mention to Adriana who provided my wife some information on ordering blouses she had admired. We would also like to acknowledge the outstanding service of some of our servers this stay; Juan at the La Brisa lunch who quickly learned our order, Roberto at L'Atelier, and Willy at La Brisa lunch. We spend much of the day poolside and the pool concierges, Mirna, Manuel and Guadalupe were especially attentive. The drink server at the pool, Maya, was very friendly. Henry, who is the supervisor of the butlers, always goes out of his way to meet with us to talk and check that all is going well during our stay. We very much enjoyed our dinners at Tony's, the Haiku, L'Atelier and the Venecia. We found the house wines, both the Chardonnay and the various reds available to be enjoyable.
The iberostar Grand Paraiso was amazing! The StarPrestige team were outstandingThe iberostar Grand Paraiso was amazing!
The Iberostar Grand Paraiso and the StarPrestige Membership Team were outstanding! We stayed there in November 2022 and the accommodations, food/drinks and amenities were phenomenal! I want to mention some very special people starting with our Butler, Luis and Dani they were personable, extremely organized and a pleasure to talk to each day. The StarPrestige membership team, particularly Abel, Emanuele (Italiano🇮🇹) and Omar were simply the epitome of professionalism! They were patient with all of our questions and have helped us re-book another trip with our family, which we will arrive this Saturday! I can’t say enough great things about this property, it’s absolutely gorgeous and the Oceanfront Suite Rooms are over the top and worth it!!! The restaurants are all delicious! A special mention to Emilio, Elizabeth, Gustavo and amazing Violetta are just a few of the wonderful people at this property!!! This is now our second home and everyone here, including all of our concierge drivers especially Roberto treated us like we’ve known them for years and part of their own family! Thank you for all that you do and we can’t wait to see you in two days! Warmest regards, Tina and Mario DeLuca
Great vacation to do nothing
The resort was enormous! Peter helped us to get a free catamaran snorkeling trip by listening to a 90 minute sales pitch. Be sure to ask for a free round of golf as well! There isn’t much to do except eat, drink, and relax. This is not for an adventure vacation.
