Not a Place to stay anymore- stay away
Trip Advisor must remove this property from its website. No other choice . This place is basically non operational. It will not fix the pool, open the restaurant or update the rooms. It was a wonderful place a few years back but it is not a resort or a place to spend any time as a visitor. Please do not advertise anymore since it is detrimental to the tourists that find themselves facing an atrocity. Do something about this listing. Pronto.
Amenities that aren't...
This hotel is almost a complete SCAM... first thing first, it's by the beach, so that's not a lie... the problem is all the "amenities" they say they have... The Pool, Hot Tub, Bar, Coffee Bar, Restaurant have been shut down for a long time, this isn't just a "oh, we just had a problem with the pool that's why it's closed"... there was no apologies on their part... they said it was on their website...NEWSFLASH... it's not!... next the front desk personnel are so rude and disrespectful, and when I asked to speak to a manager, I was told there was none... when given an email, i found out that my email goes to the people who i checked in with... the only reason i stayed here was because my room was non-refundable and they told me i had to contact my booking agency, they wouldn't do anything for me ... then on top of that, on the site i booked it said all taxes and fees were paid for... then when you get there they try charging me an additional "resort" fee... first off, what is the "resort fee" actually for if none of the amenities are there... secondly when you prepay something and there is no mention of any additional fees, the hotel can't just charge you that.... also, when you check in, they give you a paper that describes the rules and what not, it says the gate to the beach is supposed to be open until 9pm, they locked it at 7.... seriously, i hope no one stays here, it's a nice location but the resort itself is a complete and utter mess.... will never stay here again... i hope whomever reads this won't either...
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. DON'T STAY HERE !!!!!!
DO NOT STAY HERE !! Its a complete SCAM . They advertise a pool on here but the pool , Restaurant , Bar and almost all the "OFFERED" amenities you pay for are ALL completely shut down and have been for more than 1.5 yrs as I found out from the own staff. We booked a family stay with several rooms and did not like this experience at all and requested a FULL REFUND ! because they did not place us elsewhere only switched rooms for us . They have several issues in the rooms with the A/C and humidity on several of their floors . You can literally smell it as you start to walk in . The A/C in our room was causing a huge puddle of water within our room. And this was happening in several rooms on separate floors because we booked 5 rooms in total and several had the same odor & issue . They definitely don't even deserve the 1 pt rating . I had to give that just to write this review but trust me on this one DON'T book here !
Don’t waste your time
Only gave a score of 1 because I had to. Don’t waste your time here. First off everything is pretty much closed here. All the amenities are closed. They advertise the pool but the pool and hot tub and dry and empty. The room wasn’t bad but we booked a room with a king size bed and got a room with two singles and were told that your reservation doesn’t guarantee you a king size bed. Seriously ? The front desk is a joke and very slow. The only good thing is how centrally located it is to everything. That way you can down the least time there as possible.
I’m writing this review as an ex-employee, total SCAM! The infrastructure is literally falling apart, the coffee shop/restaurant closed because the health department came in. They’ll tell you certain amenities like the pool or gym will be available soon but they won’t ever again. The homeowners association is at war with the hotel (because this building is hotel/timeshare/airbnb/residence) and will not back down until the hotel is gone. It might look like a good deal, but it just isn’t worth your money to literally risk your health. The carpets haven’t been changed in years and there are rooms that aren’t available due to MOLD! That is seeping into the rooms that they do sell you! And I haven’t even mentioned the bugs 😩. Old a/c in most of the rooms too. The lobby has no a/c because they owe too much money to LUMA. You can thank your local act 22 money hungry trickster Keith St. Clair who has a long history of jumping country to country going “bankrupt” and running away with money. Not even the laundry room or the game room will be available. The rooms are worth $50, you’re better off sleeping on a towel in the beach and I mean this with my heart and soul. They’ll want to fool you with the only 5 rooms they renovated and pretty lobby, but trust that they are selling garbage. Find somewhere else to stay, Isla Verde is not even close to being one of the best beaches in PR either.
