Will not return
The food was not that great at all. Got a stomach bug. The bartenders at the pool bar acted like you were bothering them. The walls between the rooms are paper thin. Could hear every word from the other rooms. The hotel overall was not being taken care of. I will not come back to this hotel.

First Anniversary Trip
We had an amazing time at the Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya for a second time celebrating our 1st anniversary. the food and service is the best. Tempest Grille is a must do! The Hibatchi chefs really put on a great show and make wonderful food. The pool bar is always a fun place to be. the seaweed was bad, but that was no fault of the hotel, they worked tirelessly to keep the beach clean.

More staff
My overall experience is that the place isn’t bad but there’s nothing about it that would make me want to return to this or any Hyatt hotel We had a swim out room large room good layout small pool though The biggest disappointment is that it seems like in most restaurants and bars they were short staffed. More than once I saw the host/hostess clean tables bus food and remove plates. In my opinion you can’t be considered a better tier hotel and not have the staff to attend the guest Also the buffet needs to be open every day and if not then every other restaurant needs to be open and staffed

Under staffed
Just finished staying at Hyatt Zilara in Riviera Maya. It was different. Over all i would say our stay was fine. Not exactly what I would expect to say about a Hyatt. This was my first time staying at an American owned chain. I have stayed in Excellence, Majestic and RUIs. The room was very clean and spacious. I was shocked to find out that there was no hard alcohol in the rooms. You can only get wine through room service to your room. We stayed in a swim up room and there was no way to get drink service to our swim up. The area is secluded. The privacy is nice but the no cocktails forces you to make trips to the pool bar with a yeti to bring back alcohol to your room or just drink and use the main pool, but that defeats the purpose of a swim up room to me. The pool bar usually had one bartender, Nelson he managed the crowd well. Hard working employee. When we would eat at a restaurant you could see the hostess doing multiple jobs, in fact not just thr hostess. The bus boy was bringing water, taking orders and bringing orders out, while getting the drinks from another location. Our order ended up going to a table near us through this confusion. The hostess can be seen wiping down tables and bringing coffee or water. The employees are very friendly and helpful but they could only do so much. My go to drink is Jameson and one night they completely ran out. I'm not sure how that happens. Maybe it's not popular to stock but it was a big selling point when I booked here. There appears to be two animation staff. There is no Michael Jackson show.. usually a staple among the Caribbean all inclusive. The Legends late night area is on the small side. Actually everything seems small. The Italian restaurant, Lola beach restaurant and the buffet were all smaller then I am use to. I found it unusual that there was never a buffet every night. The hotel seems to funnel patrons to Lola beach restaurant or the buffet. Some days you don't want to wait to be seated and have someone take your order which makes a buffet a great choice but there are days the buffet is closed. Martina was making Mexican food at the buffet and it was very tasty. The sausage in the buffet was bland not sure how they managed that. We had a small issue with the toilet clogging but the hotel fixed it immediately. Another thing I found unusual or I have just become accustomed to, having a place to leave my room service dishes. It always felt weird to pile them on the floor outside my room. The coffee shop and thier employees were always a treat. One of the better things I liked that the Hyatt did was use an APP. This made making reservations easy and easy to see what was open and what wasn't. I realize this wall of text is jumbled but I wanted to post this while the trip is very fresh at the airport using my phone. The beach was empty due to all the seaweed. I do not hold this against the hotel I saw them constantly cleaning but maybe May isn't a good time or global warming no idea.

Quaint Resort
I booked my trip to Hyatt Zilara with Kayla through Dream Makers Vacation Services. I can always rely on Dream Makers Vacation Services to ensure a smooth booking process and taking care of all of my travel needs. Hyatt Zilara is a quaint, clean resort with excellent food, drinks and service. It has all that you need within quick walking distance. For being a smaller resort, it never felt overcrowded and there were never wait times for restaurants. It is a short 30-ish minute drive from the airport (which is a huge plus). The room was spacious and the ocean front views and sounds were top tier. It is a perfect venue for celebrating a special event (i.e. wedding, birthday, vow renewal). I would definitely return to Hyatt Zilara for a quick weekend getaway.
