Excellent resort for diving family with kids!

This resort totally exceeded our expectations. This was the first time my husband and I have been able to dive together everyday since we've had kids. Our biggest concern was the AI food and we had a back-up plan to rent a car and leave the resort to eat out. The buffet turned out to be amazing for our family with loads of quality fresh fruit and veggies at every single meal. Some Mexican food is available at breakfast, lunch, and dinner and the pico de gallo, guac, pickled red onions, grilled peppers, and frijoles were fresh and well-made. The nightly themes changed up the dinner offerings and we enjoyed sushi, poke tartare, tapas with prosciutto and fresh melon throughout the week. Was Spanish night like eating at La Boqueria in Barcelona - of course not! But we actually looked forward to meals and we didn't grow tired of the food options during a one week stay. Star Camp was amazing and my kids loved hanging out with Rosa, Sol, and Ismael who took them around to play pickleball, introduced them to all the animals, in addition to endless craft activities. Kids club doesn't open until 10am (and has an afternoon break) but you can make arrangements with the Star Camp counselors to cover those gaps if you're diving. My kids really enjoyed having breakfast or lunch at the buffet with the Star Camp crew and they always asked us about food allergies, kids' preferences, etc. before we ran to catch the dive boat. Our kids are older yet often preferred to return to kids camp instead of hanging out with us after we were done diving. We will definitely return and I'm so grateful for how easy this trip was for me. Beautiful dives and a nice break from grocery shopping, cooking, loading the dishwasher. Staff was uniformly great and they were just as gracious and helpful as our fav PDC 5star resort. There are other AI resorts on Coz but the Kids Club and close proximity to the reef (5-10 min boat rides) will keep us coming back to Iberostar.

    Halirio is the Captain!!!!

Hilario the Captain was AMAZING!! He made us the best fire coffee. The service was great. The food was even better! They had such a great spread. The sushi, egg rolls, pad ti was the best we have had yet. Hilario went above and beyond to help us with my daughter’s food allergies. I will be eating there again before I leave!!

Wonderful Resort Checked All The Boxes

Wonderful resort with excellent staff and beautiful grounds. They have 3 on-site restaurants in Asian, Mexican and Smokehouse. All of which are good, but the real star is the buffet with endless selections and very quality food to suit any taste or palate. Overall, the activities are somewhat minimal and the alcohol selection is somewhat limited unless you pay a premium for top tier. There is an on-site theater and every night at 9 they have a production. We had a magic show, A rock show, A variety type show. karaoke night all the what's good. Would definitely recommend I'm very family friendly. With an older crowd vibe.

Great time at Iberostar! Make sure to keep dive gear inside!!

We had a fantastic stay at Iberostar Cozumel. The food exceeded our expectations. The staff was extremely friendly, and the property was beautiful. This was our first experience at an all-inclusive and we will definitely be back. We used Dressel divers that is on site to dive with. The operation was very well run and the divemaster's were great. They went above and beyond to make our diving great while dealing with extremely rude divers. My only complaint of the trip could also be blamed on me. I was using the porch of our room to allow my diving gear to dry in the sun. When we came back from a fishing excursion, I noticed my dive camera setup was out of place and the flashlight had been taken. It was put on with a clamp and set screw and was definitely stolen as I know it was there when we left. The resort was friendly and said they would be on the lookout for it, but I believe it was already long gone. Fortunately, my travel insurance covered the cost, so I wasn't out anything. So just be smarter than me, and make sure you leave all your dive stuff up. Other than that, we couldn't of asked for a better week!

Another fun trip to Iberostar Cozumel

First, to dispel an inaccuracy in recent review, the “entire” resort does not smell of sewage! I am here on my 12 th vist. Yes, they do environmentally responsible watering with recycled waste water and walking in mornings you will get some whiffs . But only on the paths when they are watering. I have never in 120 days being there smelled anything in pool, food service , beach or dive shop areas. Great staff, Wilbert the best, but all very good. Yea it is Mexico and things are different . Rooms are spartan but adequate. Workout facility decent considering usage and price. No, they do not have every piece of equipment for every muscle group.. Thermostats do not seem to work well and room is cold at night. AC shuts off when vacated. Wish shows were earlier. 9 late for me. Lobby entertainment good! Dive staff wonderful ! Limited choices on beer, rather no choice, Dos Exxes or..Dos Exxes. Negative reviews must be from wealthy peeps used to a staff catering to their every whim and a 5 star Michelin chef on hand. Prior reviewer said 20 bucks cab ride to town; We paid 25 plus tip.
