Just returned home from 7 wonderful days here. Cannot say enough about our Butlers Arturo, Azael, Julien and Ana. So friendly , professional and helpful. Always available to assist us daily. We always looked forward to chatting with them. Also another shout out to our Beach Butlers Anastacio and Will. Always friendly and willing to help you on anything you ask. Great to see their smiles first thing in the morning. Veronica and Sara were excellent servers on the beach. Always enjoyed chatting with them as well. Great food, great beach we just love coming here. Hope to see you all soo
Amazing Stay at the Palms
We stayed at the Palms for 12 nights and our over all experience was outstanding. The dining and service was the best we have had and the Karisma resort was beautiful as always. We had a couples message and used the hydro therapy at the spa, first time we were ever offered champagne in the hot tob and chocolate covered strawberries in the hot beds, very nice touch. One employee in particular made our stay amazing, Anastacio went above and beyond to make our stay special, his attention to detail and ensuring all of our needs and wants were looked after made this a vacation to remember he is amazing at his job. I highly recommend this resort.
Had a good time but disappointed
Beautiful grounds, heavy vegetation. Difficult to find full sun to sun bathe (beach is best location for full sun) Service and food could both use some "polish". Example: Upon arrival our private transfer let us out in front of a building, our luggage was unloaded, we were given a tag and told to go inside to check-in. Once inside, we stood there looking around not knowing where to go and no one greeted us while the people at 2 desks were busy with other people. Upon check out, we had to wait in a 30 minute line, again-just left standing. Housekeeping/bar restocking etc. did partial jobs, would take a few dirty towels but leave some, left fridge standing completely open one day without restocking. Didn't restock water or snacks several days, left their key card in the room. Missed several turn downs - it was a very strange level of service. Some servers were excellent and well polished some were not. Food was not to the level of other resorts we have visited (Secrets Maroma & Akumal; Valentin Imperial or Unico to name a few). Secondhand smoke was a problem from the guests in their swim-outs and balconies in the private building and at the private pool as well as people walking and smoking around the resort and on the beach. While the resort claims to have a dress code, the guests that were there during our stay wore baseball hats (some backwards), flip flops and shorts to evening restaurants. Would be okay if that was what we were expecting. Hotel should change the dress code on their website to depict what they allow. Dinner reservations were required and horrible to obtain. We arrived on Sunday and tried to make reservations for the entire week (we did not specify restaurants said we would like to try them all) come Wednesday, we still did not have reservations for Thursday or Friday. My husband and I give this a 3 star resort at best. Not worth the money with so many fantastic other choices for all inclusive resorts.
Food allergy - no problem!
”What allergies do you have?” is the recurrent question when you enter a restaurant at El Dorado Seaside Suites. For me that was the question that made the difference on our vacation. With severe allergies I’m used to feeling like a burden when I go to restaurants - or having to skip taking dishes that I like. The people at this resort treated me in a way that made me feel both safe and appreciated - although my visits ment more work for them. I’m very happy that I met Oscar, the captain/ floor manager, on our first day. He asked questions so he understood my allergies and then spread the word to the other restaurants. Oscar also supported me through the full visit. Another person that really made a difference was the chef Jorge. Time after time he cooked dishes, when I couldn’t eat from the buffet, dishes with a great variety and so delicious. We met so many other great people that supported us and made our visit safe and special. Thanks to you all and little extra thank you to Nelson, Lidia, Priscila and Gabriella. Our vacation wouldn’t have been the same without you!
Great Family Vacation
We had a great week at Eldorado. Completely enjoyed the kid-free atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Drinks were great and food was generally outstanding. Great variety of food at a number of different restaurants with helpful wait-staff and an easy to use reservation system. Entertainment at night was a bit weak but not horrible. Activity coordinators during the day were wonderful and tried to get participation in a number of different activities. The beach is nice but snorkeling is not good. There are a number of small and medium sized fishing swimming in the protected wading area. The only complaint we had was the pillows were not overly comfortable. Good food and drinks helped make sleep still OK. Four people from our group of 6 got massages that helped work out any kinks related to pillows or beach volleyball! ;) Overall a fantastic vacation that we would recommend to anyone!
