Good except the neighborhood
So we have relatives in Portland so we come twice a year. We had a bunch of points but there were no rewards nights available at the IHG hotel at Cascade Station so we came here by default. Pros: Close to the airport. Close to Cascade Station with stores and restaurants. Room was clean. Beds are super comfy. Price is right. Check-in was easy. Staff was pleasant and responsive. There is a restaurant here but there is no free breakfast because of that which brings us to the cons. Cons: We are on the 7th floor facing west. Lovely view of a homeless encampment. I wish my room faced East because it stays light till 9-ish and with her lag, I’d rather not have the sun blazing at night. It’s a super ugly industrial area with lots of homeless. Definitely wouldn’t walk anywhere not that there’s any place to walk to but as mentioned about it’s a quick drive to stores. You have to pay for parking. The rooms are adequate but small…will need renovation soon. So I’m not doing cart wheels but it’s been pretty pleasant all in all.

Woke me up, over and over
Middle of the night, fire alarm goes off. No fire. Issue with the system. Ok. It happens. Go back to sleep. Happens again. Called front desk and after 20 rings, finally pick up and tell me there’s”no problem”. I go BACK to sleep…front desk CALLS ME AND WAKES ME UP AGAIN! “Just letting you know we’re giving you a discount”. Ugh. I just want sleep, ma’am. Next day, after meetings are done, come back to my room to get a nap. GM CALLS AND WAKES ME UP TO TELL ME THEY’RE GOING TO SET THE ALARMS OFF AGAIN!! All of this…and they give me 500 points. Not 10k. Not even 5k. They didn’t even apologize!! They just blamed a” faulty system “. I wish I was making this up. PATHETIC CUSTOMER SERVICE. Just run.

Clean and close to airport
Very clean and safe feeling. The staff was very friendly and to have a free airport shuttle was a bonus. We traveled with a dog so only double beds were available to us which wasn’t the best and really the only thing that I would change about our stay.

You can do better- lack of care with this location.
I've made the mistake of staying here twice now, and won't make the mistake again. The location is decent- everything is 15 minutes away or less, like Downtown, the Airport or Vancouver, but that's about the only good things about this place. When we arrived there's a gate into the parking lot where they try to charge $10/night for parking- luckily you don't need to grab a ticket to get past the gate, so we didn't on principal- this feels like a cash grab by ownership- there's no reason this hotel in the middle of the highway needs to charge for parking- there's no other amenities nearby that people would park here unless they were just staying at the hotel. The front desk/lobby area needs a big upgrade- it's super tack 90's vibes with a faux stone waterfall in a sub-level area where the restaurant is. The front desk staff as lacking as well, very cold and uninviting. The rooms are small and dimly lit- there was maybe 3 lamps? Inside the room the shower curtain was broken, and we found chewing tobacco under the bed from a previous guest. When I got a text from the hotel asking how my stay was I let them know and they offered free breakfast vouchers, and to check in with the front desk to get them. When I went to the front desk the staff person there didn't know about the offer, and when he got his manager she coldly got the vouchers from the drawer and walked away- no further apologies or anything. The next morning when we went to use the vouchers (which were only worth $12, which would barely cover a meal and coffee) we took a seat and ordered coffee, which was then spilled at my 7 year old daughters place setting with barely any apology; sure maybe they were embarrassed, but hot coffee spill by a kid? At this time there was one large table that had gotten there food, and one other single patron. After that we waited over 20 minutes for our waiter. In this time we saw someone order iced tea at the bar, and the waiter (who bless his heart was all alone) went to a backroom to get it. Then, no joke, we didn't see him for the next 15 minutes. Not just didn't see him at our table, but anywhere. I decided to go to our room to pack while my wife waited with the kids, but after waiting so long with no help, we just left the vouchers on the table and left. Other musings: -the saltwater pool is nice, but it's barely heated; there is also NO hot tub- how weird. -the parking lot is PACKED - train tracks right across the street, but oddly enough, not much plane noise. - thin walls, we could hear everything, including a barking dog somewhere in the hotel. Avoid this hotel, sure it's cheap, but it's worth it to spend a few more bucks to get a nice place.

One night stay.
Arrived earlier than checkin. Had room available and got us in at 11am. Super friendly staff. Room was clean as was grounds. Shuttle to and from airport and even gave us a free ride to local shopping district. Great stay close to airport and would recommend anytime needing a place near there.
