Great resort, Friendly staff especially Beach Butler Jonny
Great resort, friendly staff, great food. We were in section 32 of the Casitas Resort, the beach butler Jonny was super helpful all week. He was friendly, attentive and gave great recommendations. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
My wife & I booked a room at the El Dorado Royale. We were offered an upgrade to the El Dorado Casitas Royale for $180 per night, since we were celebrating out 20 year wedding anniversary, we decided to take the upgrade. We were so excited, the room was available right away. We were taken to our room, the bellman dropped off our bags and gave a very quick overview of the room and left. My wife called the concierge to make dinner reservations for that night, she was told to come over to their office later since they were with someone at that time. We decided we would go to lunch, then to the concierge's office to get dinner reservations, then go to the pool for a while before we unpacked our luggage. We had lunch, then went to the concierge's office and they had left for the day an hour before the scheduled close time. We went to the Casitas lobby and was told that no one could help up with dinner reservations that night. We went back to the room and got dressed for the pool. We went to the pool for our room grouping and there were not lounge chairs available, we walked over to the next pool and spent the afternoon. We went back to the room and unpacked our bags. Then we started noticing a few things that did not seem to be up to the 4 or 5 Star Hotel standards this hotel offers. The Coffee stand was pulled about 2 inches away from the wall and did not look like it made to fit in the area where it was setting. It was square on the end but the wall was not. All of the mirror mounting brackets on the bottom and on the right side were visible. Not very appealing. I went into the water closet and noticed that the door did not have any knobs to open it from the inside. There were spider webs in the corners. We went out on the wooden deck and noticed that almost every plank had splits at the ends and appeared to be rotting out where the nails we driven into the wood a few feet from the outer edge. Later that evening we noticed that the light on the deck was not working. When we left the room to go to dinner we noticed the light above the black staircase was not working. We had to use our cell phone light to navigate to walk down. We reported this to the front desk after dinner, they said it would be fixed the next day. That did not happen! The next afternoon our room keys would not work when we returned from the pool. We went to the Casitas Lobby where we waited for about 20 minutes before security came to unlock the room. Still the stairs light was not working. The next afternoon our room keys would not work again when we returned from the pool. We went to the Casitas Lobby where the called for security to come to the room so we could get in to get ready for dinner, security arrived and unlock the room. The security person decide to replace the door lock since this was the second time in 24 hours that the door lock did not work. Someone was there to work on the stairs light but must not have been able to fix it because later that night it still was not working. We returned home the following day. This was our 4 visit to this hotel in the pas 15 years and it will be our last.
Casitas Royale- Our Segunda Casa
El Dorado Casitas Royale is such an amazing place. There is a very long stretch of beach lined with private Bali beds and beach chairs serviced by beach butlers and countless pools to enjoy- each with a swim up bar and very personable bar tenders. The drinks are good and bartenders and beach butlers go above and beyond to ensure each day feels like a luxurious vacation experience. Special shout-out to Luis Posas and Juan in section 26 during May! Luis helped my husband and friend organize a special birthday surprise with a celebration at our casita pool. Our vacation was complimented greatly by our butlers, Miriam and Imelda. They specially stocked our room with flowers for my birthday and decorated the whole room, and made sure we did not want for anything. Just when we thought there was nothing that could make our trip better, our butlers would make suggestions and orchestrated everything so we never lifted a finger. We are so happy to have found this resort, our segunda casa!
Serenity and Tranquility
We took our parents to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Serenity, tranquility and sincere services made our stay memorable and special. Celestimo the server at breakfast, Juan and Fernando the bartenders at swim-up bars, sweet Juana the maid are among those who went above and beyond. The daily entertainments such as a magic show, circus and various performances are a must see: download the resort app and check out their daily activity schedule. Santa Fe restaurant has a good breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast buffet near the main lobby is much better than the one near The Generation resort. Brick oven baked pizza from Cocos was delicious. La Isla has good ribs and deserts. Kompa the asian fusion was just a okay. The Palms has good fish tacos. We stayed at the Casitas resort right behind the Spa and the surroundings were so peaceful, we strolled along the path everyday rain or steamy hot 😎. Tips.. although it is all-inclusive, we always tip the crews who serve us, showing our gratitude. .. the resort sells the time share deal pretty aggressively, which is a big turn-off and can rob the joy easily. We said no politely but firmly, keeping our cool. Our parents already are planning to come backnext year, and that's how wonderful this resort was for us 👍.
A week in paradise
We spent a week at the resort. The restaurants excellent. All of the employees were attentive, friendly and extremely helpful. Even the stray cats were fun! It was like being on a luxury cruise without the boat.
