Pros/Cons/General Comments
Just came back from a week at Haven. Some Pros/Cons/General Comments PROS - Pools open 24 hours - Smoke free facility (only a few designated areas for smoking) - Handheld steamer in room - A lot of storage in rooms .. we actually had empty drawers which never happens - Jacuzzi tub for all balconies, except swim out rooms - Above average chance of having a room that will see the ocean - Double rain shower head in shower and hook in the shower to hang towel to keep warm or hang shower cap - Cubby to put room service dishes in so that it doesn’t have to sit in the room - Button to press which lights up an icon outside of the room if you’d like maid service or not - Pathways were fine to walk in bare feet - never got hot where you couldn’t walk in bare feet - Pool wait staff were amazing by the party pool - never had to get up to get a drink - serenity club or not didn’t matter - Bracelet is also room key - Everyone can book restaurant reservations themselves on the app (do not need to be serenity to do this) - Food at this resort is above average - steaks actually cooked rare. Can always find something to eat. Tried all Al La Carts and always found something we enjoyed. Their presentation of dishes at some restaurants was top notch, very impressive. - Lunch you could do self serve - freshly bbq burgers, hot dogs, tacos, chips and cheese and they always had something special cooking as well. Also sit down beside the quiet pool, had a little menu but great items - no dress code. Vistas (serenity club) had a larger menu - paella for two made to order! Dress code. - Communicate with “butler” via WhatsApp and was always taken care of. He never sought us out, only saw him when we arrived but that was fine for us, all questions were answered by text. - Party pool entertainment was great. Dj started at 11. Always changed it up, some days a violinist, saxophonist, acoustic guitar, singers, etc for a period of time. Quiet pool was night and day to party pool - two different worlds - so there’s a pool for your mood - Burlesque and magic show were really good. MJ cancelled last minute :(. Watching karaoke was fun. Did a play for fun casino night in lobby one night that a lot of people got involved in. - Boyfriend’s birthday, they did sand art at the pool for him, butler organized a little cake sent to the room, banner on the door, sign at the dinner table. - All staff were so nice and friendly and helpful and truly amazing. - Always doing repairs to the facility to keep it looking fresh. Of course there’s wear and tear as the resort is now 6 years old and right on the ocean but I think it was the most modern and had the most beautiful touches in features/designs - Serenity club they give you a beach bag at no cost so if you forget yours, you’re covered - No one bugging you to buy excursions. There is a booth but you can walk by and they don’t say anything CONS - Cabanas to buy at the pool - outrageous price and no one ever used them. Wasted space - “Reserved” seats to buy at the show - again no one used them so waste of space and already limited space - The constant lobster purchase pop up in the app - Serenity club booze not available everywhere - Desperately need more chairs on the beach - there’s hardly any. the beach really isn’t bad so it’s disappointing that they’re setting it up this way - Men have to wear closed toe shoes to dinner - let the men free their toes on vacation! lol - Dress code (apart from shoes) was not strictly enforced .. some men wore t shirts when it should be collared shirts - this is fine but then don’t have a dress code - Sometimes towels ran out at the pool - they were restocked eventually but sometimes had to wait a little - No casino - might matter to some - No dehumidifiers to request in the room - ours was quite humid so our clothes always felt a bit damp - another resort had this option and it was amazing how often we were emptying out the bucket of water - it really helped - Theatre is quite small and pillars are so large that you have to get there early to get a good seat. Although the floor chairs are comfy, they are big and therefore less people fit. No designated serenity club seating. - $4 usd per night environmental fee which is mandatory when you check in - wasn’t aware of this GENERAL COMMENTS - Would be nice if two bartenders were at the pool bars, one to make drinks for servers and another to tend to the people waiting. - Because of the lack of chairs on the beach and the water isn’t the tropical blue colour, this is definitely more of a pool destination - Serenity pool was small so we could never get seats there but that’s okay as we liked the party pool better - We played a round of golf at El Tinto (brought own clubs) .. serenity club so we just had to pay for transportation. Average course compared to courses at home. Transportation for one person or two people still $30usd round trip. Uber cheaper but we didn’t want to risk being late. - From when we arrived to when we left the amount of people increased so we did eventually have to play the towel game (put down around 8/8:30) if you’d prefer a certain section of the pool - Room service around 11/11:30 took around 40-45 mins - If serenity club isn’t too much more in cost then I’d say it’s worth it but we felt we didn’t use “its privileges” as much at this resort. I.e. since we couldn’t get seats at serenity pool so we couldn’t use the poolside food service. Vistas pool restaurant you needed a cover up (cover top and bottom) and sandals - whereas I enjoy eating lunch in a bathing suit. Again, top shelf booze not available everywhere. No designated serenity club seats in theatre. Did enjoy the personalized check in. Butler takes you for a tour. Butler is always a text away to address anything (got our AC fixed very fast) or answer questions. - Don’t forget to tip! They work so hard, they deserve it!

I LOVE this place!!!!!
I can’t say enough on how wonderfully treated we were. It is my first time staying at an all inclusive, but I got admit I have heard horror stories from Coworkers, friends, family and honestly, I was very skeptical about coming, but boy I’m so glad I did. I will be back for sure

Would recommand!
Very nice week at this resort. Staff was cool especially Paloma at the main pool and Adrian at the lobby bar. The only negatives points: bad odor in the batroom at the end of the week, even if the room was cleaned everyday. And if you are in the bloc 2 (room 2xxx) and it’s raining, there is no possibility to go to the lobby and staying dry, even with the provided umbrella. Food was good with great variety. I would recommend this place.
