Too many old dirty building.
Beautiful resort and then you get stuck in a very outdated and dirty room. I paid good money for this gold crown and get a old dirty room. These resorts need to keep up the property and members pay to have this done.

The Good and The Bad
My family chose Holiday Inn at Orange Lake for the amenities and size of the Villa as we planned to hang out for 4 days and site see for 3 days. The 3-bedroom Villa in East Village is huge! Loved the jacuzzi tub for one in the primary room, however it was nasty and had to be cleaned prior to use. The furniture in the family area needs to be shampooed. The kitchen is outdated and needs additional items to making cooking easier (even something as simple as a measuring cup would have been helpful), but it is functional, and the table fits a large family well. The A/C didn’t work, but we were lucky the evenings were cool and just opened the windows. I was a sucker and agreed to timeshare sales pitch tour. Yes, it saved us money, but it was disappointing on a couple levels. First, the 90 minutest turned into 150 minutes. Every time you politely said no, there was another pitch with a different person. Some of the sales staff were rude when I objected. We bought the 7-day fun pass at a discounted rate, due to the sales pitch. However, we were not able to use the pass 3 days due to the amenities being shut down. This was very disappointing. When I asked for a refund for the days we were not able to play putt-putt or climb the rock wall, the staff gave me the run around the reception area, literally. All the staff said it was not their issue and sent me to another department. In the end, no department would issue a refund. The amenities, when open, are nice. The lake is closed. The putt-putt at River Island is has a rubber surface and creates an oouji board experience. I don’t know how else to explain it. The ball went in directions unimaginable and unexpected. The putt-putt at West Village was old school, which was nice to know where your ball was going, however artificial turf was torn in many places and in need of much repair. We loved the lazy river, the kids said the slide was fun, and they spent numerous hours play water volleyball. The courts are nice too. I do wish it wasn’t so difficult to get the lights turned on for the courts at night and there was more knowledge provided to know where to check out items needed to play tennis, basketball, pickle ball etc. (By the way, check out is in the marketplace and different putt-putt areas.) It would have been helpful for the staff to know things as well. Most employees aren’t aware of what is provided at the resort or much less where to go. The landscaping is gorgeous and there is a Publix nearby as well as shops and restaurants. The location of the resort is not ideal if you are planning to go to the Mecum care show. Speaking of restaurants, the food we had at the resort was delicious.

Mixed so can't give 5 stars 2 Bedroom Villa
So as soon as you get in you know it's pretty decent area. The driving is a little annoying though. The check in took a bit of time even on a Thursday (but we came on a holiday weekend). The annoying part is that basically they hold your room keys hostage until you go to a desk that will ask you to take a tour that will later ask if you want to join the club. It's not too terrible. I honestly would have done it if I had more time. But mostly because I am a travel agent and like to get info everywhere I stay. We got our room keys after saying no thanks to the very nice staff at that desk. We drove a few blocks to our room...Which I get it, it's a large resort. But I wish there were roads that went around the sides as well as center. This way your not worried about having to go so slow. If you get a far room though...it's kind of annoying. Park right in front, there is a full rolling trash can outside. It is dark at night though, so we had our headlights on the car to see a little better. However, there is a porch light. So here comes the room part. This is a pretty decent room. This room is 2 bedroom 2 bath. I think maybe just over 1000 sq ft. maybe even 1200. But anyway As you walk in there is a walkway on one side is the little kitchen which has everything you need. It also has a full washer and dryer in a closet in the kitchen. There is a dishwasher, electric stove, microwave, medium size refrigerator, coffee maker, and pots and pans and plates, etc. There is a little bar area on the other side off the kitchen and behind that is a full dining room. on the other side when you walk in is a full bedroom with 2 large beds. These beds were pretty comfortable. there is a bathroom off that room but also can access it from the dining area. This common bathroom has a tub and shower and nice size vanity. As well as a closet with extra blankets and hangers. Going past the dining are is the living room with a couch with pull out bed, 2 chairs and a chaise lounge. A nice size tv and coffee table. There is a sliding door to a patio outside. I was surprised there wasn't a desk area though. I used the dining room as my office for the 4 days we stayed there. It was ok but had to use one side because of the placement of the plug. It worked out fine though. Just off the living room is the master suite. This room has a king bed, dresser and maybe 45ish inch tv. The bathroom sink is in a little tucked in area and on one side is a small closet and the other side is the door to the toilet and shower/jet tub. Now this room's bed was pretty uncomfortable. Might need to update the mattresses. The toilet was like toddler size. and the jetted tub had some issues. So we just took showers...which was fine. There is also another sliding door to the patio that is the entire back of the suite. In our room there was just views of a grass area and it had some little charcoal bbq stands back there. Breakfast was eh. The Starbucks coffee was worse than actual Starbucks so I went to a coffee shop elsewhere for coffee. Overall it was a pretty decent stay. Would I stay there again....Probably not just because it's semi inconvenient when you have to drive a lot and need a space to work at. But it's not a horrible place to stay. Just not my cup of tea.

Beautifu Resort
We loved our stay at East Village and are owners. Beautiful grounds and friendly staff. We stay here every year when visiting Florida. We were not so lucky at cash bingo. The golf courses are very well maintained.

Great Property/Horrible check in process
Stayed here for a soccer tournament at ESPN Wide World of Sports. Here's the pros and cons: PRO's: The property is definitely beautiful and located near all the parks. Currently renovating their rooms, some are already done. Loved that the parking was right by your condo. If you golf, great holes. Nice water park, unabale to use since we stayed during the cold wave. CON's: almost a 45 minute check in process. Ridiculous!!! Most people aren't going to buy in this economy, why put someone that just travelled through a gruelling process. Check us in and give us our keys. Offering "FREE" gifts if they can precharge your credit card before you go to the meeting...no thanks! The gym was hard to find and was run down. Many of their elipticals, bikes, and treadmills were broken. And NO TOWELS?!? in the gym? makes no sense. Overall great stay and property. The check in process is probably the one thing that will make me not want to book here again.
