DO NOT RECOMMEND
I stayed there from 5/26 to 5/30 for the memorial weekend. It was supposed to be a mini-vacation get away but turned out very unpleasant. originally had it booked for a night but my gf decided to stay the whole weekend to I booked additional days. The first night on 5/26 checking in with Front desk agent Daisy was very smooth and she was very accommodating. However, the second day when I extended the stay, they had us check out of our original room at 1pm when the other room was not ready until 4pm. They ended up putting us in a different room from what we originally requested. This room plumbing did not work and the toilet would not flush. We requested room to be serviced on the 3rd day of our stay and they did not show up until I called 4 times. The whole time we were there, the Jacuzzi did not work for 2 days. Also, on our last day we requested a late check out and it was denied. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Dishonest people working in hotel
Charged twice for parking and not ready to accept. Told us we have food credit then when we checked out we asked for the final bill they said restaurant hasn’t sent us the bill we will apply the food credit and email the bill don’t worry. Then when the bill came it didn’t have food credit on it. Had to fight for it. But then saw 2 charges of parking. Once at check in and one in final bill. Not ready to accept. Keep showing us the same bill that has the food credit and once parking charge. Not ready to accept that they charged us at check in also for parking.
Dirty is everywhere! Why? Lazy? Don't Care, enjoy the view....
That bubble got busted. So, first off I have wanted to stay at this hotel for awhile and every year I come for work with the Long Beach Grand Prix it of course is full, but again, it was what I thought was a great place turned out to be very disappointing. I have to be brutal honest because it was not what I expected. I also know it will probably not change because the whole reason I moved from the Anaheim Hampton Inn was to get away from the mess, and that stay was HORRID and I needed to give my son at least one night of a nice stay. The view was great, but that was about it. The overall was average. The weather was cold, windy and not sunny so that played a small role, but they can't control the weather. The front end manager did help me get into my room because as expected the transfer was suppose to be easy, it wasn't they were suppose to take care of my room from Anaheim but that didn't happen as expected. That aside, the hotel was suppose to be nice room upgrade, but I guess water view is just that. That is a must. If I had to look at the parking lot I would have left. The worst part is how extremely dirty the entire place was. It was like it looked like they didn't care. Every door mat to every room was dirty and looked like it had never been cleaned. The elevator is in major need of replacing bad. It was old, slow, and just plain major dirty ( See photo ). The idea that it being dirty means that nobody has disinfected it much less sweep which is not that hard to do. I can assure you that the reply to this will be a general Thank you for making us aware of it and we will talk to the staff and make sure they take care of it. I can promise that will be the reply. The issue is It should not even be something to start with. That falls on the GM who evidently didn't or hasn't walked his/her property daily, much less weekly or the overall appearance would not be like this. I am being critical because the entire purpose was to have a nice, pleasant , enjoyable one night stay. The fact that I went from a hotel that I got my car broken into because of all the homeless, the pathetic staff, and asked them to help me move to another property you would think after almost a week it would be one good day. So, we finished out the trip not happy at all, disappointed to much, and in some respect surprised. The Maya bills itself as a seaside resort, it was far short. I am sure the Fire pit at night helps, etc. but think about this. You leave there and go back to your room you have to see all the other things and that pretty much blows it. Maybe next time I will get that special better room that makes all the difference. Oh, that room by the way is called the Loft suite and you have to book it thru the Sales Office for some reason it's that special. It was what I thought we would have because of the idea they knew how bad my stay was and of course my son picked it out on app in the pictures. It is not even featured on the app so don't think you will know about it for some stupid reason. Hiding a room for special use makes no sense to me, much less I can't see how Hilton allows it. Long Beach was nice because he saw the Queen Mary, boats on the water and the pretty lights on the OTHER SIDE, LOL I had enough and after seeing something as small as total dirty hotel I had it. Waste of points that for damn sure. Lastly, don't let the photo they use to represent the hotel fool you like it did me. There is a tiny private bit of sand to put your toes in, but you again, gotta get the right room, it's limited to about 4 rooms that open on the 1st floor. I was or thought that was where they had put us but by the time we were allowed to check in we went from 1st floor to 3rd floor in Building 1 ( ask for Building 2- shorter distance to walk )
Although the restaurant was in a beautiful location, it was not very family friendly. The waiters looked at us crazy and slightly judgy with our two boys in pajamas at 8am trying to catch a bite. On a better note, FD was so helpful. We came with some technical difficulties but Alexa was very patient and accommodating. Thank you for the personal touch! .
Views are amazing!
Hotel Maya is a picturesque spot to stay outside of the hustle and bustle of Long Beach. It's close enough to Uber over to Downtown, and provides a great view of the harbor. I was impressed with the hotel customer service, going out of their way several times for our group during our stay. The free cookies on arrival were a nice touch! The attached restaurant, Fuego, with great views to dine outdoors or indoors if it was too cold, was excellent and offered free coffee in the morning for guests. The rooms on the far end of the resort (toward Queen Mary) seemed to need an update, but they were clean and comfortable. Overall, a great stay, would come back when visiting Long Beach!
