Never wanted to leave!
Romantic trip with my boyfriend and they sure made us feel like royalty! All staff are super friendly and attentive. Gorgeous property and views from the room. Food was pretty good, too. The grounds and pools are stunning. I couldn’t get enough of hanging poolside, it’s like you’re in a total oasis!

Best on the island
A spectacular property right on the ocean. The staff is super-friendly and the amenities are first class. We had dinner at every restaurant at the Hyatt and they were amazing. It's the kind of place that you don't have to leave if you don't want to although we did experience the rest of Kauai. This was our second trip here to celebrate our anniversary and we are already planning our next.

Still a great resort
First time back to the Hyatt after about 15 years. Honestly I think it looks better now than it did--and it was always beautiful. Kudos to Hyatt for the upkeep on this valuable property. Everything was great. Room, employees, waiters, valets all very personable and pleasant. Not sure if if was lower occupancy or not but it was also very quiet which is always appreciated. Not cheap obviously but at least you get what you pay for. Would highly recommend and will be our 1st choice when we return to Kauai in the future

Lovely stay in beautiful Kauai!
Our stay at the Grand Hyatt Kauai couldn’t have been more perfect! Kauai is such a beautiful island—it’s hard to describe in words. We first stayed here more than 30 years ago, and we are so glad that we returned with our young-adult kids to celebrate our anniversary because the resort is even prettier than we had remembered! The grounds are lush with tropical foliage, palm trees, and vibrant flowers, and the blue sky and Pacific Ocean really make the colors pop. The beach in front of the resort is a bit small with strong waves, but the ocean is so beautiful to watch, and the resort's many pools make up for the fact that the ocean is often too rough for swimming. We especially loved the saltwater pool, which is right in front of the ocean and designed to make you feel like you are at the beach. While the Hyatt’s setting is spectacular, we found that the people really make this place special. We had the opportunity to eat at the Grand Club Lounge during our stay and couldn’t get over how hospitable and warm the staff were! Ana, Cindi, and Renee were over-the-top friendly and made us feel so welcome, as did Skye, Justin, and other staff members whose names escape us. They gave us tips on Kauai, answered our questions about the resort and the island, and always asked us about our day. The food at the Grand Club is really good, but the people there are exceptional, and we are so grateful for their kindness. Before our arrival, we reached out to Celeste, who gave us guidance as Explorist members and helped us get a great room with a lovely partial oceanfront view that also overlooked beautiful gardens. She also connected us with Wenona, a fantastic concierge, who helped us secure multiple dinner reservations and sent us a detailed email with helpful maps and information about recommended activities, both at the Hyatt and on the island. When we visited, the resort was fully booked, but we never felt overrun by other guests; in fact, it was rather peaceful most days. We tried a few restaurants outside of the Hyatt (Keoki’s Paradise and Kenji Burger were great), but also had meals at Tidepools (beautiful, open setting next to the koi pond) and Stevenson’s, both of which had great food and service. For lunch, we tried Hale Nalu by the pool and were pleasantly surprised at how tasty the fish tacos and burgers were, and the staff were so pleasant and attentive! We also want to mention the Cultural Center at the Hyatt—a fun and educational experience we may have overlooked if not for the activities sheet. Moani, the center’s director, was a wealth of knowledge and a gracious teacher as we made kukui nut bracelets. We also learned how to make feather flowers with Robin. At the front desk, Lauren, Arlyn, and Cici were great to work with and really helpful in answering our many questions as well as troubleshooting a minor issue or two that occurred during our stay. We absolutely loved Kauai and loved the Grand Hyatt. Traveling so far from home, it felt good to be staying at a resort where the staff not only pride themselves in exceptional customer service, but also seem genuinely excited to welcome guests to their beautiful part of the world!
