Horrible experience at this hotel.not recommend.

Started with the drive-in, was not pretty or kept up. I thought we were driving down an alley when we drove in. The main dining had no AC, the pool did not have easy access, pool bar was closed or under construction; to get around, it was up & down lots of stairs or long walks, adult pool had no swim-up bar, cheap liquor for drinks, beach was dirty, lots of locals on a day pass; beds were not comfortable, room cleanliness was ok. Staff was not friendly or helpful. We stayed one night and left! Definitely not a 4-Star hotel.

    Stay somewhere else

First time here 6 years ago I proposed to my now wife at this resort Five years ago my wife and I got married at this resort. This most recent trip was for her birthday and was terrible. Quality of the resort if falling fast. Neither of us will go back after this experience. Large holes in the bedroom floor and shower tiles. shower falls into tub and has no support stepped on glass in adult pool area and cut my foot staff are little help with any of the issues you'll go to the bar and order more drinks than will be served to you. service was terrible food is mediocre. Nothing like we experienced the first 2 times.

    Thanks for Everything!

We stayed in the Family Selection. Check-in and check-out was easy. Our gardenview room was clean and spacious. Everything worked. The concierge team performed seamlessly, with extra thanks to 'Speedy'! We ate at the Nest for breakfast and lunch, plus a couple of dinners. The wait staff who stood out were Neftali and Jose, but each person was very good. They worked very well as a team. Neftali was practically waiting with mimosas and a latte. The breeze, the view, the food and staff kept us from El Bosque buffet. It was a hot week in June and El Bosque buffet was more crowded with no breeze. We enjoyed the Family Selection pool every day. There were always loungers and a mix of sun and shade to choose from. We didn't have children with us and we enjoy happy well-behaved children around, which is what we got. It is for families. Carlos, the pool bar server, was great. Even Galo in security chatted, mostly whether the water was swimmable on the beach, which it never was, due to waves and undertow. However we did try at various points along the property, and made it without scrapes or worse. The pool itself was cleaned often, including staff scrubbing tiles. I only attempted yoga stretching once, was not comfortable being the only participant. A few days later a different person, Paola, came for 2 days to offer stretching, but by then I was too lazy. Our best non-Nest meal was at Bamboo, served beautifully by Juan Jose. We ate at the Mexican La Adelita twice because of the sunset view but it was just okay. Italian Portifino was really nice, served ably by Alma and Jennifer. Las Terrazas was disappointing, but we chose to comment to the in-house survey. It must have been a fluke. The resort has no elevators and lots of levels. The guests are 95% Mexican or Spanish, and were generally more gracious than other North American guests we have encountered many times. I believe paying extra for Family Selection is worth it beyond the price.
