One of the best hotels we have stayed at!

First of all, the hotel was gorgeous, the room we had was so spacious with a lovely view and a walk in closet- again so spacious. We were welcomed at the door and they have drinks/coffee and little bites you can have in lobby area for free which is a lovely touch! The staff were absolutely incredible, whenever you needed anything- before you could even ask it would be resolved for you. There was a lovely man who managed the pool area- I didn’t get his name, he would put the covers of the beds and get you fresh warm towels every morning, he was honestly the nicest man. Whenever he would see us without a pillow or without towels or if we just in need of anything he would already be there with it, just so kind. All the staff serving dinner were sooo lovely and kind and would always smile, the hotel did an amazing job at hiring all the staff and they’re all just soo kind and the service we received was exceptional. The food was lovely too, Iknow people have been saying food is tepid however I didn’t think that was the case. Would defiantly recommend people to go half board here as there are literally hardly any places nearby. Pool was freezing! But it was April so hopefully will be nice later in in year. And the heated pool wasn’t really headed unfortunately. Overall, hotel was 9/10 food was 7/10 and staff/service 12/10 Would definitely go again

Amazing stay at Hacienda del Conde

My husband and I stayed at Hacienda hotel located in north Tenerife for a week recently in March. It is undoubtedly one of the best hotels that we have stayed in. - The location is spectacular - With the ocean on one side, beautiful golf course on the other and mountains add to the backdrop. The hotel is near a quaint town called Buenovista which by the way has this bakery called El Alderno which makes yummy treats. Visit to another cute town called Garrachico is a must. We also went to Punta Teno (15 min bus ride from hotel) and Masca (25 min bus ride). If you like star gazing then a trip to Mt.Tiede is an absolute must (El Cardon nature company can make arrangements. They were brilliant). We were glad we stayed in this side of Tenerife rather than south Tenerife which is very commercial and touristy. - Warm hospitality and catering to dietary needs - The hotel staff were extremely warm and courteous. We had a few dietary needs (gluten free, vegetarian) and were not sure if they can accommodate these requests. But they went out of their way to ensure that all our dietary needs were met. Special mention here to all the staff in reception, those in the buffet restaurant, Laura (who is in charge of customer service) and Pawel (lead chef). - The spa is really good and worth a visit. Again a sweet, courteous and trained team of therapists working here. This is definitely a hotel and location that we would love to visit again. Highly recommend if you are visiting Tenerife!

    A lovely escape

Beautiful hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The surroundings are first class. It's quite a breezy spot, next to an excellent golf course, so the heated pool did take a bit of bravery. Lovely food with fresh ingredients. Rooms comfortable and spacious. A delightful retreat.

    Warm winter golf

From the airport if you have a choice of how to get to the hotel if you are not one for heights or hairpin bends then take the longer route, its only an extra half hour and the scenery is just as nice. The hotel looks like a collection of small groups of buildings and fits well into the local landscape Two pools one of which is heated at this time of year, still a bit cold for me but there were hardier souls then me taking a morning dip each day. The golf course runs in front of the hotel and down to the ocean. Our junior suite room looked directly over the 3rd green. The meal arrangements are buffet in morning and evening, great choice and as you would expect every type of egg or pancake in the morning cooked to order. In the evening the salad part of the buffet was excellent great variety each day with the required staples, good choice of mains, the only thing letting it down was the accompanying dishes to dinner were always cold. Should be possible to keep these warm or change it over more quickly, Really that was the only gripe. Prebooked the tee times for our weeks stay. Got a shuttle to the course the first day taking the clubs, 2 minutes from then after until we took our clubs back to the hotel we had a pleasant 5 minute walk to the pro shop. Good practice facilities for 1 euro can hit circa 20 balls(don't want to waste all my good shots). Course has tight fairways and very tricky greens all in good condition. Whilst busy, marshals kept it all moving, played with Germans, French, Dutch and Lithuanians and enjoyed all their company as well as the golf. Near the coastal holes take your cameras for spectacular waves crashing into the rocks and throwing up towering white water against a fabulous blue sky. A nice touch is the complementary drinks and snacks near reception, they became our 20th hole before hitting the pool.

Not gastronomic, but perfect in every other way!

What a fabulous hotel! It is large, but due to its clever design, it feel intimate whilst never being crowded. The hotel looks as though it is an old finca but, when I enquired, discovered it was only built 12 years ago. Thus its has a really characterful feeling although the star are are the gardens and horticulture…soooo well kept. So, rooms are characterful and possibly a little dated (although very Spanish so slightly hard to tell!). I had a sea view suite which was lovely - although due to Sahara sand there was not much sea to see…the open view was lovely of the golf course and gardens. Huge suite, with enormous dressing room (entirely wasted on a solo traveller on a budget airline - barely touched the sides 🤣). Staff were soo friendly and helpful - something I really value as middle aged lady travelling solo. I would say, that there were very few (no female) solo traveller when I was there, but I did not feel in any way awkward. It was not a social experience - the other guests where German golfers or couples…not much interaction but, as I say, I felt comfortable and happy throughout my stay. The spa is fantastic - I had several treatments and used the thermal pool experience twice. One of the best spas I have used and I have visited many! Food - well, this would be what I think could be improved - the breakfast is FANTASTIC. Snacks, free of charge in reception area…BRILLIANT. BUT dinner in the main restaurant is a buffet. I do not eat fish (allergic) so very limited starters (basically tapas cheese and meat every day, and a lovely selection of meat and veg options but barely tepid in temperature. Now I know that by not overheating you retain flavour, quality etc as things don’t overlook and dry out, but I just don’t like eating tepid food. This, combined with cold plates (which are necessary on a buffet) are not my cup of tea. That said, the food was delicious - meat tender and flavoursome…just not warm enough!! Desserts were lovely…but rather samey over 5 nights. I did not opt for the à la carte option at Salazar as I Iike variety and the buffet initially appealed. The Bar staff were very friendly and helpful, both in Izzo and the pool bar. My only comment about food in the pool bar would be that there need to be more “snack” options - whenever I ate there, it was lovely but much too much in terms of weight and quantity of food for a lunch. The location of the hotel is super - a brilliant circular walk around the coastline is gorgeous and very pretty, the nearby village of Buenavista del Norte is a 10 minute walk away. The hotel is excellent for arranging a taxi to Garachico - 20 mins away - and completely worth a visit. Historic, thermal pools, fabulous restaurants….and v pretty! Also, get a transfer from the airport via the hotel - I was quoted €450 by my holiday company - the hotel did both trips for €250! Will definitely be back!
