so much fun food was amazing best in Mexico, overall amazing weather, staff was great! Rob and baru are the best!! So kind. Entertainment was cool. Drinks were all good and we had great service the whole trip. I will be coming back here! The beach and pool were also perfect and kid friendly while able to have fun.

Jan 15, 2025Hard Rock - Could be better
Hotel is massive, 9 buildings and lots of restricted areas for members. First couple of days was hard navigating around because of the size. Restaurants are spread out and not in close proximity of each other. The resort faces a reef by the ocean and there is no “ocean tide beach” per se. They have man made beaches carved out of the reef. No direct ocean connected beaches. Staff are nice but you ask for something and they give you an answer and don’t follow through. Example: asked for a beach umbrella and they could not accommodate or be bothered to go look for one. Asked for our room to be cleaned and they give a time and don’t show up. They then show up at an inconvenient time were your getting ready for a function. Restaurant food was good but the layout of the (buffet) restaurant is confusing. Not a straight forward layout and food is not labeled for allergens and gluten. Some restaurants are restricted to adults only which makes it a pain if you have children. Expect 1 to 2 hour waits to get in. Main buffet was closed halfway through our stay for construction which made getting food a real challenge at night. Same old issue with deck chairs as every other resort. They have rules posted and do enforce them. 1/2 hour rule and you loose the chair if no one claims it. Rooms were nice but dated in some of the complexes. Drawers wouldn’t shut and hinges were sprung or misaligned. Overall it was ok but not on par with the neighbouring resorts.

Our group of five adults recently enjoyed a week-long stay at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya. For four of us, it was our third time to the resort – with the most recent being in 2022. Overall, it was a very fun and memorable experience and I would rate it a 4.5/5.0 score. Accommodations: We occupied two rooms: a Deluxe Gold Double Bed for three adults and a King Sky Terrace for two. Both rooms were spacious and comfortable, meeting our expectations. Service: The standout feature of our stay was the exceptional service throughout the resort. Staff members were consistently friendly and highly competent, enhancing our experience. The service at the adult pool was particularly noteworthy, both at the swim-up bar and in the lounge chair area. Light lunch options were conveniently available there daily. Dining: We dined at several on-site restaurants, all of which offered a variety of dishes accommodating diverse dietary preferences. The quality of food and service met our expectations, contributing to a satisfying culinary experience. Activities: • Golf: Two members of our group utilized resort credits to play golf at the Hard Rock Golf Club Riviera Maya in Playa del Carmen. They reported an enjoyable all-inclusive experience. • Spa: Two others indulged in massages at the resort's spa, finding the treatments relaxing and professionally administered. • Wine Tasting: All five of us participated in a wine tasting one afternoon, led by a knowledgeable sommelier. We sampled four high-quality Mexican wines, each paired with a complementary food item. It was an educational and delightful experience. • Evening Entertainment: The nightly entertainment options exceeded our expectations. We thoroughly enjoyed the larger shows in the auditorium, which were engaging and well-produced, as well as the live music and performances in the hotel lobbies. • Heaven Lobby Bar: We had a great time in the Heaven lobby bar, playing pool, enjoying drinks, and chatting with the friendly and personable bartenders. Areas for Improvement: • Pool Seating: Securing lounge chairs at the adult pool proved challenging. A significant portion of chairs were pre-reserved for resort club members, leaving limited options for other guests. Additionally, unreserved chairs were often claimed early in the morning, making it difficult for our group to find seating together. • Check-In Process: Despite arranging for early check-in, our rooms were not available until approximately 4:30 PM, which was later than anticipated. We also needed to wait in line a second time to receive our rooms. Time that we could have spent exploring and enjoying the amenities at the resort. • Restaurant Wait Times: On one occasion, we experienced a two-hour wait for dinner after placing our names on the list at 6:30 PM. This was longer than expected and slightly impacted our evening plans. Addressing the noted areas for improvement would further enhance the overall guest experience. In summary, our stay at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya was largely positive, highlighted by superior service, diverse dining options, enjoyable activities, and fantastic evening entertainment. We will likely return again in the future.

Excellent time as always
We visited HR Riviera Maya over NYE. The celebration was outstanding ! Fernando and Nacho were our Butlers. It was a special trip for our family. I explained that to them and they did some special things for my daughter. They also answered and followed through on every question and request we had throughout the week! The new changes to the resort and Heaven side are great! We have been coming here for over 10 years (6 visits), and I can really notice the changes they have made to refresh the resort! The drinks by Diego at Jigger and Shaker were top notch! I wish it was open every night! The morning staff at Faro was awesome! We tried to have the same people every morning and our last day, they gave us a great card and special breakfast dish! Very nice and unexpected! The view there is incredible! We had an amazing time and cannot wait to return!

Changes at HRRM, but still an amazing vacation.
I am a member and I haven't been to HRRM since 2019. Last time I went, half the resort was adults only. Now, only 2 buildings are adults only, so they are making it a more family oriented resort. The restaurants were very busy and it was difficult to get a table the first few days. We had an amazing couples massage, however the hydrotherapy is not included as part of the spa treatment any longer, which we were not aware of. You can still book the hydrotherapy, but at additional cost. The adults only pool (Eden) was great, and Ozzie and Mary were the best servers! We also really enjoyed eating breakfast at Faro restaurant every morning. Beautiful atmosphere, delicious food, and fabulous service. Shout out to the hostesses Paola and Cinthia, and waiters Marco and Francisco! We also did the romantic dinner on the beach and were surprised with a violinist and accordion player that played a few songs for us right at our table. It was a great way to spend our last night of vacation.
