$70 for parking
$70 a night for parking, $45 for breakfast, $59 resort fee. Way overpriced for what you get. Pool is tiny and gets very crowded. Location is on the very busy waikiki Beach which is packed during the day. Stayed during February 2024.
Subpar from a resort & spa.
It is a simple old hotel with thin walls and weak water pressure from the shower and sink. For the price this hotel charge, other hotels can offer better with cheaper prices. It should be consider a hotel and not a resort & spa.
Not what I expected when I booked a Hyatt hotel
Let me start with the staff was friendly and helpful, my room was clean. Everything was so dated and not in working order. The lanai door wouldn't unlock in my first room, they switched me right away, but my second room had an automatic door opener that made a horrible noises every time I went in and out, the closet was afterthought wooden armoire that had less than a foot worth of space to hang close, furnishings were old and dated, stains on desk chair, more along the lines of a hotel chain half the price of this. Location was great, buffet was good, service was great, grounds were great - rooms were not. I would not book this hotel again.
Strange yellowish thing on bathtub
The experience on the first day ruined the rest of our trip. The valet staff did not allow us to unload our luggages as we selected self parking. We needed to carry our luggages from the parking across the street to the check in area. After we visited the beach and was in the middle of the shower we identified a soft yellowish thing on the tub at the water drainage. This ruined the rest our stay. Our room change request was not granted but instead we got three day parking waived. I appreciate the gesture but it obviously did not make us feel better. After the first day, the rest of the stay was good.
We will never stay at this hotel again
When we checked in the person helping us was abrupt. So started our vacation... She told us nothing about the amenities the hotel had to offer. All she wanted was to get our credit card, give us a room key and get to the next person. It took us days to find out what we should have known on day one. There was no "Aloha" spirit. We told the lady (different one) this when we checked out and all she could say is "Aww I'm sorry". The hotel seemed in a general state of disrepair. One of the escalators was broken so we had to walk to the opposite end of the huge hotel to get the remaining one or climb lots of stairs to get to the lobby floor which we usually did. We saw an area where wallpaper was peeling, the WIFI was sketchy and the bathroom in our room could have been cleaner. We came back to our room one afternoon to find our door wide open, two large men standing there talking with other people in surrounding rooms. They said they were there to fix our TV (which wasn't broken). I asked them if they could do anything about the WIFI and they said they were working on that too. Nothing changed however....The only thing consistent with what you would expect from a Hyatt Regency were the prices. After spending nine nights there, and the experience we had, best advice we can give to you is stay somewhere else.
