    Lack of upkeep

    The resort is rated as a 5 start it is more like a 3 start at best lack of upkeep and cockroaches asked staff to help fix a broken bed a leaking ac unit a tv . But they were more interested to try and sell a travel club plan and upgrade me (at my cost) then to just fix the issues

    Great Food Selection, Beach is comparable to Cuba (Clean & Clear water). Great Entertainment Team. Bingo was Awesome. Archery is one of my highlight (Thanks to Redbull).

    Too many follow ups to get issues resolved

    I stayed at the Hotel Bavaro for 6 days and left 11/27/24. My birthday was 11/26 and I purposely picked this hotel to celebrate and I wish I hadn’t. Our room was a rooftop jacuzzi and the jacuzzi wouldn’t drain after being filled. I had to call to have maintenance fix and they needed to replace the drain stopper because they confirmed it was stuck. Also our rooms air conditioning wasn’t working the first day /night so myself and my family slept in sweat until they fixed it the following day and the maintenance man had to change the pipe as it was blowing hot Air and he confirmed it was not working properly. My television volume stopped working on the 2nd day and I had to call over 4 times for someone to come to the room to fix and when they came they looked at it and confirmed it wasn’t working and said they would be back and never came back. Also there was a leak in my room for 3 days and I had to have a towel on the floor so we wouldn’t slip. Lastly I told guest services when we checked in 11/22,and on 11/24 ,11/25 and 11/26 that my birthday was 11/26 and I wanted my door decorated. No one ever decorated . I was very upset, I kept reminding guest services and then when I called at 6pm on 11/26 I expressed my frustration and they said they would have someone decorate soon and it never happened. The service was as horrible overall when it came to guest services and maintenance. I travel every single year for my birthday and I have to say the experience I had I don’t believe I would want to come back to this hotel or recommend. Every year a hotel does something special for my birthday and I look forward to that and to a nice tropical vacation and the lack of follow up from the staff regarding multiple issues that arose and not taking the time to decorate my door with the birthday sign after I repeatedly called and went in person to guest services 3 times is horrible .
