May 27, 2023Cheap and cheerful- kinda
We took this vacation as a cheap and cheerful vacay after what has felt like the longest winter ever. The hotel itself is dated and underwhelming. The staff weren’t overly eager to help, nor very cheerful. Lol. The food at the buffet wasn’t great, but the restaurants were better. The beach and the impeccable weather is really what saved this vacation for us. We mostly sat on the beach and island. They had the most shaded areas and were closest to the food huts. Even though we mostly lived off of hot dogs, ice cream and jerk chicken for our 7 days, i would go back in a pinch. If you’re on a budget this is a great option. The rooms were clean enough and comfortable. Just don’t go looking for 5 star service- or really any type of service. Be prepared to grab your own coffee in the morning, wait in line 10+ min for a drink, and probably be disregarded if you ask for much of anything.

The worst hotel experience ever!!! The staff was unfriendly and discourteous. Beginning at reception where the receptionist was not receptive, shouting rudely at us. The Bare foot grill staff was so disrespectful, my colleague had to demand not to be spoken to in that manner. This was generally the attitude except for Oniel at the Barefoot Bar and the bartenders at the Jerk pit. The lifeguards at the water sports area were great sports though. We were on the 4th floor, the lift wasn't operational and the stairway was wet musty an unpleasant odour threatened to assinate traversers. We had a triple occupancy room with two small beds and an unmade pullout and no additional sheets or blankets. There was inadequate supplies for us in the bathroom as well and after calling several times had to make do until we receive toiletries but no bedding. The food was meh, variety was severely lacking and replenishment was slow..and I could go on and on 🙄😠

4th visit to Holiday Inn Resort
Room was very clean, the bed extremely comfortable. Room attendant Shari made sure that we had clean towels, that the room was clean and tidy. She helped to make us feel at home. She even used the towel to make a swan and placed it on the bed.

May 24, 2023Not terribly ,more clean water
Well mostly love it here, dont like pool closing at 6PM ,they can wait another hour or so to put chemicals in..... house keeping comes.makes our bed but leaves no clean towles...overall not horrible but not 5 star either! Food could use a more reglar food for us non foodies. Ran out of rum.so we bought our own hahaha more beer selection needed as well!!!! Room was great!Get it together hokiday inn and well come back here!!!

May 23, 2023An amazing Jamaican Resort
Another fabulous 10 day vacation at the Holiday Inn Montego Bay Jamaica! We had a beautiful Oceanfront room overlooking the island on the resort. Our room was very clean, stocked with everything we needed. If we needed anything we either asked our wonderful housekeeper, Keisha Wright whom was amazing. Keisha is a very friendly person with always a smile on her face! If she didn't have whatever we needed she went and got it without problem. I did call guest services once and my items were delivered within 15 minutes. Checking in was extremely fast in the VIP guest area. Thank you to Karisha and the other ladies in the check in area. They are always friendly and just lovely people! Dwayne was our Porter and is a kind man. So welcoming to us and made sure all was fine in our room before he left. There is a buffet for all meals and a large variety of foods for all. There are 4 specialty restaurants on site. The Seabreeze is a seafood restaurant that is very good. It sits right by the Caribbean beach. Beautiful atmosphere and great staff as always. A special Thank you to Karen Tomlinson for always being such a wonderful hostess, server and all around great lady! The Terrace is a Jamaican restaurant upstairs from lobby with great food and a great view as well. Sorrento is an Italian restaurant with amazing food choices. Thank you to our wonderful waitress Teddeisha. Kenko is a Japanese restaurant where you sit at a table with others, usually 8 people and the Chef cooks what you want along with a fun show he preforms while cooking. Chef Kirby you're the best and so much fun! The beachfront is beautiful. There's a lot of beachfront from one end of the resort to the other. Plenty of umbrellas and trees for people that need shaded areas. You never have to worry about a lounge chair there are plenty! The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and the groundskeepers work so hard at keeping them this way. One of my favorite spots is Tek It Easy island which is a little island on resort that you can walk in the water to get to. The water is knee deep and the snorkeling is great at and around the island. There are plenty of great spots to snorkel on resort. One of my favorite things to do. We spent 4 days at the adult beach, rented a Cabana and had our own butler. They bring anything you need to you, filled cooler of drinks and are a lot of fun! Robert and Shaun were great as our butlers. The adult pool has a swim up bar and is a nice spot to spend your day. Our bartender "Shorty" is friendly and an amazing fast bartender! It's great meeting people from all around the globe. The entire staff is amazing. As far as entertainment there is always something going on during the day and nightly shows. Noel you a great entertainment guy with a great staff. You know how to get the people moving especially myself! Noel tried to teach me to dance but let's Judy say I'll never be able to dance like him but I had a great time trying to learn! They have a managers Cocktail hour every Monday right on stage which is really fun and a great way to meet staff and managers from different departments. If you are a repeat guest they have a Return Guest dinner on Wednesday evenings which is absolutely amazing. The food they serve is the best, they have entertainment and always prizes to win. Some people I've noticed on Trip Advisor complain about certain things such as...they don't have something they need in their room. If you just call guest service I promise you will get what you need. They will make every effort to get it for you. People also complain about bottled water. You usually get it in your room upon arrival and not everyday but the water there is perfectly fine to drink. There are plenty of soda and ice machines around. It's a great idea to bring your own big cup or bottle and they will fill it with drinks or just for ice water. You can't complain if you do not try and call or ask someone what it is you need. Last of all I would like to say that the resort has the Best Manager you can ask for! Winsome Smith Hooper you are by far one if the kindest woman I know!
