Would recommend for family, couples and solo travelers

Room well stocked and clean. Traveling solo I felt very safe wherever I went on resort. Food was delicious and quite varied. All staff were helpful and polite. Beaches and chairs kept clean. They arranged safe taxi rides. Checked on my welfare during holiday.

    Disappointed and let down.

Lots of issues that took too long to get sorted. Staff more interested in getting us to sign up to the club experience rather than giving us the experience and letting the hotel sell itself. Chic was booked for our 30th wedding anniversary with the hotel staff. Only to find out that it was closed on the night that we booked. Had to reschedule to 2 days after our anniversary. When I asked about the booking on our anniversary the guest relations team member just laughed and said oh well you will just have to go tomorrow. Not a very happy holiday.

    Dont visit this hotel !!

I will visit Punta Cana, but never again this hotel. Staff need to be helping and worki.g not standing on every corner. They didt go the extra mile for the tourist.room number 1293 needs really good maintenance. That room for what i paid to $$$ upgrade wasn't ready.

    Horrible Honeymoon Experience

TL;DR Had a total of 4 rooms over a 5 night stay one of which was infested with ants. Most of the staff blamed us for their issues even though we did everything right and let them know about the problems as soon as they arose. Food is very bland. Spend the extra money on a nicer resort not called the Grand Palladium I'll start with the little bit of good first. The resort property itself is beautiful and there are some helpful and friendly staff. Other than that the resort doesn't have a lot going for it. My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and I booked the stay back in October 2022 directly on the Grand Palladium website as a rewards member. When I booked I requested and paid for a Rooftop Jacuzzi Junior Suite with a King Size Bed. When we arrived on Monday, the front desk staff told us they didn't have a room with a king bed available but they could put us in a room with double beds (which they described as being queen beds even though they were clearly fulls) and we could come back to the front desk in the morning and see if they were going to have any king rooms available Tuesday. Our first night in the room, the motor for the jets in our jacuzzi went out within the first 20 minutes of using the tub. Tuesday we returned to the front desk to see if they had a king bed available and they told us they still didn't have one but that they would for sure have one for us on Wednesday and they would block it out for us so we would for sure get it. Wednesday, we returned in the evening from an excursion and proceeded to the front desk to change to our king room. At first the staff acted as though they didn't have anything available but eventually gave us the keys to a room and sent us with the bellboys to carry our luggage to the new room. When we arrived to the "new" room it was already occupied. We then had to go all the way back to the front desk where I explained the situation to the manager. He said he would go in the back and look for a room with a king bed that he could put us in. After waiting in the lobby for 15-20 minutes he returned and told us he searched every corner of the resort and they didn't have any king rooms available but they could put us in another double bed for the night and we could try again tomorrow. We told him we didn't want to have to move again and to just keep us in whatever room he could give us that night. He then handed us off to another employee and went to help other guests instead of finishing what he started with us. Within 5 minutes, the other employee was able to find us a room with a king bed and get us set up in that room so obviously the manager didn't search very hard. On Thursday, we went on another excursion and when we returned that evening, the walls, windows, and our bed was covered in ants (see pictures). I tried calling the front desk but none of the extensions they list on the app actually work so I had to call an 800 number and have them transfer me to the front desk. They sent a maintenance worker up to the room to spray who told us the room wouldn't be good for sleeping in and he would go to the front desk to get the room changed for us and come back. After 45 minutes we hadn't heard anything so we called the front desk again and they told us they would look around for a room and give us a call back. Another 20-30 minutes passed and we got no call back and it was now 11 PM so we finally decided to make the long walk over to the lobby. When we got there, the night supervisor was the only one working the desk so we explained the situation to him. He responded by telling us we should have come and told them about our issues the day prior and he would have taken care of it even though we had been down to the front desk to tell people what was going on everyday since we arrived to the resort. He ended up putting us in another double room where we stayed for the rest of our trip. The following morning (Friday) we went down to guest services to ask for some sort of compensation since it was now our last full day at the resort and we still hadn't stayed in the room we booked and paid for and we hadn't even been able to enjoy one single night of our honeymoon. The lady at guest services was the first person all week that had actually apologized for all the issues we had had. We asked her supervisor for some sort of monetary compensation since it was our last full day on the resort and even if we could come back to Punta Cana, we would never stay at the Grand Palladium again but he informed us there was no possible way to refund us any money and even went as far as to say there was no such thing as a rooftop jacuzzi junior suite with a king bed even though we had already stayed in one of those rooms that was bug infested. We ended up settling for a dinner reservation at First Wine which is a restaurant on location that I'm pretty sure is already free for guests to make a reservation at (Don't quote me I could be wrong about that) along with putting flower petals and champagne in our room to celebrate our honeymoon which I had already requested for the day we arrived but it wasn't there for us. The supervisor also told us again that if he would have known earlier there was more he could have done even though we had been in contact with the front desk about the issues we had every day since we arrived. Both of these were hardly enough compensation for the crap we dealt with on our honeymoon but we were assured there was nothing more they could offer so I felt like it was either that or nothing. We weren't the only ones to deal with this as there are many other reviews citing similar occurrences and we even talked to several other guests who had been dealing with the same stuff as us while we were there. On top of all this, the food at the buffet restaurants was pretty low quality, bland food and there isn't anywhere close by to go off resort for dinner. They tell you when you check in that room service is included with your room during certain hours but they don't tell you how to contact them and order. The extension on the app does not work and when you try to order directly on the app, it says there is a $17 charge. All restaurants will turn men away wearing sleeveless shirts but have no problem with ladies in strapless dresses (Not a diss on the ladies, I think both should be acceptable at least in the buffet style restaurants) even though this is a beach resort. If you run a resort on the beach you should expect people to be coming from the beach and be wearing tank tops at least. The pool at the Bavaro was disgusting. There were also at least two resort wide power outages during our stay on perfectly sunny days. I have no idea how this resort has so many high star reviews because it is definitely not a 5 star hotel. It may be affordable but spend the extra money on a nicer resort and avoid Grand Palladium at all costs. My wife and I are like many people and realize many resorts have low star reviews from a few disgruntled guests but it usually isn't anything to worry about but in this case, do not gloss over the low ratings.

Excellent experience and a pleasant surprise on exceptional service

Beautiful property, very well maintained. Extraordinary staff who excell in hospitality and service. Very nice restaurants, clean, tasty, great quality, and a nice variety, housekeeping does a wonderful job with daily services and night time turn down services. The beach was gorgeous and the huts on the beach were plentiful and perfect protection from the sun. Beach vendors were a bit annoying but nonetheless a great experience. If youre in the Travel Club, check out Jhan Carlos, excellente!
