Great Stay, Great Location, Great Staff
Loved staying at this property the staff, especially Ajla upon check in was so helpful. The whole staff was great. Excellent location, super close to everything yet very quiet. My room overlooked a lake and it was just beautiful. Highly recommend.

Misleading website stating amenities that weren't there.
The hotel website states that the restaurant serves breakfast and dinner. It only serves breakfast. This was disappointing. They have no real bar either. They have cheap wine in bottles to purchase on a small rack. Poor excuse for a bar. Room was big but needs upgrading, rust in bathroom was unappealing. Only one chair in room besides desk chair. No sofa to relax on either. Pool was the size of a postage stamp and looked dirty and lifeless. One elevator was not working yet no sign on door to let people know. Won't stay here again.

Hotel needs updating
Hilton Garden Inn is a budget-oriented brand, but the price for this HGI was not that low and the quality was below what I expect at that level. The property is located in a large suburban strip mall area, close to many restaurants and has views of a subdivision’s lake, but little else resembling scenery. The room had an odd smell, which I see other reviews mentioned. It’s an old and outdated property with low water pressure, popcorn ceilings and Formica surfaces and a generally faded look inside and out. The pool is tiny and the fitness room is microscopic. It wasn’t a terrible experience, but there’s nothing very nice about it.

Pleasantly Surprised
After a horrible experience with a Hilton Property in St. Louis, I was hesitant to stay at another Hilton Property. I was pleasantly surprised. What a great, welcoming staff. The General Manager, Belinda, was not only pleasant, she offered to help us with a reservation I made on the wrong date. The breakfast isn’t you run of the mill hotel breakfast. The quality of the food was excellent. Janice and Calvin was there to guarantee that everything wad satisfactory. In a world where customer service is becoming rare, this property continues to serve its customers with excellent service. I contribute this to Belinda the General Manager. The bed and pillows were wonderful! The room was very clean and comfortable.

Not perfect, but would return for a short stay.
I stayed here for about 10 hours total. Just a quick overnight and continue on my way. Everything around town was pretty pricey due to a nearby festival. This seemed to be the most reasonable, well-reviewed hotel. I used the app to check in/out and the digital key feature. I was able to choose a room near the side entrance that viewed where I parked my car, which is what I wanted. I was not familiar with the area so I wanted to be able to keep an eye/ear on my car (it is a show car and can attract attention). Once I got there I felt the area was fine and was not too worried. There was a great restaurant in front of the hotel, seven bridges I believe it was called. After eating we went back to the room, again using the side entrance and bypassing the lobby--very convenient. The shower/tub had a big rust stain around the overflow, which while unsightly, was really the biggest "issue" if you can call it that. There was a small insect of some sort in the tub, but it was barely the size of an ant and it was the only one I saw. Living in Florida, and this being a first floor room, it didn't surprise me or bother me much. I cannot say much about the location as I'm not familiar with Jacksonville, but I would return here for another stay if I was passing through. Nothing to say about service because I didn't see or speak with anyone.
