Miserable Holiday vacation
Unfortunately, after looking forward to our trip & stay at the Golden Nugget for Christmas- New Year, our stay was less than spectacular. We stay in Vegas on Fremont frequently & have stayed at the Nugget before. We were offered a $40/ day food & beverage credit. We arrived on Christmas and nothing, but Claim Jumper was open. We love their breakfast, but not into their lunch/ dinner & we had our hopes on another venue. We asked if the credit was added to the next day if not used, and we were told no. Since this was a selling point to us, it was very disappointing that we are just losing credits. We tried again to use the credit for room service, only to find they were not open. We were very frustrated and had to go elsewhere to eat. Room service in fact was closed if it was too late (When most are finished enjoying the evening in Vegas), or too early or wrong day. Our room was very hot. The AC unit barely worked and it's unseasonably warm in LV. We set the AC at the very lowest setting and still stayed hot in the room the entire stay. As you can imagine, we drank up the water in a hot room. We texted the service each day to get bottled water replenished. We received a response text, but only actually got the service 2 times out of the 7 day stay. Housekeeping came by and made the bed, gave us clown towels, but did not empty our trash. Our bathtub had a crack in the tub itself. The elevators to the Gold tower used to have card access only for those staying in that tower, but that was not present or not working any longer. The sense of security you had was partiality gone. We get charged a $40-$50 a day resort fee, but not sure for what. Pool was closed for repairs, did not have a car to park, no room service, hot room, cracked shower & lack of security to our tower. We went to leave, checked our bags with the bell hop and came back in an hour so we could go to the airport and no one could find the bell hop. The manager called him and nothing. The only highlight we had was the man who called up Taxis went in and got our luggage so we could go after we waited over a half hour. It's a beautiful hotel with great restaurants, but the experience this time had us miserable for most of our vacation. We will be looking into another venue for our next trip to Vegas.

Ruined my vacation
There was a malfunction on the Priceline website it looked a hotel room for $268.97 on New Year's Eve I immediately called the hotel and Priceline the Golden Nugget manager said that no problem canceling the reservation they needed rooms for that night however when Priceline sent the cancellation over it was denied twice even after I talked to the manager on two separate occasions after that the front desk would not let me speak to the manager anymore they said they have no access to the emails and there is nothing they could do to help me that it was up to Priceline the whole time Priceline is telling me they're sending the emails and not getting a response that was charged in full for the room I did not staying however I did stay there from the 29th to the 31st which was the original booking which I was trying to acquire I explained that I would not be able to be on that side of town for New Years because I have a child that is under 21 and he will not be allowed on to Fremont Street also they were charging $55 a person I explained I have a reservation at the Oyo for the exact same date I don't even know how it got to this point Priceline should have corrected their mistake the front desk told me they would be able to fix it even after the check-in date as long as Priceline sent that email Priceline states that they still have not gotten a response from the Golden Nugget it's really hard to enjoy your vacation when you're getting charged $268 for a room you didn't stay in

Prostitution Central
Am a frequent visitor to downtown LV. Multiple times a year and sometimes multiple times a month. Have recently been staying at the Nugget but may need to rethink that decision. The amount of obvious prostitutes is unbelievable. Do not see any where near that volume at any other downtown establishment. Sure there are but they don't stand out like at the GN. Surprisingly, most are posted at the bar right in front of the cage and the security stand. Makes it uneasy to approach the casino cage with a large sum of chips late in the evening. Is there a NV law prohibiting security from asking loiters to keep it moving? How are places like Circa managing it that GN can't replicate?

Great place for dinner
We had dinner in one of the steak houses here, the meal was magnificent and the service superb. And at a reasonable price. Saltgrass, it is on the ground floor. The menu has a number of good choices available, I had the N.Y. Strip loin and is was cooked perfectly.@
